"Wah!"
With a loud wail, the baby was finally born.
Castiel quickly took the towel someone handed him, wrapped up the baby, and gave it to the mother.
"Thank you..." The middle-aged woman thanked Castiel, tears streaming down her face as she held her newborn, beaming with happiness.
The people helping out nearby all breathed a sigh of relief and gave Castiel a thumbs-up.
"Boss, it's bad. There are a lot of cops outside, and they've surrounded us!" A tall thug rushed in from the exit, holding a gun, and shouted nervously at Baldie.
"Calm down. We've got so many hostages; I don't believe they'll dare to act rashly!" Menace filled Baldie's face as he scanned the room, his eyes landing on Nara.
Everyone huddled in the corner, looking terrified, while Baldie handed his gun to the guy next to him.
"Eddy, take them to the restroom. Randy and I will take this chick to talk to the cops."
The skinny thug nodded and turned to glare at the group.
Meanwhile, Baldie and the tall guy walked over to Nara.
"All of you, get to the restroom, now!" Waving his gun, the skinny thug yelled at the people in the corner.
But Castiel, crouching among them, had a cold glint in his eyes. He stood up with the rest, but kept his eyes on Nara.
Footsteps echoed as Baldie moved closer to Nara.
"Hurry it up!" Noticing something off about Castiel, the skinny thug pointed his gun at him, annoyed.
Just then, before the thug could finish his sentence, a silver needle flashed through the air as Castiel flicked his hand, hitting the skinny thug in the neck.
It all happened in a split second. Even the people right next to Castiel didn't notice and just kept shuffling nervously toward the restroom.
The skinny thug stood frozen, eyes wide, unable to move.
In a flash, Castiel snatched the gun from the thug and, without hesitation, fired.
The bullet whizzed through the air!
In the next moment, a spray of blood erupted from Baldie's back.
With a dull thud, Baldie fell into a pool of blood, his face frozen in shock and disbelief.
"Boss!" The tall thug next to Nara shouted in rage, instinctively raising his gun as he saw Castiel standing there with a weapon.
"Hah!"
With a swift, high-pitched shout, Nara reacted, delivering a side kick.
Though her upper body was bound, her kick landed squarely on the tall thug's groin.
Pain surged through him, his face turned pale, and he bent over.
Two quick shots rang out, and the tall thug's legs buckled as blood sprayed from his knees, sending him crashing to the ground.
"Nice work!" Castiel smiled, decked the skinny thug with one punch, then walked over to untie Nara.
As soon as she was untied, Nara ran over to Baldie, grabbed the remote for the explosives, and finally let out a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Castiel cast a furtive glance towards the hallway.
With all this commotion, it wouldn't be long before the police stormed in.
He pulled out a white cloth, wiped his prints off the gun, and returned it to Nara.
"So, how are you gonna thank me? If you want to thank me with yourself, I won't say no!"
"Who are you?"
Now that things had calmed down, Nara looked at Castiel suspiciously, trying to figure out who he really was.
She found it hard to believe that a doctor could possess such remarkable shooting skills and remain so calm after taking a life.
Before Castiel could answer, footsteps echoed from the other end of the hallway.
"Nara, are you alright?"
Footsteps approached, and soon a middle-aged police officer in uniform, flanked by several armed officers, burst in.
Nara had a powerful background; if anything happened to her, it would be way more than a deputy chief like him could handle.
"What?"
The officers entered the hallway, stunned by the scene before them.
Three thugs were on the floor: one was obviously dead from a gunshot, and the other two were knocked out at Nara's feet.
"Nara, did you do all this?"
The officer stared at Nara in disbelief.
"I..." Nara was about to explain when a commotion erupted behind her.
"Quick! They're here!"
Suddenly, a bunch of reporters with mics and cameras came rushing in.
"I'm reporting live from Jayton City Train Station!"
The sudden appearance of reporters left the police momentarily stunned. The middle-aged police officer, Clyde, glanced at Nara, holding the gun and explosive remote, and quickly praised her, "You're truly incredible, Officer Yare. Your actions today have protected the entire Jayton City Train Station and earned our admiration!"
"Sir, I..." Nara tried to explain, but the reporters crowded around her, bombarding her with questions.
She knew there was no point trying to explain now.
"Alright! Reporters, we need to continue our operations. Please leave."
With the two thugs in custody, Clyde broke into a big smile.
At his command, the officers escorted the reporters out.
Blending in with the crowd, Castiel slipped away, totally unnoticed, just as he wanted. He didn't want to be the center of attention or let the cops know he was the one who took out the thugs.
Nara handed the remote to Clyde, quickly scanning the crowd for someone.
Finally, she spotted a familiar back and couldn't help but smile. "Just who exactly is he?"
