As the first light of dawn streamed through the window, Gordon was already up.
Perhaps his body had experienced some transformation due to his rebirth. A good night's rest and some energy replenishment had greatly boosted his strength, far beyond that of normal people.
After breakfast, Gordon grabbed a cab and headed straight to the Iron Fang Gang's branch.
The Iron Fang Gang was one of the big four gangs in Starville. Darkfang Wolf was the branch leader, who owed Gordon a hundred thousand.
It was already ten-thirty when Gordon arrived at the Iron Fang Gang's branch.
After stating his purpose, a pretty receptionist showed Gordon to a seat in the lobby. "Mr. York, please wait here while I inform the boss."
She said before taking the elevator up to the office.
In the swanky office upstairs, Cole, all bandaged up and looking pretty beat-up, was sitting on a sofa, griping to the guy in front of him.
The man, around thirty, had a rugged face, a short beard, a Darkfang Wolf tattoo on his arm, and a chunky gold chain around his neck. He exuded an extraordinary presence.
Surrounded by bodyguards standing like statues behind him, amplifying his air of authority.
The man was Darkfang Wolf.
"Hey, Darkfang Wolf, I know you and Gordon used to be tight, but I gotta settle this score! No matter the cost, I want Gordon's life!"
After his rant, Cole handed a gold card to Darkfang Wolf.
Even though James had ordered big companies to blacklist Gordon, Cole wasn't satisfied, so he showed up to Iron Wolf Gang early.
"You must have misunderstood. I have no ties with that loser. Don't worry, I'll take care of him for you."
Darkfang Wolf replied with a smile, eyeing the gold card.
Knock! Knock!
A female secretary entered respectfully. "Boss, Gordon York claims to be your friend. He wants to see you."
"Haha, what a stroke of luck. I didn't have to find him. He came right to my doorstep!"
Cole was stunned by hearing this, but Darkfang Wolf just gave him a confident pat on the shoulder. "Relax, just sit back and enjoy the show. Watch how I deal with him."
"Bring him up."
Soon, Gordon was led into the office by the secretary.
He glanced at Cole, protected by the Iron Fang Gang members on the sofa, then at Darkfang Wolf, lounging in his chair, smoke curling from his lips. Gordon's handsome face remained unperturbed.
It was clear why Cole had come to see Darkfang Wolf.
"You wanted to see me?"
Darkfang Wolf placed his feet on the desk, puffing smoke, and looked at Gordon with disdain.
"I'm here to collect the hundred thousand you owe me."
Gordon replied coolly, devoid of emotion.
"You must have gone mad in the hospital! When did I ever owe you money?"
Darkfang Wolf sneered, his voice icy. "Trying to extort me, kid? You've got some nerve."
"Hey, Darkfang Wolf, why waste words? Just have the boys finish him off!"
Seeing Gordon's fearless demeanor, Cole, filled with hatred, couldn't help but interject.
Pulling out another bank card for Darkfang Wolf.
He was wealthy.
"Finish me off? Cole, do you think they even stand a chance against me?"
Gordon scoffed.
His words made Darkfang Wolf's eyes glint with amusement, as if he were watching a fool.
"Haha... You must be insane to think we're not capable!"
Darkfang Wolf laughed. "What are you waiting for? Chop him up and feed him to the dogs!"
With Darkfang Wolf's command, seven Iron Fang Gang members charged at Gordon, fists swinging.
"Hmph!"
The gang members were not ordinary. They moved with lethal precision, targeting Gordon's vital points like seasoned hitmen.
In response, Gordon's eyes went icy cold. With a mighty leap, he was airborne.
Gordon gracefully leapt over six feet high as the gang members closed in to dodge them. In mid-air, he twisted his body, shifting his weight, and swung his right leg like a whip.
The series of movements was executed flawlessly, fluidly, with no moment wasted.
Bang!
