Kaladin envisioned Poseidon's concept and immediately called Atius, receiving his approval right away.
"The boss has agreed. Bring out the detailed plan as soon as possible."
Poseidon nodded promptly, "But such a large-scale project might be too much for an ordinary construction company to handle, and acquiring the development rights for Magpie Bridge Mountain is no simple matter either."
Kaladin glanced at Poseidon indifferently, "No matter how simple or not, this matter must be resolved today. I'll go with you to talk to the boss of Damir Real Estate."
Poseidon quickly turned to the board members, "Hurry up and prepare the proposal. I'm going to accompany Mr. Jacobs to 'Damir Real Estate' right now."
As he spoke, Poseidon had someone bring the car around and took Kaladin towards 'Damir Real Estate'.
Damir Real Estate had been established for over twenty years and had developed very rapidly in the early years. Unfortunately, the founder, Damir Yates, had bitten off more than he could chew, aiming too high and suffering a significant loss on the Magpie Bridge Mountain project.
Nowadays, Damir Real Estate was a name only, its true value lying in the development rights it held for Magpie Bridge Mountain.
Damir was a refined-looking middle-aged man with fair skin and a slender figure, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. He was sitting in his office, looking dejected.
The few remaining employees were standing in the office, resignation letters in hand.
Damir massaged his temples and waved them off weakly, "Your salaries will be deposited into your accounts next month. You may go."
Soon, only Damir was left in the office.
He sat in a daze for half an hour, then picked up his coat and descended the stairs while making a phone call, "Dad, I need to discuss something with you."
Downstairs, Kaladin and Poseidon had just arrived when they saw Damir drive away.
Poseidon quickly turned the steering wheel and followed.
Noburgh Mountain Villa Area.
Damir drove into a Chinese-style courtyard.
Kaladin, along with Poseidon, walked towards the gate.
Less than ten seconds after knocking, the gate opened.
An elderly man with a stooped figure, holding a broom, and appearing near the end of his life, answered the door.
Kaladin was surprised because the old man exuded a faint aura of a Peak Earth Rank.
The old man glanced at Kaladin, then turned and said, "Come in."
After Kaladin and Poseidon entered, the old man closed the door and led them to the tea room.
In the tea room.
Lazar Yates, white-haired but spirited, was sipping tea. After listening to Damir's story, he spoke slowly, "You moved too fast when you were young, Damir. Your foundation was unstable, and now it's too late to turn things around."
"Besides, with the Olatunde Group coveting it, do you think they would rest until they get their hands on Magpie Bridge Mountain?"
"In my opinion, just sell the development rights for Magpie Bridge Mountain. At least you'll have the capital to make a comeback."
Damir poured his father another cup of tea, his voice defeated, "Dad, I can't accept this!"
"I started in business at twenty, established the Damir Group at twenty-five. I won't let the Magpie Bridge Mountain project become my disgrace!"
Before Damir could continue, the stooped old man opened the door, ushering Kaladin and Poseidon inside.
Lazar frowned, looking at Poseidon and asked, "Mr. Taylor from Poseidon Group, what brings you here today?"
Poseidon smiled, "Old sir, I'm here today for the Magpie Bridge Mountain in Yeoannes City."
Hearing this, Damir by his side snorted coldly, "Please leave, Mr. Taylor. I'm not selling the development rights for Magpie Bridge Mountain."
Poseidon didn't expect Damir's stance to be so firm and immediately said, "We can offer a price that will satisfy you."
"Not selling!"
Poseidon was about to say more when the stooped old man suddenly emitted an extremely dangerous aura, startling Poseidon into retreating repeatedly.
The old man, named Calum Xenos, had been a renowned master in Wimston Province in his youth.
Calum's aged and murky eyes looked at Poseidon and said slowly, "Since Damir says he's not selling, you should leave."
Kaladin stepped forward, expressionless, "Although it might sound domineering, I must say, Magpie Bridge Mountain, I've decided to buy it."
"The value of Magpie Bridge Mountain is around two billion. I'm offering three billion. If that's not satisfactory, I can increase the offer."
Calum straightened his stooped back, responding coldly, "Young man, aren't you being a bit unreasonable?"
Kaladin looked at Calum indifferently, "That's not how it goes."
"If you're a man of the martial world, you should understand, by coming here to talk, I've already given enough face."
As he spoke, the aura of a Heaven Rank expert burst forth from Kaladin.
Calum's face changed dramatically, and he quickly stepped in front of Damir to protect him.
