"It's over, Father! They killed the Kenion family members. What should we do? Will the Kenion family blame us?" Bristol's face was full of panic.
Kate was even more at a loss. She thought, "Did Kayden die just like that? Even the two elders he brought along had also perished!"
Slap!
At that moment, Landry slapped Bristol hard across the face. "Hmph, this is all your fault! We wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for your desire to cling to Kayden! Zane's cultivation must have been restored, and his clan's elders are no ordinary figures! Not only did we offend the Casson family but also the Kenion family. Hmph, this happened all because of you, you dumbass!"
Bristol was stunned by the slap. She burst into tears, pointing angrily at Landry. "Wasn't I doing this for the sake of the Greaves family? If it weren't for me using the resources Zane gave me to support the Greaves family, would you be where you are today? Would you have reached the Misthaven Realm?! How dare you hit me?"
Landry regretted his actions when he saw Bristol sobbing. He stared blankly at his own hand.
"Enough!" At that moment, an older woman with a cane slowly entered the main hall.
"Mdm. Greaves!" Landry, Bristol, and the others greeted her with respect as excitement filled their faces.
The newcomer was none other than the Greaves family's matriarch, Alice.
"I already know everything," Alice slowly walked to the main seat, her gaze solemnly falling on the bloodstains in the hall.
"Mdm. Greaves, what should we do?" Landry asked respectfully, unsure of what to do.
"Mdm. Greaves, Father hit me," Bristol walked up to Alice, clinging to her arm, sniffling with reddened eyes.
"Landry, how can you blame Bristol for this?"
Alice glared at Landry, then gently patted Bristol's hand. "Since we've already offended the Casson family, we must fully embrace the Kenion family's support."
Hearing this, everyone in the hall was stunned.
"Mdm. Greaves, are you saying...?" Landry hesitated.
"That's right. We will publicly announce that Kayden and Bristol were engaged and had already consummated their marriage!"
Everyone froze.
Bristol's face turned bright red. "Mdm. Greaves, what are you saying? I am still a virgin..."
Alice patted her hand gently, speaking kindly, "I know. This is just a strategy."
Her gaze turned sharp as she looked at Landry and everyone else in the hall, her voice turning cold, "You will all follow my instructions. We will declare that Bristol and Kayden had consummated their marriage and were engaged!"
She continued, "However, Zane, out of resentment, fought Kayden! He then used Chad and Roman to kill him and even destroyed the corpse."
The entire hall fell silent as everyone inhaled sharply.
Bang!
Alice struck the floor with her cane as if hammering into everyone's hearts. "Did you all hear me?"
"Understood!" Everyone in the hall responded in unison.
They all thought Alice's plan was brilliant. Not only would it tie them firmly to the Kenion family, but it would also isolate the Casson family. After all, who would still dare to associate with the Casson family after they offended the Kenion family?
Moreover, Zane might even gain a reputation as a petty, narrow-minded person who didn't know his place!
"Landry, you are responsible for contacting the Kenion family and telling them that the Casson family killed Kayden! Furthermore, even if Kayden is dead, Bristol is still their daughter-in-law, and we request that they send people to handle this matter." Alice spoke indifferently, her eyes deep and unreadable.
"Okay," Landry answered, "You're wise, Mdm. Greaves."
At this moment, Alice's gaze fell upon Kate. "Ms. Lashbrook."
Kate snapped back to reality, still feeling dazed. But she quickly understood what was implied and immediately responded, "Mdm. Greaves, I know what to do! I am willing to testify."
"Good. Also, have your mother help make things difficult for Zane in the Khidal Empire Academy! At the very least, ensure that when the Kenion family takes action against the Casson family, the Khidal Royal Family, and the Khidal Empire Academy remain neutral," Alice said calmly.
Kate's eyes lit up, and she immediately responded. "Got it."
"Alright, everyone, disperse." Alice waved her hand, "If we execute this well, it might even be our chance to enter the Holy Land."
Landry and the others' eyes brightened upon hearing this.
"You're wise, Ms. Greaves."
Everyone respectfully bowed before going off to carry out their tasks.
Before long, the news that Zane had gone to the Greaves family to break off his engagement, only for the Greaves family to turn around and establish a marriage agreement with Kayden, spread quickly throughout Grester.
Particularly, the rumor that Zane, out of jealousy, fought Kayden and, with the help of Chad and Roman, killed him and destroyed his corpse exploded like a thunderclap, shocking the entire city.
The entire city was in turmoil for a time, with people discussing it endlessly.
After all, the young master from a family of the Holy Land had tragically died in Grester, and it was unlikely that the Emperor of the Khidal Empire would be able to explain this.
Thus, a storm of trouble surged toward the Casson family, forming an overwhelming crisis.
Meanwhile, Zane immediately entered the family's council hall upon returning home.
"Mr. Silas, these spirit stones were originally given to me by you. I am now returning them to the family to relieve our urgent needs."
Zane handed a black spatial ring to Silas.
Silas and the other elders looked at Zane with great appreciation.
"Keep it. Your intentions alone are enough to make me happy. Our family still has money. You needn't worry," Silas said kindly.
"Mr. Silas, the family spent vast resources and manpower searching for me over the past year..." Zane began, but Nina interrupted him.
"Since Zane is so filial, then Mr. Silas, you should at least accept half of it."
Nina, a gentle and beautiful woman, smiled kindly at Zane and said, "Zane, there's no need for unnecessary words. Keep the rest for your cultivation, and don't refuse."
Hearing this, Silas didn't argue further and accepted half of the spirit stones before returning the rest to Zane.
Zane nodded and said no more. He could tell these elders genuinely cared for him. It filled his heart with warmth.
At that moment, Silas chuckled, "Zane, Chad and Roman have already told us about what happened at the Greaves Residence."
"It was reckless of me. I accept any punishment." Zane immediately bowed.
"Hahaha, punishment? What nonsense?" Silas laughed heartily. "You did well. From now on, do whatever you want! If any young people or those slightly stronger than you challenge you or try to hunt you down, we won't interfere. But if the older generation dares to act, we old folks won't sit idly by. As for Kayden, killing him is no big deal. There's no need to fear the Kenion family. He was just the son of an elder from the side branch. They likely do not even favor him. Even if the Kenion family comes for revenge, we will show them the might of our Casson family's Tyrant's Bloodline!"
Zane was incredibly moved when he heard this.
