Gordon didn't go back to his hospital room. Instead, he went straight to the discharge desk to sort the paperwork.
He was shocked and confused when he found out he still owed a lot on his medical bills.
How could the eldest son of the York family be stuck with hospital bills?
People would laugh their heads off if they found out.
"Wait here, I'm going home to get the cash."
After saying that, Gordon strode out of the hospital.
He needed to go home to fetch the money.
When Beatrice finished her tasks and returned to the hospital room, she discovered that Gordon had gone to handle the discharge procedures. However, she couldn't find him anywhere.
"Did a patient named Gordon York come here for discharge procedures?"
Beatrice asked the staff.
"Yes, Ms. Lake. But he couldn't complete the discharge because he still owes a significant amount on his medical bills. He said he would go home to get the money," the staff answered respectfully.
Hearing this, Beatrice furrowed her brows, looking at the hospital entrance with a complicated expression.
Gordon's unpaid bills were because she hadn't had a chance to transfer her salary to cover the expenses.
Why would Gordon say he'd go home to get money?
He didn't have a home.
Going to the York residence was asking for humiliation.
Beatrice's brow creased with a hint of worry.
Just as she was about to chase after Gordon, a nurse hurriedly approached her, forcing her to abandon the thought.
"Let him face the reality sooner rather than later."
Beatrice sighed softly and rushed toward the patient's room with the nurse.
The Yale Mansion was located in the city center.
It was the most famous mansion in Starville and home to the Yale family.
When Gordon arrived at the entrance of the mansion, he was stopped by the security guards.
"You don't even recognize me?"
Gordon's brows furrowed slightly as he spoke coldly to the guard blocking his way.
"Who the heck are you?"
The guard looked at Gordon in his hospital gown, feeling he looked familiar but couldn't quite place him.
"I'm Gordon York, dammit!" Gordon answered icily.
"Gor... Gordon? Impossible! Weren't you in a car accident and become unconscious? How are you back now?"
The guard was dumbfounded, his face showing undisguised surprise.
"Cut the crap and let me in!"
Gordon's voice was full of impatience.
"Let you in? Who do you think you are? You won't be allowed in even if you are Gordon York."
Just as Gordon finished speaking, a voice filled with authority and mockery rang out.
With the sound, the security chief respectfully led a pair of young men and women out of the courtyard.
The man was slender, his complexion slightly pale. He was dressed in a designer suit, wore thick glasses, and looked frail.
The woman was around thirty. She had a somewhat plump figure. Her face was heavily made-up with thick foundation and bright red lipstick, looking every bit the domineering shrew.
They were Colin York and Lydia York, siblings and direct descendants of the Yale family.
"What do you mean by that?"
Gordon's face turned icy as he focused on the security chief, speaking coldly.
"Gordon, let me tell you," Colin grinned, speaking with a playful tone.
He hadn't expected this worthless waste to wake up, let alone have the audacity to return to the Yale family.
"Who are you?"
Gordon looked at Colin and Lydia.
His brows furrowed. He was unable to recall them due to partial amnesia from the accident.
"Who are we? Haha! Gordon, you idiot, can't even recognize us."
Colin couldn't help but laugh wildly.
"He's a moron, lying in a hospital bed for three years has turned him into a total brain-dead idiot, it's truly pathetic," Lydia sneered with her caked-up face plastered with makeup.
Her gaze was mocking as she looked at Gordon.
Once, Gordon was the future heir of the York Group, thanks to his father's powerful business acumen that brought the York family to glory.
His exceptional status and arrogance provoked dissatisfaction and exclusion from many of the family, including Lydia and Colin.
Gordon urgently needed to fetch money for his discharge.
Not wanting to bother with these punks. He spoke coldly, "I have no time to waste on you. Get out of my way and let me in."
"Go in?"
Hearing Gordon's words, Lydia and Colin's faces were full of mockery.
"A loser like you thinks you can waltz into the Yale Mansion? Stop dreaming!"
"Even though I don't know how you woke you from your vegetative state, you haven't grasped the situation."
"Do you think you're still the York family heir? Dream on. Your parents died three years ago, and you were kicked out of the York family, erased from the family register."
"There's no place for you in the York family anymore! You're a nobody now, just a pathetic loser. Haha."
Colin and Lydia laughed as they finished speaking, looking at Gordon as if he were a fool.
Gordon's face changed slightly at their words, remembering that Ralph had told Beatrice at the hospital about his parents' deaths.
What went down in those three years?
Why was he expelled and even removed from the family register?
Gordon was filled with questions.
