The Fallon residence in Stridora was grand, with an imposing front gate opening up to a sprawling manor, a true testament to the family's power.
Aiden looked around curiously as they walked in, giving the ground a little stomp with his foot.
Greg Warner immediately scolded, "We're here to negotiate. Keep your eyes and hands to yourself, and don't mess things up!"
Aiden ignored him. The three followed a servant into the living room, where they waited for more than half an hour without anyone showing up, not even a cup of tea.
"We came here to negotiate, but the Fallon family leaves us hanging on purpose. This is just too much!" Greg complained, growing impatient.
He was Wade's bodyguard and the Larson family's number one fighter.
Aiden said coolly, "Just wait. No need to complain."
Greg shot him a glare and snapped, "You think a cripple like you can tell me what to do?"
"I can't tell if you're just young and stupid, or if you're crazy for cutting off Carlos Gray's hand."
"Let me tell you, acting tough gets you nowhere, and trying to scare people by acting crazy is even more useless!"
Aiden shot back, "So, what works then?"
Greg flashed his fist proudly. "This right here is what works!"
Aiden smiled calmly. "Alright then, I can't wait to see you in action."
"Other people's fists don't count, but mine do!"
"Not to brag, but the Fallon family's bodyguards are a joke. I could defeat them with a single punch!"
"If they try anything today, I'll let them see what I can do!"
Greg, nicknamed Iron Fist Warner, used to fight in underground boxing rings for two years. No wonder Wade paid a high price to hire him.
Aiden smiled calmly. "Alright then, I can't wait to see you in action."
Greg snorted, rolling his eyes. "Don't get all sarcastic, Aiden. If you get your ass kicked later, don't come begging me for help. I'm not gonna save you."
"Enough, you two." Amelia frowned, letting out a sigh.
"The Four Great Families are compelling."
"Even though the Fallon family is last among the four, they're way out of our league. If they wanted, they could crush the Larson family in a heartbeat."
"Even if they're letting us wait on purpose, what can we do about it?"
"Hahaha!"
Just as Amelia finished, a smug laugh came from outside the door. A young man in a flashy suit swaggered in.
Stefan and Carlos Gray followed him, along with more than a dozen men dressed like bodyguards.
Stefan looked pathetic, sitting in a wheelchair with his broken arm bandaged and hanging in a sling.
Carlos's hand had been sewn back on, and his whole arm was strapped to his chest. He winced in pain with every step.
The young man looked full of himself, oozing confidence and arrogance.
This was William Fallon, the third son of the Fallon family.
William strutted over to Amelia, eyeing her up and down with a greedy look.
"Ms. Larson, I didn't expect you to be so sharp. You're right. The Fallon family is one of Stridora's Four Great Families. We do have the power!"
"Since you understand this, tonight, you should know what choice to make, right?"
William reached out to hook Amelia's delicate chin with his finger as he spoke.
Amelia dodged, speaking sternly, "William Fallon, you're a prominent figure in Stridora. Please don't be so frivolous."
William sneered, circling Amelia. "I get it, you're pretending."
"Pretending to be pure, pretending to be reserved."
"Great, I love women who can put on an act."
Amelia bit her lip. "William, I'm here representing the Larson family to negotiate with you. Show some respect."
"What do you want to negotiate about?" William asked mockingly.
"The West Mountain Resort is our family's most valued asset. Initially worth ten million, it's now discovered to have hot springs, increasing its value. Your offer of a million is unacceptable!"
Amelia negotiated earnestly.
"You want to negotiate the price with me? Fine, as long as you willingly lie in my bed, I'll give you whatever price you want."
"You..." Amelia gritted her teeth, shocked by William's lewdness.
"What? Unwilling? If so, then there's nothing to talk about."
William smirked, provocatively blowing into Amelia's ear. Seeing her retreat in fright, his laughter grew more unrestrained.
"Amelia, the Fallon family doesn't care about your family's resort. I only convinced my father to agree to suppress you because of my embellished tales."
"My goal is to get you by crushing the Larson family!"
His face oozed sleaze, his leering eyes making one's skin crawl.
Amelia felt a chill deep in her heart, her scalp tingling.
Suddenly, Greg stood up. "Mr. Fallon, it would be best to sit down and talk. We came with sincerity."
"Who do you think you are? How dare you speak to me?"
William glanced at Greg coldly.
Greg bent slightly, smiling. "My name is Greg Warner. Friends on the street call me Iron Fist."
"I have many friends in the underworld, Mr. Fallon. Please show some respect."
"Iron Fist Warner, huh? You want me to show you respect?"
"Alright!" William's lips curled into a smirk.
He motioned toward his bodyguards. "Break his mouth and hands!"
A few men in combat attire rushed forward, quickly overpowering Greg.
Greg didn't even have the chance to throw a punch, let alone take down a Fallon bodyguard.
Two men pinned Greg down while others took turns slapping him.
The sound of slaps rang out.
"Ouch!"
"Ahh!"
"Stop! Ahh! Aiden, help... help me!"
Greg cried out in pain, unable to bear it any longer, and called for Aiden's help.
Aiden remarked calmly, "Weren't you going to take them down with one punch? Why are you getting beaten now?"
"Since you're so formidable, why ask me for help?"
Greg wept bitterly, tears of pain streaming down his face.
Soon, his mouth was swollen, most of his teeth knocked out, and blood gushed from his cracked lips.
With a change in William's hand gesture, the bodyguards were about to break Greg's hands.
Amelia quickly shouted, "Stop!"
William waved his hand, and the men backed off, leaving Greg collapsed on the ground.
"Ms. Larson, not only are you beautiful, but you're also kind-hearted, and you feel compassion for your subordinates."
"If that's the case, surely you'll grant my wish, right?"
William's words made Amelia flush with shame and anger.
He laughed heartily, reaching his arm toward Amelia's shoulder.
Smack!
Just as William's filthy hand was about to touch Amelia, his wrist was firmly gripped by a large hand.
