"No! Don't! Stop it!" Ryan roared as he came to his senses.
He quickly grabbed his right wrist with his other hand, trying to prevent the bracelet from entering his body. His father had told him that the bracelet was the only thing his beloved mother had left him.
But time was not on his side—it was too late for Ryan. The bracelet attached itself to his wrist, and he felt its power coursing through his soul consciousness, reaching the depths of his body and even the tiniest of his nerves.
Bang!
When the bracelet circled around, Ryan's frail body shuddered at the unexpected impact. His entire body was suspended in a state of paralysis, which strangely comforted him, as if the bracelet was protecting him from its own impact.
He felt his entire being—bones, flesh, and blood—reformed in an instant, overflowing with a hidden power waiting to be unleashed.
During this transformation, the bracelet attached to him changed its appearance. It somehow made a connection with the central nervous system and the meridians throughout his body.
"What is happening?" Ryan felt his body change and noticed his hands trembling. His eyes were filled with panic, joy, and disbelief.
Tears of joy streamed down Ryan's face. He had forgotten about the bracelet left by his mother. The mystic spiritual meridian was circling round and round in his soul consciousness, connected to the very meridian center of his brain.
The spiritual meridian absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, flowing through Ryan's skull and implanting itself into his body.
The spiritual energy scoured every inch of his body, from nerves to flesh and blood, and even his soul. At last, it returned to the energy center, initiating the process of cultivation.
Now, the substance from the bracelet transformed exactly like the spiritual meridian. It was impossible for Ryan not to be excited or nervous. The power from the spiritual meridian he had lost for so long was finally returning.
Subconsciously, Ryan pushed this newly acquired spiritual meridian to absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.
Clatter...
Immediately, Ryan sensed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth around him rushing into his body like a river bursting through a dam. In a flash, every part of his being was filled with spiritual energy.
"Aha! This must be the spiritual meridian! The spiritual meridian... I knew it!"
Without thinking about anything else, Ryan stood up and roared with exhilaration. However, all the members of the Noel Clan were in the central courtyard, celebrating the new successor. There was no one else around Ryan's small, shabby courtyard to witness his transformation.
Crack!
In tune with Ryan's excited laughter, a sound like breaking glass emanated from his belly. Covered in the invisible spiritual energy of heaven and earth, Ryan's aura changed and elevated to a higher level. It was undoubtedly the sign of a breakthrough.
After regaining the spiritual meridian, Ryan quickly reached the second grade of Dermal Fortification. Having the spiritual meridian back made this change inevitable.
Ryan had once been a powerful warrior in the sixth grade of Dermal Fortification. Though his cultivation base was destroyed, he still had the physical foundation of someone in the sixth grade. Years of hard work had solidified his foundation.
He understood why he couldn't break through before. It wasn't just the lack of blood vitality but also the absence of his spiritual meridian.
Now, with the spiritual meridian restored, he felt like a river that had burst its banks, even stronger than before. Naturally, he could break through effortlessly.
"Dad, did you see it? I now have the spiritual meridian and can cultivate again," Ryan said excitedly, realizing he had reached the second grade of Dermal Fortification. He had reopened the door to the martial arts world.
"Nicholas, Gabriel, and all the bastards who betrayed me, just you wait and see. All of you will pay for what you've done to my dad and me," Ryan declared coldly, clenching his fists. It took a long time for Ryan to control his excitement and calm down.
"Dad said that the bracelet was given to me by Mom. Is Mom blessing me?" Ryan thought, feeling the spiritual meridian in his body and the ethereal glow of his skin.
When he was a boy, Fabian barely mentioned his mother and promised to tell him about her when he reached adulthood. When Ryan grew up, his father changed his mind, saying he would reveal her story when Ryan became the most powerful man in Stonebridge City.
"Mom, what kind of person were you? You couldn't be ordinary, leaving such a magical bracelet for me," Ryan wondered, thinking about everything that might be related to the bracelet his mother had passed down.
Crack!
Before he could think further, the courtyard door shattered into pieces. Three men in guard uniforms from the Noel Clan walked in with disdain.
The leader, a middle-aged man with a mustache and furtive eyes, had a wretched appearance. Ryan recognized him immediately: Hayes Wilson.
Hayes, at the fifth grade of Dermal Fortification, used to be Fabian's subordinate. He was also one of the people who had taken Ryan's spiritual meridian.
Behind Hayes were two burly men carrying the raw head of a wild beast. Ryan stared at it and saw it was the skull of a Bloodsnout Pig, so large it took two men to carry it.
"You idiots! What are you doing here?" Ryan demanded. Seeing Hayes, Ryan's hatred surged, coursing through his veins.
He wanted to kill Hayes immediately. But he forced himself to stay calm. If Hayes discovered he had regained his spiritual meridian, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Fuck! You're already a lowly loser, but you dare speak to me like that?" Hayes sneered, noticing the killing intent in Ryan's eyes. He couldn't believe this powerless being dared to talk to him like a proud prince.
In an instant, Hayes rushed toward Ryan and pounded his shoulder. Ryan spat blood and fell to the ground.
"Loser, don't even look at me like that. Or I'll dig out your eyes and crush your skull!" Hayes clapped and shouted angrily.
Feeling the pain all over his body, Ryan clenched his fists and stood up with difficulty.
Bang!
The two burly men threw the pig's head on the ground.
"Hey loser, Lord Nicholas sent this pig's head for you. He wants to share his happiness with you. Ahahaha!" Hayes kicked the pig's head toward Ryan and laughed so loud the yard echoed with his laughter.
"Haha, Lord Nicholas is so kind. He's the successor of the Noel Clan but still remembers his loser brother. He was afraid his brother would starve to death, so he sent a big pig's head. Aha!" The two burly men joined in the laughter.
Nicholas' real intention was clear to Ryan. He meant to call Ryan a fool, just like a pig.
Crack! Crack!
Ryan looked at the pig's head on the ground, then at the men laughing hysterically. Humiliation and fury almost drove him mad as he dug his nails deep into his palms.
But what could he do? Would he risk his life to get back at these people?
His father's former subordinate and two cooking servants dared to speak rudely and laugh at him recklessly. There was only one reason: Ryan had lost his power and fallen from grace—he was now a loser without strength.
He had to endure everything they did to him. He had to endure all the humiliation and suffering Nicholas and his crew inflicted.
For now, Ryan could do nothing but endure, waiting for the day when he could unleash his strength and seek revenge.
