Nala shook her head. "A real man always gets revenge for his grudges. You're my hero!"
Carlos gave a faint smile.
He didn't want to be a hero. Morals and the law held back Heroes.
He just wanted to be an avenger, sending everyone who killed his family straight to hell.
It didn't matter who the enemy was. He'd kill them all without mercy.
Bang!
Suddenly, the hall doors were kicked open, and nearly a hundred people rushed in.
They were armed, wearing blue uniforms. It was the Jaunce Police Station.
At the front was a middle-aged man with a commanding presence, frowning.
It was Harlan, the chief of the Jaunce police station.
"Shit!" Harlan was shocked by the gruesome scene.
Blood and corpses everywhere.
He'd gotten a report that someone was killing people at the Mason family wedding. This was a huge deal, so as chief, he had to show up himself.
His eyes widened as he stared at Carlos.
"You're that useless loser from the Carroll family, Carlos!" he exclaimed in shock.
He waved his hand.
Instantly, almost a hundred cops pointed their guns at Carlos, red laser dots covering him.
"Harlan!" Carlos's eyes flashed with killing intent.
Three years ago, hundreds of killers broke into the Carroll residence and slaughtered everyone.
Then there was a huge explosion, but Harlan and the police didn't even file a case. He even covered it up.
Over the next three years, Harlan forced the Carroll family's butler to hand over shares to three malls.
He broke all the butler's ribs, gouged out his eyes, and even cut off his manhood.
The butler, who had raised Carlos and spent his whole life serving the family, committed suicide.
Now, seeing Harlan again, Carlos's eyes went bloodshot.
"Kill him! And the woman, too!" Harlan barked, pointing at Nala.
Bang, bang, bang!
Bullets whistled through the air toward Carlos.
"Carlos!" Nala shouted, rushing forward to protect him.
Carlos waved his hand, unleashing a burst of inner power. Every bullet froze in midair.
"Are you a Grand Martial Master?" Harlan was stunned.
Only a Grand Martial Master at their peak could stop bullets.
The cops were just as dumbfounded.
"Kneel!" Carlos shouted.
A crushing force slammed down, forcing nearly a hundred cops to their knees so hard their kneecaps shattered and their guns dropped to the floor.
Carlos waved, and Harlan flew over, his throat caught in Carlos's grip.
"Carlos! I'm the chief of the Jaunce Police Station! Attacking me is a death sentence!" Harlan shouted in terror.
"I'm giving you the death sentence right now. Go kneel and beg my butler for forgiveness in hell!" Carlos declared.
Crack!
Carlos dug his fingers into Harlan's body, snapping every rib.
Harlan screamed in agony.
Then Carlos took a knife, gouged out Harlan's eyes, and sliced off his manhood, making him undergo everything the butler went through.
Harlan's screams echoed, chilling the cops to the bone.
Carlos pressed the knife to Harlan's heart.
"Don't kill me! I've got a secret!" Harlan pleaded.
Carlos didn't stop. The knife slowly sank into Harlan's chest.
"Your sister is alive! She's alive!" Harlan shouted desperately.
"What?" Carlos froze, his pupils contracting.
He gripped Harlan's throat, demanding, "Where is Mavis?"
Carlos's sister, Mavis Carroll, disappeared after the explosion.
He always thought she had died. But now, hearing she's alive, he could hardly breathe.
"She's with Jaden Winston! He's been torturing her for three years! To stop him from raping her, she poured acid all over herself!' Harlan blurted out.
"Damn it!"
Carlos, furious, punched Harlan's head, blowing it apart.
His eyes burning with rage, Carlos glared at the kneeling cops.
"You all deserve to die!" Carlos roared, going berserk and smashing them into bloody mist on the spot.
Carlos's face twisted with rage.
"Go find somewhere safe to hide and wait for me," Carlos told Nala, turning to leave.
"You're going to take on Jaden Winston?" Nala asked, worried.
"Yeah!" Carlos clenched his fists so hard they cracked.
Nala swallowed hard.
Jaden was a high-ranking official in Solvenica, with a thousand soldiers under his command and a top martial arts master.
Carlos going alone was suicide. Nala just clenched her fists and silently wished Carlos would come back safe.
At the door, Carlos turned back. "Don't worry, I'll be back. I still need you to help me rebuild the Carroll Group."
With that, he disappeared.
Watching Carlos disappear, Nala felt a sense of loss. All she wanted was to be with him forever.
Jaunce Military Department, Jaden Winston's office.
He'd just finished having sex with his lover, Harley.
Harley lit a cigarette and glanced at her watch.
Jaden could only last one minute in bed.
Jaden looked big and tough, but he was weak in bed.
Harley regretted ever hooking up with him, fooled by his looks.
She glanced over at a cage in the corner of the office.
Inside, a girl was curled up, her body covered in scars, her face so messed up she couldn't even tell what she used to look like.
Harley asked, "Babe, why do you keep that freak in your office?"
Jaden zipped up his pants and said, "Because I have to keep torturing her until she tells me what I want!"