"Now you're the fool, aren't you?"
Lydia and Colin laughed louder at Gordon's confused face.
"The York family doesn't mean squat to me. They can kick me out, but they'll regret it one day!"
Gordon's eyes flashed coldly, his words full of defiance.
With that, he turned and left.
Since he was expelled, the York Mansion wasn't worth entering.
"Think you can just leave? You can't just come and go from the York Mansion as you please." Colin's icy voice cut through as Gordon turned away.
"Guards, block him!"
"Yes, sir!"
When Colin gave the orders, the security chief led four guards to surround Gordon.
"You dare challenge me?"
Gordon's eyes filled with murderous intent as he spoke coldly.
These lowly punks had crossed him too many times.
"Dare? Haha... you're the one looking for death. You should never have woken up. Just go back to the hospital and wait to die so you won't be an eyesore!"
"What are you waiting for? Beat him up!"
Lydia and Colin laughed as if they had heard the world's funniest joke, their words dripping with malice.
"Yes!"
With their orders, the guards closed in, wielding batons to block Gordon's path, leaving him no room to escape.
Gordon, now expelled from the York family, was no longer respected by the guards.
"Beat him to death!"
Lydia was thrilled, clapping her hands like a maniac as she shrieked.
Bang!
But in the next instant, Lydia's cheer was cut short. Her mouth gaped, and her eyes were wide with shock.
Under her stunned gaze, Gordon spun. With his hands on the ground, his right leg swept out in a powerful arc, taking out the guards' legs in a single, fluid motion.
Crack!
With the sound of bones breaking and dull thuds, the guards fell to the ground, clutching their shattered legs and howling in pain, unable to stand again.
The sight left Colin dumbfounded.
Gordon's expression remained unreadable. He approached the siblings.
He was no longer the weak Gordon.
"Wha... what are you going to do?"
Lydia and Colin stammered, cold sweat dripping as they watched Gordon approach.
His presence was intimidating.
They never imagined Gordon could defeat the guards so easily, a complete departure from their previous impression of him.
"Gordon, if you dare harm me, I'll make sure you wish you were dead! I might let this slide if you kneel and beg for mercy now!"
Colin mustered his courage, shouting at Gordon with all his might.
Thud!
However, before Colin could finish, Gordon flashed forward and seized his collar. He drove his knee powerfully into Colin's abdomen.
"Ugh!"
"Ahh!"
The sound of retching and screams filled the air as Colin doubled over in agony, his face contorted with pain.
"You bastard, I'll kill you!" Colin roared.
His anger flared, but Gordon tossed him aside like a ragdoll, sending him crashing into the grass, unable to rise.
Gordon's face remained impassive as he turned his icy gaze on Lydia, who looked back in terror.
"Wha... what are you going to do? You filthy bastard, don't come any closer! I'll make your life in Starville hell if you lay a finger on me!" Lydia shrieked, her voice trembling as Gordon approached like a vengeful spirit.
"I don't hit women," Gordon stated coldly, causing Lydia to exhale in relief.
"Too bad, you're not a woman in my eyes, just a sow."
Suddenly, Gordon slapped her heavily across her caked-up face.
Slap!
The sound of the slap echoed as Lydia's makeup scattered, revealing her sallow skin, sending her sprawling, blood spraying from her mouth.
"You filthy scum, I'll kill you!"
Lydia was used to being the bully. She had never been treated like this before.
Screaming, she lunged at Gordon, her manicured nails aiming to claw him in a desperate attack.
"Lydia, let me give you some advice. Quit having sex, maybe you'll have your period regularly," Gordon quipped, his patience wearing thin.
A silver needle flicked from his hand and embedded in Lydia's abdomen, freezing her in place.
"Ahh!"
In the next moment, Lydia's face twisted in horror, her scream echoing as dark red liquid gushed from her, staining her dress a vivid crimson, leaving her standing in shock.
Was this her period?
"Damn, you filthy scum! Die!"
Meanwhile, Colin, who had been tossed aside, grabbed a baton and rushed at Gordon with fury.
But without turning, Gordon kicked out.
Thud!
"Ugh!"
Colin was struck in the abdomen.
Blood spewed from his mouth as he crashed into a distant pole, leaving it shaking.
As he struggled to rise, Gordon appeared before him like a ghost, freezing Colin in place, his throat dry with fear.
In a desperate move, Colin dropped to his knees before Gordon, his voice trembling as he begged for his life.
"Please, Gordon... spare me... I was wrong."
"Tell me, what went down in those three years?" Gordon demanded, his voice leaving no room for refusal.
