Chapter 36 Fighting back

"Mr. Hua, I don't mean to blame Miss Yao. Really! I think she has misunderstood..." Nan Lin was groaning, looking painful. Jacky hugged Nan Lin up to the bed and pressed the button to call the nurse. He looked toward me sharply, "How can you treat her like that even when she was sick? You vicious woman!" Seeing Jacky's reaction and Nan's pitiable look, I eventually understood that my original judgment was right. The several encounters between Nan and me must not be accidental. Obviously her purpose was to make Jacky mistake me for approaching her and hurting her on purpose. Everything seemed very reasonable on the surface for me, Jacky’s wife, who was jealous to hurt his most important person. In addition to her subtle arrangement and acting tricks, even Jacky had completely believed it.     If I continued to explain, I would only be slapped by Jacky. So I said nothing. While the nurse was re-injecting Nan, I sneaked out of the ward. Instead of keeping a far distance, I hid near the hospital and didn't go back to the ward until Jacky left. Seeing me, Nan became alert, "Why are you back?" Instead of 'Miss Yao', she called me 'you' directly without any sign of pretending. "Nan, how about having a talk seriously? Don’t pretend it." I said coldly. "I don't understand what you mean. Pretend? I think you misunderstood." Nan behaved innocently again. I used to think that she was beautiful, whose pitiable appearance was lovable. Now I found it was not true even with his exquisite face and innocent look. What occasionally shown in her eyes made me chilling. Watching closely, I felt that she was too delicate to behave naturally. I didn't know whether it was because of my subjective repulsion after seeing through her mind. "Nan, there might be a misunderstanding. But it was what you did, not me." I said coldly. "Miss Yao, do you mean I have misunderstood you?" She suddenly changed into "Miss Yao", which meant that she had calmed down completely. Only when one calmed down could she remember to pretend. "Do you think you should have been Jacky's wife? While my possession of it makes you so unpleasant that you tried to frame me painstakingly to let Jacky hate me and drive me out so that you can replace me? " Nan blinked again and smiled, "Miss Yao, what are you talking about? I don't understand." "No one else here. Don't put on an act before me! Anyway, I must let you know I will divorce him to satisfy you if he likes it, for we are of two different mind-sets. So you don't have to do that. I have never thought about enjoying what belongs to others. Please let me go and stop framing us, especially Lucas. He is innocent. Please let him go. " Nan certainly didn't believe me. She looked at me quietly, judging whether it was true or not. Maybe she had other thoughts that I could not see through. She suddenly smiled, "Miss Yao, it's so strange! Why did you talk about your home affairs to me? Although Mr. Hua has said many times about the day when he met me before and how much he missed me, I really don't like him. So what you said doesn't exist at all. " She was still acting so far. I really didn't understand why she pretended to be innocent and indifferent since she had ulterior motives for Jacky. Jacky could still not forget her and he would surly provide anything she wanted. Why did she say that she remembered nothing? What’s her purpose on earth? She needn’t have went through all the trouble to achieve her aim. Instead, she could kick me away easily to replace me. My existence for Jacky meant only Lucas’s mother, making no sense at all. A simple thing was indeed confused by her, which was really puzzling. "Nan, let's come straight to the point. Don't pretend anymore. I just want to tell you I won't impede your getting together with Jacky. You don't need to make trouble painstakingly. " Nan smiled with obvious complacency, "I don't know what you are talking about. I want to take a rest now. Please leave here." No matter what I said, she never admitted her conspiracy. I could do nothing with her. In this case, I had to leave. Otherwise, Jacky would hate me more if she play tricks again after he back here. I found myself completely trapped in a pitfall designed by Nan, which I wasn't able to get rid of because I couldn't clearly know her real purpose. What concerned me most was Lucas. He was too close to Nan. If I asked Lucas to leave that kindergarten, Jacky wouldn’t permit. Now there were two choices. One was trying my best to make Nan leave that kindergarten. The other was making Jacky permit. However, both of them were almost impossible to do it. I felt anxious and helpless again. In desperation, I thought of Ying Hua, a doctor expert at TCM. She was Jacky's elder sister. If she could help, something might turn better. Currently, I was not able to contend against Jacky by myself. What’s worse, Nan could easily defeat me at any time by her irreplaceable status in Jacky's mind. I must fight back for Lucas before the situation turned the worst.  In the afternoon, I came to the hospital of TCM. The staff told me that Ying was in a meeting and asked me to wait. After about half an hour, she came out, still looking cheerful and lively, "You look better. It seems that the medicine is very effective. But your anxious eyebrows have told me something else. That’s not good. It will do harm to your health. Why not talk about what happened again? " Seeing that I looked around warily, she immediately understood and led me to her office. After sitting down, she motioned me to say while I was hesitant. Then she encouraged me, "Don’t worry. You can say anything in front of me. If Jacky bullies you, I will help you deal with him!" "Well, Miss Hua ..." "Call me sister Ying. Relax." She interrupted. I changed then, "Sister Ying, it's Nan Lin. She is so horrible. She seems to be brewing a plot."
