The crowd erupted, with many people pointing and whispering. The Halenkamp family's bodyguards instantly surrounded them and warned in a firm tone, "Ms. Helenkamp is about to disembark from the plane. To avoid unnecessary trouble, if you have any disagreements, please resolve them outside!"
Imani flicked her wrist with a proud expression. "Sorry, I couldn't hold back. But you shouldn't be saying this to me. If she stops provoking me, I won't have to teach her how to behave publicly."
Given her status as Brandon's fiancée, the Halenkamp family bodyguards didn't dare to offend her too much. "Miss, please don't make things difficult for us, and do not provoke Ms. Thubron, or we'll have to ask you to leave."
Under the pressure from the Halenkamp family, Laura nodded reluctantly. As the Halenkamp family's bodyguards withdrew, the crowd resumed their discussions. Laura felt utterly humiliated, covering her cheek, her eyes filled with anger, "How dare you hit me?"
Imani replied casually, "That's just how I am. Is this your first day knowing me? You have to admit, the feeling of bullying with power is pretty nice. No wonder everyone wants to be a bad girl. Why don't you give it a try?"
Laura nodded repeatedly. "Fine, just you wait. I'll make sure you pay for that slap today!"
Imani feigned innocence, saying, "My hand seems to be itching again. What should I do?"
Laura bit her lip and backed away in fear. Imani tilted her chin slightly, a disdainful smirk playing on her lips. Just then, the crowd was suddenly silent. The cabin door opened, and a woman dressed in an elegant white gown stepped out. Even with sunglasses, her stunning beauty was rugged to hide. Her gaze fell, spreading an invisible pressure.
Everyone present was from the elite circle of Eastvale, but in the face of her powerful aura, the men bowed their heads, not daring to show any disrespectful thoughts. Even the women, including Laura, followed suit. Only Adonis instinctively directed his gaze toward Imani, focusing solely on her striking red dress fluttering in the wind.
At the cabin door, Ingrid squinted slightly, a flicker of interest in her eyes. "Brandon, is that your fiancée? She had an attitude."
Brandon concealed his enthusiasm, quickly bowing his head. "Apologies, Ms. Halenkamp. She comes from a humble family and hasn't seen much of the world. Please excuse her."
Ingrid toned down her intensity, smiling. "You have good taste in woman."
Her smile was like the warmth of spring water, causing ripples in Brandon's heart. He was too captivated to think of anything else, his excitement growing stronger by the moment.
Suddenly, Ingrid seemed to notice something, her eyes widening, fists clenching, and breath quickening. Her gaze searched the crowd as if looking for someone.
Brandon was surprised to see Ingrid so out of character. "Ms. Halenkamp, what's the matter?"
After a moment, Ingrid couldn't find what she was looking for and reluctantly withdrew her gaze, speaking wistfully, "It's nothing. I heard the Thubron family had a misunderstanding with Arielle. Is that true?"
Brandon immediately straightened up. "I've heard about it too. It's the Thubron family's fault for not knowing their place. A humble family should know better. I'll make sure they apologize in person."
Ingrid waved her hand, slowly descending the plane. "I've noted your contributions over the past two years. Since Imani is your fiancée, bring her to tonight's celebration banquet. I'll see what I can do. Although Arielle is from the branch family, she's been favored by our head family lately and has become quite arrogant. I can't guarantee good resolution."
Brandon replied respectfully, "Thank you for your concern, Ms. Halenkamp."
As the Halenkamp family convoy left, the crowd began to disperse. Laura emerged, drawing everyone's attention. "Brandon!"
Those in the know exchanged amused glances, their whispers growing louder.
Brandon nodded slightly, then focused on Imani, his expression slightly displeased. "Coming from such a humble family, is this how the Thubron family raised you? Fighting in public—do you not know your status? You may not care about your reputation, but the Quinny family does."
Laura acted innocent, pleading for Imani, "Brandon, it's not Imani's fault. It's my..."
Brandon interrupted, "No need to defend her! Imani, causing trouble at home is one thing, but do you even realize the significance of today's event? It's only because Ms. Halenkamp spared you on my account that you're not in serious trouble. What were you planning to do otherwise?"
Imani raised an eyebrow. "Why don't you ask why I hit her?"
Brandon retorted, "Do I need to ask? Everyone knows your temper. I've spoiled you too much over the years. The Thubron family has become reckless and brazen. How dare they offend the Halenkamp family? Did your foolish brother have a death wish? Do you think the Thubron family can rise to the top just because you're engaged to me?"
As his words fell, Brandon took a closer look at Imani. Given the Thubron family's status, Imani wasn't qualified to be engaged to him. But having been rejected by Ingrid, he settled for Imani. Besides, how could he continue his escapades if he married someone of equal status?
Imani's title as fiancée was just an excuse to silence rumors and continue his indulgence openly. Being from a humble family, even if Imani knew he was sleeping with other women, she could only turn a blind eye. Therefore, Brandon never took the engagement seriously or considered his role as a fiancé. Two years of indulgence and countless women had made him nearly forget the existence of his fiancée.
But seeing Imani today, Brandon was surprised to find she had become so dazzling in two years. The Thubron family might not compare to the Halenkamp family, but in terms of charisma, Imani was almost on par with Ingrid. While Ingrid resembled a regal peony, Imani resembled a plum blossom in the snow, fierce and fragrant, sparking a man's primal desire to conquer.
His gaze fell on Imani's graceful collarbone and her skin. Brandon's eyes burned with desire, his tone softening. "Perhaps I've neglected you these past two years. From now on, remember your status. You're not only the eldest daughter of the Thubron family but also my fiancee."
Seeing Imani remained expressionless and cold, Brandon offered a way out. "I know about your brother's situation. Don't worry, I've spoken to Ms. Halenkamp. The Halenkamp family won't pursue the matter immediately. With my influence, it shouldn't be hard to resolve. I'm tired. Let's discuss this later. Ride with me, and I'll inform the Thubron family you'll be home later."
As he spoke, he reached for Imani's wrist. His intention was clear.
