Upon learning that they had been manipulated and with several projects at the institute still on hold.
Ja Jiang couldn't help but feel frustrated.
She didn't expect Olivia Fu's animosity towards her to remain so strong after six years, let alone resorting to such underhanded tactics.
However, now was not the time to vent her emotions. Ja Jiang pinched the palm of her hand to calm herself and then looked up at Clark Gu. "It's alright. If Haicheng won't work, we'll contact herbal medicine suppliers in other cities. We'll surely find someone willing to cooperate."
She didn't say it explicitly, but she knew that this would come at a higher cost and take more time.
"Actually, we may not need to go to another city," Clark Gu said, his tone becoming more relaxed.
Hearing this, Ja Jiang raised an eyebrow. "Do you think there are other herbal medicine suppliers in Haicheng that we can cooperate with? The small local shops won't suffice; we need ones with a certain scale."
Clark Gu nodded. "I know, but this might require your personal involvement."
Ja Jiang was even more puzzled now. "I remember you mentioned that you know about the herbal medicine suppliers in Haicheng. Have you heard of the Qin family?"
Clark Gu continued, "The Qin family has a long history in the herbal medicine business and holds a high status in Haicheng. Mr. Qin, the patriarch, is highly respected. However, his health hasn't been great in recent years, and despite seeking renowned doctors, they've been unable to find a solution. They even asked me to have a look, but I believe I lack the expertise. However, you might not."
"I see." Ja Jiang replied, understanding his suggestion. Yet, she had her reservations. "But the Qin family is quite substantial. Their prices for herbal medicine may not be lower than what we have now."
Clark Gu explained further, "The Qin family had promised that if someone could cure Mr. Qin, they would provide a batch of expensive herbal medicine for free, and even in the future, they'd offer herbal medicine at half the price."
Hearing this, Ja Jiang's eyes lit up, and a heavy burden lifted from her heart. "Such a great opportunity, why didn't you mention it earlier?"
Clark Gu chuckled, "I did consider it at one point, but you weren't here yet, and my abilities fell short. In the end, I gave up on the idea, and it slipped my mind until recently when I thought you might be able to help. What do you think?"
Ja Jiang immediately agreed, "Of course, no problem! Please contact the Qin family and ask when I can come over."
Seeing her eagerness to help the institute, Clark Gu's heart stirred, and he smiled, "I'll do that. Wait here for a moment."
He left the office to make the call while Ja Jiang waited inside. Regardless of Mr. Qin's condition, she was determined to do her best to heal him for the sake of the institute.
Shortly after, Clark Gu returned, and Ja Jiang inquired, "How did it go?"
Clark Gu nodded, "It went well. The Qin family hasn't found a doctor who can treat Mr. Qin yet. When I mentioned recommending someone, they agreed without hesitation."
"When should we go?" Ja Jiang asked eagerly.
"Tonight," Clark Gu replied.
Ja Jiang immediately agreed. M...
And the timing suited her well, she hoped to start as soon as possible.
"Could you please describe Mr. Qin's symptoms in detail? I want to prepare myself," Ja Jiang requested, her expression becoming serious when it came to medical matters.
Clark Gu nodded and proceeded to provide a detailed description of Mr. Qin's symptoms.
