CHAPTER 7: MEMORIES BRING BACK

I noticed that there was a door that was leading to another room from behind me. As I moved forward, someone pulled me to that room. I can’t see him clearly because the room is dark. I can only see the dimly lit bedroom from inside this room where we're standing right now. “Who are you?” Amidst the darkness, I can hear his rough voice asking me. It was a male voice but it creeps the hell out of me. “Who are you?!” I asked back. There's no way that I am letting the fear of him consume me. He was holding both of my hands from behind me. He's too strong for me to get away from what he's doing. “Let go of me, will you?” I whimpered, trying to twitch my body but to no avail. He was too powerful. Was he the leader of the goons? I mean the bodyguards of Mrs. Myles? Did he see what I did to them while they were still sleeping? He chuckled a little, he seemed to be quite amused to what I am acting right now. Who did he think he was? “Whoever you are, you’ll regret staying here. You should never stay here if you want to have a peaceful life.” He sounded more threatening of me. “Again, who are you mister? And how dare you to touch me like this?” I gathered all my force and as I said those words, it truly diverted his attention, as I elbowed his stomach so hard for him to let go of me. When I felt that I am free from his touch, I was able to run as fast as I could. Because of too much fear at the same time, I left the room and rushed towards my room and shut it down. I even locked it for me to be sure he can’t open the door or sneak in my room, whoever that prankster is. I know the house is big and grand, so majestic it looked like one of those houses only seen on TV that’s owned by millionaires but here I am right now. Not until I was able to experience this one. Who is he in the first place? Why did he do it? Has he been observing me from the time I went out of my room? Gosh, that’s creepy. The next morning, I had breakfast, together with my mom and Mrs. Myles. She seemed to be happy and active as she ate her favorite garlic bread and black coffee. I knew it because it’s her favorite snack in the cafe. My mom is also eating well. I can see that she’s enjoying all the food that’s prepared for us because she’d never eaten most of the food ever since. I sighed to myself. I am making sure they will never hear it. As for me, I can't chew any food because of what happened last night. It’s been on my mind that I only slept for about four hours or less. I am still wondering who's the man who nearly gave me a heart attack by even threatening me for no reason at all. “Delina?” My mom called me as he tugged his elbow gently on my arm. I blinked my eyes as I quickly turned my gaze on her. “Mom, sorry were you saying something?” I said as I awkwardly smiled, putting the bread on my mouth and pretending to chew it as if I love it. I saw my mom looking at Mrs. Myles and she is to her too, as if they’re having the same non-verbal language. “Yeah, we’re talking about a lot of things already, dear. I noticed that you're not even paying attention. Is there something wrong?” "Sorry, Mrs. Myles." I looked down, looking so embarrassed about what I did. I never knew they were already looking at me while these thoughts are clouding my mind. "Mrs. Myles, the house is too big. I noticed that we're the only ones that accompany you in your every meal. Are you okay with being alone?" My mom suddenly asked, out of the blue. Thank goodness my mom thought of that question. She seemed like reading my mind for the longest time. At least, they will not ask me about what I have been thinking throughout this time. "Huh? I am alone here, together with my helpers and bodyguards." Upon hearing it, I almost choke on the water I am drinking. I coughed so hard that both of them got worried, my mom gently massaged my back. Mrs. Myles handed me one of the table napkins. "I'm okay. I'm sorry maybe the food is really good, that's why." I softly said between coughs. They didn't know how Mrs. Myles's confession of her being alone here in the house greatly affected me just now. I'm starting to have goosebumps and it made my heart beat fast. Who is that guy who strangled me last night? How is he related to Mrs. Myles? Is he the reason why there are a lot of guards around the house? I tried eating with my mom and Mrs. Myles as normally as I can. I never want my mom to worry as much as I do. After breakfast, Mrs. Myles advised me to go shopping with my mom. She gave me one of her MasterCard for me to use. No matter how I try refusing her, in the end, it's her insisting power that truly prevailed. She went to her small cafe where I formerly worked and told me to enjoy shopping while she's gone. Mind you, it's more of a requirement for me to do it. While Mrs. Myles was gone to the cafe, I went to the small room where she went the other night. I want to have a little investigation into myself. I tried turning the doorknob clockwise and surprisingly, it opened. I thought that this room was locked for whatever reason but I was wrong. I carefully looked around me and when I noticed that nobody was around, I quickly stepped inside the room and closed it behind me in a silent manner. My jaw almost dropped when a familiar portrait of a handsome guy hung facing the wall greeted me. "R-Ryker Reid?" Who can't forget this Cutie bachelor that's all over the news for many succeeding years ago? He's popular because of his numerous businesses and him being a versatile actor. He's tall, standing 5'11 in height. He has brown eyes that could melt your soul deep down because of how he looks at you. He has a pointed nose and thick, kissable lips. He's my version of Captain America. I stepped back because his portrait looks so alive. Looking at him, he's like looking at me right now. I can feel the wall on my back. My knees almost lost their strength. Why is he this Cutie? It is still very clear in my memory about what happened five years ago. The private plane that he boarded going to Europe crashed because of an engine failure. News spread everywhere and there was the actual footage of how the airplane exploded as it crashed. This Cutie man and his story were almost forgotten by many because he's already dead. I swallowed hard. How is Ryker Reid related to Mrs. Myles?
