Visiting an old shrine in Japan once, Casper, Lulu, and I chanced upon a famous carving. It showed three wise monkeys namely; Mizaru, Kikazaru, and Iwazaru. One monkey was covering its ears, another its eyes, and the last its mouth, symbolizing the proverb we know today as, 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.'
Casper, the moral compass holder in our group, immediately harped about the hidden meanings of the carving. He said that the monkeys could be telling us to shun away negative...
