"My name is Emery Lyson, I'm the manager here at Holy Pharmaceutical, Junbert," the young man said slowly.
He was also the youngest manager Holy Pharmaceutical has ever had in Junbert.
Every branch manager at Holy Pharmaceutical comes from an impressive background and is top-notch in ability.
Emery Lyson was no exception, especially since his father was the deputy head of Holy Pharmaceutical.
"Since I became manager, I made it clear that anyone who causes trouble or starts a fight at Holy Pharmaceutical gets no mercy. It looks like some of you didn't take my words seriously!" Emery's eyes turned icy behind his gold-rimmed glasses, and his presence intimidated the whole room.
"Mr. Lyson!" Peter scrambled to his feet, bowing deeply, his face full of relief and excitement.
The rest of the hall followed his lead, bowing as well.
Emery was one of the top dogs in Junbert's high society.
Most people would never even get a chance to see him in person. But today, he appeared.
"It's Mr. Lyson!" Myra's eyes were filled with surprise and excitement.
She'd heard Peter repeatedly brag about how close he was to Emery.
"And you are?" Emery asked, slightly frowning.
"Don't you remember me? Just last month, I got to have dinner and sing karaoke with you at the Oceanic Club. I still have your business card!" Peter eagerly reminded him.
"Oh, now I remember. You're the guy who owns Oburn Construction Group," Emery said, recognition flashing in his eyes.
He remembered Peter as a smooth operator, always knowing how to please people.
Last time at the Oceanic Club, Peter arranged for two college girls from the nearby university, one a dancer and the other an English major.
That night, Emery spent hours having fun with the college girls.
The next morning, his legs were shaking so badly he could barely stand.
"Yes, yes! That's me!" Peter said, grinning from ear to ear.
"Alright, so tell me. What exactly happened here?" Emery nodded for Peter to go on.
"Mr. Lyson, it was all because of them. These two paupers dared to purchase rare herbs, and when I stopped them, they attacked me." Peter grinned, thinking that giving those two girls to Emery last time was the smartest move he'd ever made.
Otherwise, Emery wouldn't even look his way. He wasted no time pinning everything on Allan.
"Let me see their herb purchase list." Emery turned to Connor Lane at the medicine counter.
Connor quickly handed over the list. "This is a crazy list of expensive herbs!"
Emery glanced at the list, then gave Allan a cold, mocking laugh.
"Looks like someone's trying to rip off Holy Pharmaceutical!"
Looking over Allan and Daniella, Emery figured their outfits weren't worth two hundred bucks. There was no way they could afford all this.
He was well-acquainted with Junbert's elite, and Allan was a stranger to him.
"What happens if you make trouble and fake being rich at Holy Pharmaceutical? If you get down on your knees and apologize right now, I might go easy on you. If I'm in a good mood," Emery said coldly, leaving no room for argument.
"Why should I apologize?" Allan asked, his gaze indifferent.
"Because this is Holy Pharmaceutical! Here, you don't get a say. You apologize if I say so!" Emery shot back, full of arrogance, not even bothering to ask what happened.
"I see you're with Daniella Shaw, and the herbs are for treating disfigurement and injuries. Are you one of the leftovers from the Shaw family? That family's nothing like it used to be. I doubt you're anybody important."
"Take my advice. Don't go looking for trouble!"
Emery would have had to bow to Daniella if this were five years ago.
But times had changed. The Shaw family had fallen, and Flynn was dead.
In the past five years, the Shaw family had suffered wave after wave of attacks, no longer the force they once were. Now, anyone could trample on them.
However, what shocked everyone was that Allan remained silent.
More accurately, he ignored Emery. His heart was already filled with rage.
Flynn fought with him and did incredible things. People dared to insult him.
"If you were trying to act tough, I wouldn't care. But you went too far when you disrespected Flynn's honor," Allan shot Emery a glare, cold killing intent in his eyes.
At the same time, Emery's gaze locked onto Allan, his brow furrowing.
To him, Allan was nothing more than an ant, easily crushed.
He had intended to be lenient after a simple apology, but Allan's defiance was unacceptable.
"Brilliant! A fool destined to die!" Peter hummed excitedly.
He hadn't expected Allan to be so foolish as to trample on Emery's dignity.
"Haha, looks like my bodyguards won't be needed after all. Emery will surely take him down! I'll have my way with that little punk and that filthy girl!" Peter's eyes gleamed with excitement, his body trembling.
Myra was buzzing with excitement.
After getting her teeth knocked out earlier, she was dead set on getting payback.
The rest of the crowd was stunned.
Everyone thought Allan had lost his mind.
"Haha, you are bold! I've never met someone as stubborn as you in my twenty years!" Emery looked at Allan with amusement, a cold smile forming.
"I only wanted you to kneel, but now it seems you want to lose your head!"
For Emery, crushing a few ants bore no legal consequence. The world was harsh, especially one with martial artists.
"You talk way too much. Listening to you is like hearing a horny toad croak all night in a pond. Say one more word, and I'll ensure you can't say another." Allan turned to Emery.
Allan's words echoed in the room, making everyone rub their ears, thinking they'd misheard him.
Did he call one of Junbert's top figures a toad? This guy was nuts!
"Alright, alright, alright!" Emery's face went cold as he snapped his fingers, signaling the Holy Pharmaceutical security guards to move in.
Suddenly, Allan moved.
Whoosh!
Allan was suddenly right before Emery, moving so fast nobody could see him.
Emery's eyes widened.
"I..." Emery's words were cut short as he felt a sudden chill, his ears buzzing like a drumbeat.
Boom!
Emery felt a massive force hit his chest, like it was being ripped apart.
He flew, smashed through several glass display cases, then hit the wall and crumpled to the floor.
"Ugh!" Emery could barely breathe.
Allan's punch had only used a fraction of his strength, but Emery felt like he was about to die, groaning in pain.
Everyone was silent, staring at Allan with wide eyes, not daring to speak.
"Remember, some words cannot be spoken. Some people cannot be insulted. You make your money off regular people, but you dare insult heroes who gave everything for their country. People like you don't even deserve to be called human!" Allan's voice was icy, each word a dagger piercing Emery's heart and ringing in everyone's ears.
Some people looked embarrassed, but most didn't care.
"Someone, come and subdue this thug!" Emery spat blood, shouting.
Right away, Holy Pharmaceutical's security team sprang into action.
Dozens of guards, all geared up with riot shields and steel batons, quickly surrounded Allan.
