"Could you go a bit slower, gentler..."
"Why?"
"It's my first time. I'm a bit scared..."
"Then, turn around! It won't hurt from behind, and I'm really good at this!"
"Really? It won't hurt from behind?"
"Of course. Everyone who's tried it thinks it's awesome!"
The woman blushed and asked, "Are you sure?"
Silas Cutmore was speechless. "Of course! I can make you feel very comfortable, even from the front."
"But..."
"Hang on tight! I'm all set! If we miss the timing, it won't be as good..."
Inside a Porsche, Silas was talking to a woman. She had a beautiful oval face and was dressed in a chic office suit, her alluring figure unmistakable. She was the epitome of a stunning woman.
Her breathing was quick and tense while Silas swallowed hard a few times.
Just as the woman turned around and leaned on the driver's seat, she couldn't bear it anymore and fainted.
Looking at the curve of her back, Silas felt his mouth dry up.
"What a perfect figure!" he thought. But he dared not hesitate, or else her condition could worsen, which could lead to paralysis.
Silas hadn't anticipated crossing paths with this woman. He had been walking a long way when he came across her car with a flat tire. After helping her change it, he asked for a ride to Eastville.
The woman introduced herself as Rhea Smut, offering to help Silas find a job and provide lodging if he were from the countryside.
But before she could finish speaking, Rhea experienced chest pain and began to shiver, prompting Silas to start treatment. He initially planned to perform acupuncture on her chest, but Rhea was scared of the pain and unfamiliar with acupuncture. Hence, the conversation led to her turning around for a back acupuncture session.
After checking her pulse, Silas frowned slightly. "Now that we're doing it from the back, the effect is significantly weaker! I'll have to perform acupressure on the chest instead."
Silas made his decision, immediately turning Rhea over to start the acupressure.
About a minute later, Rhea gasped and awoke from her faint.
A rush of indescribable sensations made her blush furiously. Noticing Silas' hands still on her, she slapped him.
"You pervert! How dare you take advantage of me?!"
"Didn't you say you'd do acupuncture? Why did you grope me when I fainted?"
"Are you a roadside pervert prowling Eastville?!"
Silas caught her wrist and said, exasperated, "I'm no roadside pervert; I'm here to fulfill a marriage contract with Kelsey Goulty from the Goulty family."
Rhea paused in confusion.
A marriage contract with Kelsey Goulty? The Goultys had recently sent Rhea an invitation, hoping she'd attend as a guest. But she had other plans and didn't intend to go.
However, she recalled that the groom's name on the invitation was Emmett Lyson, the eldest scion of the Lyson family, not Silas!
"You really are making this up!" Rhea exclaimed.
"My car's connected! I'll report you to the police for being a pervert!"
Silas replied, "Ms. Smut, please be reasonable!"
"If I hadn't treated you, you'd already be in a vegetative state."
Rhea, unable to move as Silas held her wrist, was both anxious and angry.
"You jerk! I just had a little headache, and you're cursing me to be a vegetable!"
"And besides, who treats by groping someone's chest?"
Silas shook his head. "If I'm not mistaken, you've had these symptoms for exactly a week, right?"
"The meridian from your heart to your neck is obstructed, so... it required chest treatment."
"Coincidentally, your menstrual cycle made it worse. Without timely treatment, your brain could suffer severe hypoxia, leading to a vegetative state."
Rhea stopped struggling, replaced with shock. "How did you know my meridian was blocked?"
A week ago, she started having frequent headaches, and medication wasn't helping. Just yesterday, a comprehensive high-tech examination at the hospital revealed an obstructed heart-to-neck meridian. She hadn't even begun treatment.
Yet Silas discerned it with just his eyes?!
"I have medical knowledge," Silas said confidently. "If I didn't have other matters to attend to, I could even cure your menstrual pain!"
He thought that since Rhea had given him a ride and had a feminine body, he felt compelled to help. Otherwise, he'd have minded his own business.
But given her temperament, perhaps less contact was better. With that thought, Silas opened the car door and left.
"You scoundrel, stop right there..."
Rhea, flustered, got up to chase him but suddenly paused.
"I'm... actually cured?"
She hadn't just been suffering from headaches but also a numb, swollen neck! Now, all symptoms were gone!
"He could probably heal my grandpa, too!"
Rhea's grandfather had also been diagnosed with an obstructed heart-to-neck meridian, undergoing numerous treatments and medications. Recently, his condition had worsened, often causing him to faint.
Even Eastville's divine healer, Wayne Casson, had declared that only conservative daily treatment was possible, warning that the next episode might require amputation to save his life.
However, such a drastic measure was unbearable for both Chandler Smut and the entire Smut family!
Rhea's eyes lit up. "If he can cure my grandpa, he won't have to lose his arms!"
"I must find him immediately!"
Meanwhile, Silas had reached the Goulty Manor.
A servant went to inform them of his arrival.
While waiting, his mind wandered back to the words of his nine mentors before he left.
"Silas, here—these ancient recipes for beauty pills, whitening cream, and body-enhancement balm are all yours now. From this day on, you will be every woman's best friend."
"Take this Divine Medicine Manual with you. No illness in the world will be a problem anymore. Just wait—people will be lining up to be your apprentice. It'll be a headache!"
"I once saved someone from the Goulty family. In return, they gave me a marriage contract. Time to honor it! Their granddaughter's a real beauty—fair skin, good looks, and legs for days..."
"Don't get all sentimental about leaving us. Don't you want to find out about your past? I gave that jade pendant to the Goultys as a token of the engagement! Go to Eastville nd fulfill it."
"Plus, according to our divination, your origins are there, too. Here—take this ring."
Before long, a servant from the Goulty family emerged, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Mr. Cutmore, please come with me. Mr. Goulty Sr. is waiting for you."
Silas entered the house with the servant accompanying him.
The Goulty Manor was adorned with lights and decorations, buzzing with activity.
Today was the grand occasion of Kelsey and Emmett's engagement.
Inside the grand hall, Anthony Goulty greeted Silas warmly, "Silas, you're here for the marriage contract, but why didn't your mentor come?"
It was Silas' third mentor who had treated Anthony.
Remembering his mentors' instructions to say they were deceased, Silas replied, "He has passed away."
Anthony was stunned. "Impossible! He was a divine healer!"
Silas didn't know how to continue, for with his mentor's skills, death seemed unlikely!
Anthony assumed Silas didn't wish to discuss painful memories, so he didn't press further.
He continued, "So how much of the divine healing arts did you learn?"
Silas rubbed his nose, admitting, "I only learned the basics. The rest I picked up from medical books."
Silas spoke truthfully.
His mentors taught him basic medicine, pharmacology, martial arts, and other disciplines, claiming his unique constitution and talent required a completely different martial path. They encouraged him to study various techniques, scrolls, and medical texts.
Whenever he encountered difficulties, they would discuss and spar with him. Eventually, Silas surpassed them all.
Kelsey's father, Jared Goulty, glanced at Silas.
He remarked, "Father, I believe that old man who treated you was just a charlatan! Your condition was improving, and he merely capitalized on it with some medicine and acupuncture, claiming credit!"
Kelsey added, "Exactly! Grandpa, before that charlatan treated you, you'd already consulted many renowned doctors and taken expensive medicines! They were the real cure!"
"That charlatan was a fraud. You should never have given him a marriage contract."
Anthony's once-friendly demeanor toward Silas faded.
He thought perhaps Silas had been abandoned by his mentor due to poor aptitude, learning only the basics!
"He's self-taught in medicine? What could he have possibly learned? Likely not even the basics!"