Lazar's gaze sharpened, "Calum, what's going on?"
Calum sighed, "Sell it. Thirty billion is a fair price."
"No!" Damir's eyes turned red, "I've put so much effort into the Magpie Bridge Mountain project, I won't give up!"
Calum sighed again, "He's right. By coming to talk to us and offering thirty billion, he's already elevating us."
Lazar was silent for two seconds, then slowly said, "I need a reason."
Calum nodded, "Because he is a Heaven Rank expert."
Lazar was shocked and then stood up to bow to Kaladin, "Sir, please calm your anger. Magpie Bridge Mountain, I'll give it to you!"
Damir's eyes reddened, "Dad, Magpie Bridge Mountain is my life's work, I..."
"Shut up!" Lazar glared at his son, "It's not your place to decide in our family!"
Kaladin then nodded, "Old sir, this is the wisest decision you've made in your life."
After speaking, Kaladin turned and left.
Poseidon awkwardly smiled, "Old sir, let's quickly sign the contract."
"Actually, this is a great opportunity for your family. You see, Magpie Bridge Mountain isn't for Mr. Jacobs; it's for his boss."
"A boss who is a Heaven Rank expert. Old sir, you can guess the extent of his influence."
Lazar's breathing became ragged, "Please convey my message to Mr. Taylor. If Magpie Bridge Mountain starts construction, Damir Real Estate is willing to undertake it for free."
"Moreover, Olatunde Group has always wanted Magpie Bridge Mountain. Mr. Taylor, be cautious of them sabotaging you in secret."
Poseidon nodded with a smile, "That's why I say, old Mr. Yates, you have the courage. Don't worry, the Olatunde Group isn't a problem."
Moments later, Poseidon left with the contract.
Lazar looked at the despondent Damir and spoke slowly, "He's a Heaven Rank expert. Even if he killed us on the spot, what could we do?"
"Not to mention Mr. Jacobs, even that Poseidon is not someone our family can afford to provoke."
"Besides, the more formidable figure behind him, as Poseidon said, this is a great opportunity for our family."
Damir clenched his fists, his teeth gritted, "Dad, I'm almost fifty, don't I understand this?"
"I just can't accept it!"
Lazar sighed, "Take some time off. When you have a chance, go see Maille and ask her to come back."
Outside the courtyard.
Kaladin stood in thought.
As Poseidon came out, he asked with a smile, "Mr. Jacobs, Lazar said they could undertake the Magpie Bridge Mountain project for free."
Kaladin “hmmed” and, recalling Damir's appearance, suddenly asked, "Does that Damir have a daughter?"
Poseidon was taken aback, "Yes, one, named Lena Yates, twenty-five years old, just returned from studying abroad."
As he spoke, a red sports car sped up, and a woman carrying a small bag got out.
She had short hair, wore a leather jacket and pants, and had heavy smoky makeup, though her features were delicate.
She glanced at Kaladin and Poseidon, then pushed the gate open and went into the courtyard.
"Speak of the devil," Poseidon chuckled, "That girl is Lena."
"That's not right," Kaladin frowned, murmuring, "The lady of the Lord looks much more like Damir, whereas this girl doesn't resemble Damir at all."
In the next moment, Kaladin's figure flashed, vaulting over the wall and sneaking into the courtyard.
In just a few minutes, Kaladin re-emerged, holding two strands of hair.
He handed the hair to Poseidon and said sternly, "Get this tested as quickly as possible to see if this Lena is Damir's biological daughter."
Although puzzled, Poseidon agreed without hesitation.
Yeoannes City.
Atius, with Nidawi, arrived at the 'Starlight Entertainment' office building to pick up Eilir from work.
As Calandra drove out with Eilir, Atius was about to wave when his phone suddenly rang.
"What's up, Kaladin?"
"Lord, it's highly likely that the Lady of the Lord is not from the Yates family of Yeoannes City."
Atius frowned, "Explain."
"There's a Damir Real Estate in the provincial city, the president is named Damir, and he has a daughter named Lena. I had a DNA test done, and this Lena is not Damir's biological daughter."
"Moreover, I found out that both the Lady of the Lord and Lena were born in the same hospital in the provincial city."
"I suspect that they were born at the same time and then got switched."
Atius said gravely, "Keep this a secret for now. Come see me later, and we'll get a strand of Eilir's hair for testing. If Damir is indeed Eilir's biological father, it would be a good thing for Eilir."
After hanging up the phone, Atius watched the car disappear and walked slowly towards the Jernigan family's direction, holding Nidawi.
