"Who am I? I am Drake Dragon, a name that holds absolute power. Am I truly Drake Dragon, the revered Alchemy Emperor who commands respect from all and has dominion over the heavens? Or am I the Drake Dragon who is merely a weakling ridiculed by all and unable to cultivate?" A whirlwind of thoughts swirled in his mind, accompanied by intense pain that consumed his entire body. Drake Dragon couldn't help but suppress the turmoil within, letting out a pained groan.
"Drake, you're finally awake! Oh, thank goodness. I was so worried about you. Why did you challenge them? You didn't have to do all this." A gentle voice rang in Drake Dragon's ears. It carried a mixture of relief and warmth, yet a hint of sorrow lingered in the voice.
Drake Dragon slowly opened his eyes, his surroundings blurry at first. As the scene gradually came into focus, he found himself gazing upon a woman's face. She appeared to be in her thirties and possessed remarkable beauty, though the deep lines etched at the corners of her eyes betrayed her youthful appearance.
In that moment, the woman peered back at Drake Dragon with tear-filled eyes, brimming with love and affection. It was a gaze that stirred a sense of warmth within his heart.
"My child, you scared me half to death." The woman uttered these words, her eyes growing even redder as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Mother?" Drake Dragon looked at this familiar yet unfamiliar face, echoing the word with a mix of confusion and surprise etched across his features.
"Son, don't make me scared please. Surely, you recognize your own mother, right" Panic flickered across the woman's face in response.
Simultaneously, an elderly man emerged beside the woman. He greeted Drake Dragon and addressed her, "Lady Dragon, your son suffered a severe blow to the back of his head. It is possible that his cognitive abilities need time to recover. Do not worry too much. The medication he received from the young master has yet to fully take effect. Allow him to rest more."
Lady Dragon cast an anxious glance at Drake Dragon before reluctantly nodding and following the old man out of the room.
From a distance, Drake Dragon overheard the old man silently whispering to the woman, "Lady Dragon, Master Long, luck was on your side this time. He survived, which is lucky enough, there's nothing more to ask for."
Lady Dragon's voice trembled as she asked, "Master, what do you mean by this regarding my son...?"
The individual referred to as the Medicine Master let out a sigh and replied, "My Lady, the blow to the back of his head was severe. In all honesty, it's a miracle he woke up, but the resulting complications are grave. It would not be surprising if he experiences amnesia..."
As they distanced themselves, the conversation grew faint, with only the occasional sound of Lady Dragon's sobs reaching Drake Dragon's ears.
Drake Dragon gazed up at the ceiling, his body wracked with intense pain, especially at the back of his head where sharp bursts of anguish radiated. As he laid there, he found himself grappling with a deep sense of confusion and conflicting emotions towards his biological mother, Lady Dragon. Strange memories flooded his mind, leaving him uncertain of his true identity. Was he the formidable Alchemy Emperor Drake Dragon or the pitiful Waste Drake Dragon? The amalgamation of these two personas left him with more questions than answers.
Frustratingly, Drake Dragon found himself overwhelmed with uncertainty. However, he resolved to focus on one undeniable fact - he was still alive. Regardless of whether he was considered trash or an alchemical genius, his survival took precedence.
Examining his injuries, Drake Dragon discovered numerous fractures all over his body. His three ribs were broken and his arm was fractured in two places. The most severe damage was inflicted on the back of his head, where a large portion of his skull had caved in. How mercilessly they did this to him!.
Strangely enough, Drake Dragon noticed that although he couldn't gather energy, his soul possessed an unusually potent power. He could sense the surroundings within a ten-foot radius. This realization surprised him. According to his fragmented memories, he understood the significance of soul power, particularly for an alchemist. It was a precious resource, paramount to their craft.
Whether it was the rebirth of the Alchemy God or the merging of their memories, Drake Dragon saw it as an immense gain for himself. In one scenario, he would experience life anew, while in the other, he would possess the soul of an unparalleled powerhouse. The possibilities were awe-inspiring.
Now, his soul possesses an immense power that allows him to see deep within himself. He has suddenly unraveled the secret of why he has become useless.
The spiritual root, located in the Dantian, is a core source of energy for cultivation. It serves as the foundation for sensing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, as well as absorbing the world's spiritual energy.
Spiritual blood refers to the innate trace of blood present in every individual from birth. However, most cultivators are unaware of this fact.
The spiritual bone, a slight protrusion on the human chest, is not possessed by ordinary individuals. Among thousands of practitioners, it is a unique characteristic and a symbol of great talent.
Drake Dragon's chest clearly displayed a missing piece of the spiritual bone, a sign that someone had forcibly removed it.
Drake Dragon's expression became extremely displeased. If not for the merged memories, he would have been oblivious to the tampering done to his body.
