Chapter 42: Negotiation

"You don't think anything will happen to Alice, do you?" Ariel asked anxiously. Adam looked at the panicked Ariel, patted her on the shoulder, and reassured her, "From what I can tell, Alice's just been kidnapped. Her life shouldn't be in danger. The kidnappers will contact us soon to make their demands." Feeling the reassuring weight on her shoulder, Ariel's panic slightly subsided, and she unconsciously pressed harder on the gas pedal.
