Chapter 8 Here We Are Again

Luke Chen began thinking about what his next step should be after he left the Stars Group. He planned continuing his practice in medicine and martial art after marrying Jennifer, but he had to devise a new plan. Also, there were only two hundred bucks on him, and it didn’t sound like a bad choice to have Jennifer cover all his living cost. “Damn, probably I should've just said yes to her!” Uttered Luke as he smiled out of bitterness,”Well, I’ve taken care of myself for all my life, this it shouldn’t be hard for me to keep doing so! Alright, new life starts from...now!” Food always comes first in one’s life, so Luke walked into a quaintly decorated restaurant. As he was checking the menu, he heard a girl screaming out of surprise:”Oh my god, it’s really you!” Luke turned around and found a beautiful girl who looked quite familiar, after a while of rumination, Luke recognized her as well:”Wow, here we are again!” It was Janice, the girl that Luke saved from the scar-face. “I haven’t really gotten a chance to thank you properly!” Uttered Janice out of excitement. “Don’t be, it was quite easy for me to take down that scumbag.” Said Luke pretentiously,”So what are you doing here?” Janice walked Luke through something about her. Janice’s aunt owns this restaurant and she was just helping out here, her aunt was also in there that day. They were both extremely grateful and insist to return the favor by springing for a lunch for Luke. “Did you really grow up in a mountain? That sounds harsh.” Asked Janice. “It was quite fun actually.” “Now you’re here alone in the city, do you have any plans about finding a job?” “Well, not yet.” “Maybe...” Said Janice carefully,”You can work here with me until you find a better job!” “Really? Thank you!” Smiled Luke. He was in need of money and Janice seemed like a nice girl, there was no reason for Luke to refuse. “Great!” Exclaimed Janice as she jumped off her seat, then quickly sat back down as she stick her tongue out because of embarrassment. “I’m so glad that you choose to stay here, Luke. Let’s go shopping after lunch, you need some new clothes.” Said Meilian Tang, Janice’s aunt, fondly. “Hooray! Shopping!” Exclaimed Janice, She took a glance at Luke, eyes filled with shyness. Soon Luke, Janice and Meilian made for the shopping mall in Meilian’s BMW X6. Luke quite enjoyed the trip since he got Janice by her side. Janice caught quite many people’s attention in the mall while Luke made them confused about why would a gorgeous girl like Janice would hang out with a beggar-looking man. Though Luke didn’t find it awkward, Meilian and Janice did. They quickly brought Luke to have his hair cut, then get him some new sets of clothes. Janice and her aunt have a special taste in fashion, the clothes they chose for Luke really brought out his charm, which quite exhilarated Janice. But when they were about to leave the shopping mall, they were stopped by two men: one bald, one has a dragon tattoo. Both of them fixed their eyes on Janice as they smiled out of erotic desire. “Whoa, shorty, you just bumped into us! Don’t you think you should make it up to us?”