In theory, while these three elements hold great value, they serve no purpose once separated from the human body. It begs the question: why go to such lengths to harm oneself? Such a method only results in a life worse than death. The consequences were beyond deplorable.
Nevertheless, despite the anger boiling inside him, the loss of these three elements renders his anger meaningless.
"They will definitely pay the price once the identity of the culprit is known to me."
Drake Dragon couldn't help but clench his teeth. It was truly disgraceful. With his possession of a spiritual bone, even someone with minimal intelligence could recognize his absolute genius.
However, due to the actions of this despicable individual, he has been reduced to a useless person incapable of further cultivation and subjected to bullying and contempt from others.
In the midst of his fury, the door gently creaked open, and a young and pretty maid, named Jewel, entered. She was around thirteen or fourteen years old, and she approached Drake Dragon, his personal attendant.
"Master, it's time for your medicine," Jewel spoke softly, holding a pill in her hand.
Drake Dragon sniffed the air, curious about the contents of the medication. "What kind of medicine is that?" he inquired.
Jewel held up the Tiger Bone Pill, replied: "An elixir that Lady Dragon had acquired at great expense." She explained that the renowned alchemist Master Cloud Qi had concocted it, assuring him of its potency. She urged Drake Dragon to take it, emphasizing its quick healing properties.
Drake Dragon observed the pill in Jewel's hand, his expression filled with bewilderment. Could this unappealing object truly be considered a pill? It appeared lumpy and uneven, resembling meatballs more than anything else. Not to mention its dull, black color devoid of any shine. If it weren't for the faint medicinal fragrance, Drake Dragon may have mistaken it for something far less desirable.
Deep in contemplation, Drake Dragon sighed after examining the pill for a prolonged period. He couldn't help but ponder how he managed to waste over 80% of the pill's medicinal properties. This incompetence was truly disheartening for such a self-proclaimed "master". It dawned on him that the pill in his hand was nothing more than a subpar product, a useless and defective concoction. In normal circumstances, alchemists would never sell such elixirs, for making such a pill would bring shame to them. Instead, they would convert them into liquid medicine or simply dispose of them.
"Master, please don't be lost in thought. Madam sold all her jewelry to purchase this precious pill. You should consume it without delay," Jewel urged, breaking Drake Dragon out of his trance.
Drake Dragon couldn't help but feel a pang of regret in his heart. In his memory, his mother had always showered him with love and affection, fulfilling his every desire. It was unprecedented for her to deny him anything. Regrettably, it was because of his incompetence that his mother had been driven to such drastic measures. Lady Dragon was once renowned for her beauty in her youth. Despite being in her thirties, the deep crow's feet etched at the corners of her eyes were a testament to the sacrifices she had made for Drake Dragon.
Examining the defective pill in his hand, despite its imperfections, he realized that the medicinal ingredients were of high quality. Even with an 80% impurity rate, they could still effectively treat his injuries.
After consuming the pill, Drake Dragon ordered Jewel not to disclose any information about him, including to his mother.
Although Jewel seemed bewildered, she obediently nodded, placing her trust in Drake Dragon's judgement.
Unable to refine the medicine using his cultivation ability, Drake Dragon utilized his formidable soul power to guide the medicine toward his injuries, resulting in a remarkably rapid recovery.
The following day, Drake Dragon slowly opened his eyes, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth as he stretched his muscles.
Excellent. Although the pill was less than satisfactory, the quality of the medicine itself was commendable. With most of his injuries healed, the remaining trauma could easily be treated. He walked over to the mirror with deliberate steps.
Observing the reflection of a young man with sharp eyebrows and piercing eyes in the mirror, Drake Dragon uttered with solemnity, "From this day forward, I, Drake Dragon, shall no longer be the same as before. I am determined to rise."
Despite feeling slightly weak still, he could walk without any issues. Drake Dragon exited the room only to be greeted by the rising sun outside.
After contemplating for half an hour, Drake Dragon summoned Jewel and provided her with a list of medicinal materials, instructing her to procure them.
However, Jewel appeared somewhat embarrassed. A realization struck Drake Dragon, causing his heart to stir. The Long family was now experiencing dire financial circumstances, and Jewel didn't have access to funds from the accountant.
Otherwise, his mother wouldn't have resorted to selling her precious jewelry, a treasured dowry from her past. Today, the Long family was truly facing desperate times.
He reached into his pocket and discovered over eighty silver coins. Though not an extravagant sum, it was sufficient to purchase the necessary medicines.
Jewel diligently procured the medicinal ingredients within an hour. Without delay, Drake Dragon began blending them in different proportions, simmering them in earthen pots.
Three hours later, he held a bowl of thick medicinal liquid emitting a fragrant aroma. A smile graced Drake Dragon's lips as he regarded the bowl of inexpensive but potent medicinal soup.
"Through this bowl of medicinal liquid, I, Drake Dragon, shall ascend."
