"Daniella, since you believe I didn't kill Flynn, how could I leave?" Allan said.
At the mention of Flynn, Daniella stiffened.
She suddenly broke down, fists clenched, pounding on Allan's shoulders.
"Allan, I know you didn't kill my brother. You two were so close. He always said you had each other's backs! I'd never doubt you!"
"Besides, there were too many suspicious things about what happened five years ago! After Flynn died, you got thrown in jail. That's when I knew something was fishy!"
Daniella shook her head.
She wasn't stupid. She knew Flynn and Allan were like brothers, and there was no reason for them to be at odds.
Why would Allan ever hurt his friend?
The whole incident was weird.
"I can't believe you figured it out." Allan shot Daniella a surprised look.
He thought Daniella would seek vengeance, consumed by deep-seated hatred. Yet, she chose to believe him.
Allan felt touched, but also curious. "Why do you still want me to leave?"
"My brother is dead, and I don't want you to die too. Otherwise, I'd be all alone in this world." Daniella's voice was choked with sadness.
"You hit Chris Everett, and the Everetts will come after you. Once people find out you're alive, whoever set you up five years ago will be back for you! You have to get out of here, go as far as possible. Act like you never existed!"
"Daniella..." Allan's body trembled as he hugged her tightly.
"Don't worry. This time, I'm back for good. No matter who stands in our way, I'll take them down. No one's ever going to hurt us again! I'll find out what happened five years ago and ensure the real killer pays! Do you trust me?"
Allan pulled Daniella into a tight hug, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get away.
"Allan, I believe you. But I want you to stay alive." Daniella sobbed, struggling in his arms.
"I'm not going anywhere this time! How could I face Flynn if I did? As long as I'm here, I'll be your strongest shield. Anyone who wants to hurt you must get through me first!"
Allan had seen how much Daniella had suffered these past five years. There was no way he could leave her now.
With Flynn gone, Daniella was like a sister to him. It was his responsibility to protect her.
"If you trust me, don't make me leave. I'll stand before you this time and take down anyone who tries to hurt us! What happened five years ago will never occur again!" Allan said firmly.
"I believe you!" Daniella nodded.
Even if she sometimes doubted herself, she never once doubted Allan.
"That's good!" Allan nodded.
He looked at Daniella's scarred face, his heart aching. "Did the Everett family do this to you?"
"Yeah. To suck up to Abby Hayward, they did everything to humiliate me. They were the ones who poured acid on my face."
"Allan, am I ugly?" Daniella's voice was barely above a whisper as she remembered those painful days.
"Don't be ridiculous. You'll always be the prettiest girl in my eyes," Allan said, shaking his head.
"Even if it was worse than this, I could still fix you up."
He had inherited the Medicine King Codex from Fabian, one of the experts in Prison Zero.
Fixing Daniella's scars would be a piece of cake.
"Okay!" Daniella gave a sweet, hopeful smile.
Her face was ruined, so she hadn't dared to hope for anything.
But seeing Allan care for her made her feel warm for the first time in ages.
"Let's go. First, we have some people to kill. After that, I'll get you the medicine you need," Allan said.
"Kill?" Daniella was taken aback.
"That's right. Kill." Allan nodded.
"Today's the Everett family's big wedding. We can't miss out on the fun. I've got a special gift in mind for them."
"What kind of gift?" Daniella asked, puzzled.
"A gift that'll wipe out their whole family!" Allan said, grabbing Daniella's hand and heading toward the Everett residence.
Daniella was confused, but since Allan had decided, she'd follow him no matter what.
If she died with him, that would be enough for her.
...
Boom!
Deafening firecrackers thundered above the Heaven Hotel. Ribbons flew, firecrackers popped, and lights hung everywhere.
Outside the hotel, Rolls-Royces, Porsches, Ferraris, Mercedes, and BMWs were parked everywhere, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Today was the big wedding between Griffin Everett and Abby Hayward.
Everyone who was a big shot in Junbert showed up to celebrate. The whole place was buzzing.
A long street in front of the hotel was completely blocked off, with traffic police maintaining order.
"The Everett family hits the jackpot, marrying into the Haywards. From now on, they can do whatever they want in Junbert."
"Yeah! After Flynn died, the Shaw family went downhill fast. The Everett family abandoned Daniella and went after a better connection. So shameless!"
"People do crazy things for money. Haven't you seen this kind of stuff before?"
Many wealthy guests chatted enviously about the Everett and Hayward alliance.
The Hayward family was prominent in Solvenzia.
Soon, the guests gathered, and the auspicious hour arrived.
The Everetts wore joyful expressions, especially Marcus Everett, the family head, who was excited.
He looked at Griffin and Abby, grinning as he stroked his short beard.
"Once those two are married, I can expand our family business. Soon, the Everett family will run this whole city!"
Marcus was ecstatic.
"Congratulations, Mr. Marcus! Congratulations!" The rich guests piled on the compliments, making Marcus laugh even harder.
"It's time! Would the bride and groom please step onto the stage?" the emcee asked, and the crowd went wild.
Just then, Abby Hayward, dressed in a white wedding gown, suddenly frowned, looking seriously annoyed.
"Didn't I say I wanted that bitch Daniella here at my wedding? I want her to kneel and watch the whole thing! Where is she?"
"Chris went to get her. She'll be here any minute. Let's just get started!" Griffin said hurriedly.
"No way! I want that bitch to watch every second of this with her eyes wide open. If you don't like it, we're not getting married!" Abby snapped.
"Alright, alright, I'll call Chris right now. He's getting old. How long does it take to grab one person?" Griffin muttered, not daring to argue, and reached for his phone.
Suddenly, a thunderous boom shook the hall.
A coffin came crashing through the golden sandalwood doors and slammed down in the middle of the wedding stage.
When people realized what it was, their faces went pale.
It was a coffin dripping with fresh blood.
