My head felt like a shit ton of bricks had been stacked upon it. Struggling to open my eyes, I moaned. My body felt heavy. I couldn’t seem to move my arms and legs. I tried to remember what had happened. There had been the attack at the cottage.
I remembered the escape through the tunnels. The boat, and the boys rowing us in the underground river, I remembered all of that. Then it went blank. Shapes were starting to come into focus, and to my surprise, it was my mother who was looking down...
