Beatrice stopped the girl's attempt to call the cops.
"Beatrice, who is this dude? Why did you suddenly bring a guy home? You scared the hell out of me."
The girl sat on the couch, patting her chest to calm down, glaring at Gordon with discontent.
"He's Gordon York."
Beatrice replied flatly, giving Gordon a quick look.
"What? He's the notorious Gordon York? Wasn't he supposed to be in a coma in the hospital?"
Beatrice's words left the girl stunned. Her look at Gordon turned even more disdainful.
If it weren't for Gordon, Beatrice wouldn't have been kicked out of the Lake family, and so many things would not have happened, leaving her in such a dire situation.
The girl never liked Gordon.
"Why did you bring him back?" she complained.
"He's got nowhere else to go, so he'll crash here for now," Beatrice said.
"What? He's going to stay here?"
The girl looked frustrated and fed up.
Beatrice ignored her, turned to Gordon, and said, "Gordon, this is my cousin, Amber Stone."
"Oh, I know you."
Gordon remarked, extending his hand toward Amber with a knowing smile.
"Hmph!"
Amber snorted in disdain, didn't even glance at Gordon, leaving his hand awkwardly hanging.
Gordon just shrugged, feeling helpless. He wouldn't bother arguing with a young girl as a former Demon Lord.
Though he understood why the former owner of this body wasn't well-liked.
Beatrice shook her head.
She knew Amber's temperament well, and getting along with Gordon would be difficult.
"It's getting late. Let's head out for dinner."
Beatrice said, glancing at her watch.
"Sure!"
Amber chirped, linking arms with Beatrice and heading out, completely ignoring Gordon.
Gordon didn't tag along. As a former Demon Lord, he had his pride. Instead, he pulled out a cigarette and lit it, letting it dangle from his lips.
"Thank goodness that jerk knew better than to follow us."
Amber whispered to Beatrice as they left.
Hearing this, Beatrice paused, glancing back at Gordon, who didn't seem to care. She asked, "Gordon, why don't you come along?"
"No thanks!"
Gordon replied nonchalantly.
"As if anyone wants you to come! Let's go!"
Amber scoffed, dragging Beatrice away quickly.
Once they left, Gordon yawned, stretched lazily, and headed out to buy groceries.
Given his exceptional culinary skills, he planned to cook dinner. After being reborn, he deserved a feast to reward himself.
Two hours later, the dining table was loaded with a sumptuous spread of dishes Gordon had whipped up, full of color, aroma, and taste.
If Beatrice and Amber saw this feast, they'd regret going out to eat.
Buzz!
Just as Gordon was about to dig in, his phone buzzed. His brows furrowed.
It was an unfamiliar number.
He glanced at it and hung up.
But moments later, the phone vibrated again.
Annoyed, Gordon finally answered, "Who is this?"
"Gordon, it's me, Amber. Something terrible has happened. Beatrice has been kidnapped!"
Amber's anxious voice came through the phone.
"What happened?" Gordon's expression shifted, his voice turning serious.
"I... I don't know," Amber replied over the phone.
"Where are you now?"
"I'm at the entrance of Greenview Café."
"Stay there. I'll be right over!"
Gordon put down his fork and rushed out the door, grabbing a cab to Greenview Café.
When Gordon arrived at the café, Amber stood alone, looking anxious.
"Gordon, over here!"
Seeing him, Amber waved frantically, her relief palpable.
Amber had no friends in the city. She only had Beatrice.
Despite her intense dislike for Gordon, he was the only person she could turn to.
She had saved his number earlier during dinner.
"What exactly happened?" Gordon asked, scanning the area and noticing the lack of security cameras, which made him frown.
"I don't know. After dinner, we had coffee and left when a van drove by and snatched Beatrice. Do you think she'll be okay?" Amber's face was full of worry.
"Did you call the cops?" Gordon asked again.
"No. I was scared they'd hurt her if I did," Amber answered quickly.
"Smart move."
Gordon nodded approvingly.
With the cops involved, his hands would be tied.
"Gordon, what should we do now? We have to find a way to save Beatrice," Amber urged, her anxiety growing.
Gordon didn't respond but fiddled with his phone, which made Amber furious. "Gordon, Beatrice has been kidnapped, and you're just playing with your phone? Don't you have a conscience?"
"Let's go. I know where she is."
Gordon said calmly, right after Amber finished her rant.
"What? You know where she is? How?"
Amber was bewildered, filled with questions.
"Just follow me."
"Driver, take us to Everspring Manor."
Gordon grabbed a cab.
Amber followed, her mind swirling with confusion.
"Gordon, why are we going to Everspring Manor? It's a private residential area."
"Do you know where Beatrice is?"
Sitting in the taxi, watching the scenery blur by, Amber couldn't help but ask.
"Want to know?" Gordon teased.
He knew Beatrice's location thanks to his new phone, equipped with satellite tracking. It allowed him to pinpoint her location precisely.
That's the power of technology.
Despite spending over a hundred thousand on gadgets and weapons, it was worth every penny, proving its value immediately.
Without this equipment, finding Beatrice wouldn't have been so easy.
Everspring Manor was a renowned private residential area in Starville, home to its wealthiest residents.
Inside Villa 18's living room, Beatrice was tied securely to a wooden chair, the ropes accentuating her voluptuous figure.
A middle-aged man with a bandaged head sipped wine on the couch, his eyes lingering over Beatrice's curves with a wicked smile. "No wonder Mr. Nicholas fancies her. Your body and pretty face are truly top-notch. Even I want a taste..."
"Bastard, who are you? Let me go!"
Beatrice demanded coldly.
"Sorry, we're not humans, we're wolves. I'm the king of wolves, known as Darkfang Wolf."
Darkfang Wolf declared, taking a sip of wine with a smug grin.
"The notorious Darkfang Wolf of the Iron Fang Gang?"
Beatrice's expression changed, recognizing the name.
"I'm flattered that Ms. Beatrice knows of my reputation. As a token of our first meeting, I have something special for you to try."
Darkfang Wolf's eyes gleamed with lust and menace.
Before Nicholas arrived, he planned to have his way with her. It wouldn't harm her, after all.
"What is it?" Beatrice replied icily.
"What else? My third leg, of course!"
Darkfang Wolf laughed wickedly.
In the hall, more than a dozen members of the Iron Fang Gang burst into wicked laughter upon hearing Darkfang Wolf's words.
"Shameless!" Beatrice spat.
"We're not just shameless, we're downright filthy! Boys, pry her mouth open for me!"
Darkfang Wolf laughed heartily, set down his wine glass, and walked over to Beatrice.
Looking down at her from above, he uttered wicked and brazen words.
A beauty of this caliber had to be enjoyed by him first.
After properly "training" her, she would be fit to be handed over to Nicholas.
As his words fell, two Iron Fang Gang members stepped toward Beatrice, intending to pry open her mouth, while Darkfang Wolf began unbuckling his belt.
But just as the vile scene was about to unfold, a chilling voice interrupted,
"Today, if anyone dares touch her, I'll kill everyone!"