In the next instant, dull thuds echoed as Gordon's sweeping kick hit seven gang members, sending them flying. They crashed into the furniture and walls.
Gordon landed steadily on the ground.
His skill was remarkable.
"Darkfang Wolf, G-gordon suddenly became so formidable. Is there something wrong?"
Cole stammered, retreating behind Darkfang Wolf, his voice trembling.
"Relax. My bodyguards are ex-special forces. Dealing with someone like Gordon is child's play," Darkfang Wolf replied nonchalantly, taking a drag from his cigar.
"Kill him!"
As Darkfang Wolf spoke, two bodyguards sprang forth, charging at Gordon.
Their swift movements left ghostly trails in the air, easing Cole's anxiety.
Boom!
Crash!
Yet, before Darkfang Wolf's words fully registered, a sound reverberated.
Under the stunned, incredulous gazes of those present, Gordon appeared before the attacking bodyguards in a flash, his fists slamming into their chests with crushing force.
Their bodies froze, then flew back even faster, smashing through the bookshelves into dust.
This sudden event left Cole and Darkfang Wolf in shock.
Gordon approached Darkfang Wolf, expressionless, not sparing them a glance. He reached for a cigar on the desk.
"Damn!"
Seizing the momentary distraction, Darkfang Wolf cursed under his breath. A sharp knife appeared in his hand, lunging toward Gordon.
Bang!
Crack!
In that instant, Gordon moved faster, grabbing an ashtray from the desk and smashing it over Darkfang Wolf's head.
The sound of shattering glass and the crack of skull filled the room, making Darkfang Wolf's body tremble violently as crimson blood streamed down his face.
Gordon's previous gesture had merely been a feint to test Darkfang Wolf.
Witnessing the brutality, Cole was petrified, a puddle forming beneath him as he wet himself in fear.
He peed on himself.
Blood spurted from Darkfang Wolf's mouth as he gradually regained his senses, his gaze toward Gordon filled with undisguised terror.
Gordon grabbed a cigar, stuck it between his lips, and Darkfang Wolf, shaking, lit it up for him.
Gordon took a drag, exhaling a cloud of smoke into Darkfang Wolf's face. "Pay up!" he demanded, his tone brooking no argument.
At that moment, Gordon was like a sovereign, commanding the room.
His commanding presence left Darkfang Wolf with zero defiance.
Never in his wildest dreams did Darkfang Wolf imagine that the once-comatose Gordon would awaken so strong and fierce, a far cry from the man he once knew, stirring waves of shock and awe within him.
"Gulp!"
He swallowed hard, hurriedly retrieving a bank card and a black bag from the safe and presenting them to Gordon. "Mr. York, here's the hundred thousand I owe you. The password is six eights. The bag contains two hundred thousand dollars in interest over the years."
"You're smart."
Gordon pocketed the bank card, nodding in satisfaction.
He then turned his gaze to Cole.
"Gordon, I was wrong! I shouldn't have crossed you. Please, spare me. I promise I'll never oppose you again."
Cole pleaded, trembling on his knees, tears streaming down his face.
Unmoved, Gordon's voice was cold and merciless. "Cole, this is your second time opposing me. I'll spare your life. Darkfang Wolf, cut off one of his fingers!"
In the Asurian Westrealm, Gordon was known as the Demon Lord. Cutting off a finger was merciful. If this were the Asurian Westrealm, Cole would already be dead.
"This..."
Darkfang Wolf hesitated, caught off guard by Gordon's ruthlessness.
Cole was a member of the York family. Harming him meant making an enemy of the Yorks.
It was a cunning move.
"Yes!"
Feeling Gordon's icy gaze, Darkfang Wolf gritted his teeth, taking the knife and swiftly severing one of Cole's fingers.
"Ahhh!"
Blood splattered, and a scream echoed from Cole's mouth.
Gordon didn't look at him, grabbed the bag, and strolled out of the room.
Wherever he passed, none dared to stop him.
