Chapter 3

It's the day when Rudraksha is about to get engaged with Sikha. He was least interested in it. He was only doing it as a duty but for Sikha it's anything but Duty. She is on cloud nine and why won't she? After all, she is getting married to the person she secretly loves and admires. Sikha is Pratap's best friend's daughter so she was associated with Rudra's family from her childhood. She always noticed Rudra whenever she was in the same place with him but Rudra never paid any attention to her. He always seemed too lost in his own dreamland. Sikha didn't mind it as she knew Rudra doesn't like to be with girls or in any relationship for that matter. And when her father told her that he is planning to get her married with Rudra her joy knew no bounds. It was a dream come true for her. She is getting ready in a peach colour lehenga for her engagement. Before engagement, she wanted to know if Rudra is happy or not but her father said he is happy and she doesn't need to meet him before engagement. "Oh my god Sikha you're looking gorgeous" Her friend exclaimed in awe. "Will he like it?" Sikha asked her friend hesitatingly. "Yes, he will. After all, who can ignore this beauty?" Her friend replied with a cheeky smile. "I only want his love nothing else and I will do anything to make him love me" Sikha said Time for her to live her dream came soon and she was called downstairs. She was feeling shy and nervous. She took a deep breath before leaving and smiled. Her friend took her downstairs where the Prince of her dreams is waiting for him in his peach colour kurta with Nehru coat. She slowly went to stand beside him. Rudra didn't even spare her a single glance. Sikha was expecting at least a glance from him but she didn't get any. She didn't show the disappointment on her face They exchanged the ring and all of the guests cheered for them. Sikha was happy that finally he is hers and no one can take him away from her. "Aren't you happy Rudra?" Sikha asked him as they both were left alone for some time. "Yes, I am. Why won't I?" Rudra easily lied to her "Hmm. No, actually I thought… Never mind. I'm happy that you're happy." Sikha said smiling and Rudra gave his million dollar fake smile The party ended on a good note. Pratap was happiest after all he got what he wanted. With Sikha, he got her property as well. He always wanted them to end up together. Sikha is perfect in his eyes for his son from every aspect. Days were passing fast. Sikha was lost in her Lala land and Rudra was frustrated. His father was getting on his nerves. He wants him to behave like a lovesick puppy in front of Sikha. "Mom, I am going to Kullu for a few months. I need a break from this damn relationship drama. I will come when I feel like" Rudra said, leaving no room for anyone to give an opinion. "What? Why? Rudra you're getting married in less than five months. And now you're saying this?" Rathi asked her son "Mom I need it don't worry I will come back to marry her but I'm telling you clearly she is your daughter in law only not my wife" Rudra said "Rudra why don't you like her? She is beautiful, sophisticated and perfect. She’s having all the qualities you like in girls so why are you not giving her a chance?" Rathi asked "Mom Sikha is everything that dad wants. Yes, I like a beautiful face but I like a beautiful heart more. Sikha is not bad but I don't like her and that is how it is." Rudra said and left for his room. "Natasha, book our tickets to Kullu. I will check on the orphanage and you can meet your family" Rudra said in a call "Seriously sir?" Natasha asked excitedly "Yes, I'm serious. Now don't be late and do it fast" Rudra said "Ok sir," Natasha said happily Rudra smiled at her childishness. Natasha is originally from Kullu. But for work, she is staying here. He adores her like a younger sister. My younger sister, he remembered his cousin who is staying at Kullu with her parents. He will meet her as well. He packed his clothes and got ready. Pratap didn't have any problems with it. He has given his son freedom but he knows when he needs to stop him. Rudra was happy when he reached Kullu. Natasha was happier that she will be able to meet her friends and family. Rudra was driving the car himself. He has dropped Natasha to her house. He was driving his car when suddenly a girl came in front of him. He stopped in time before the girl would have hit. Rudra came out from his car and saw the girl was holding a bag in her hand. "Are you blind or what? Who jumps in front of a running car?" Rudra screamed at the girl The girl stood up and looked at Rudra apologetically. Neither did she have fair skin nor perfect looks. She is an average girl with dark skin colour. "Answer me can't you see? If you want to die then go and find someone else" Rudra again screamed at her but the girl didn't reply. "Are you deaf? Or dumb? Leave it why I'm even wasting my time on you. Now move" Rudra said and the girl moved away. Rudra drove his car to his aunt's home. "Bhai, you came? I'm so happy I missed you so much." His sister Saumya said "Calm down sis let me breathe. I am here for a long vacation, don't worry." Rudra said to her smiling He greeted his aunt and uncle as well. Saumya started talking about his marriage with Sikha. She wasn't able to attend his engagement because of her exams. Rudra sighed because again he remembered about his marriage. After talking with his sister Rudra decided to go to his room. He then remembered the girl whom he almost hit. He felt bad for screaming at her. He doesn't know why he screamed at her like that. The girl was nothing he liked but she was something else, her big eyes have the depth that can make anyone lost in them. He shook his head and decided to sleep for some time.
