Trevor was no pushover. But right now, Levi had him by the throat, lifted him off the ground, and Trevor couldn't put up even the slightest resistance.
The Viper Gang members who were there stopped smiling the moment they saw Trevor's life in Levi's hands.
Levi's intimidating presence kept everyone frozen in place, too scared to make a move.
"Wait!" Enzo, who hadn't said a word until now, finally spoke up. He could feel the killing intent coming from Levi and worried that if he waited even a second longer, Trevor would be dead.
"What, you wanna die for him?" Levi turned his head and shot Enzo a cold look.
Enzo had been running the streets since he was a kid and had seen all kinds of people. He could tell Levi wasn't just talking big.
"No, I didn't expect you to be this good. How about this: join my Viper Gang, and I'll make sure you have all the money and women you want," Enzo offered, thinking it was an offer no one could refuse.
Levi let out a mocking laugh. "You? A street punk like you thinks you can bargain with me?"
"What did you just say?!" Enzo's fists clenched tightly. He was the boss of the Viper Gang now, a big shot in Floriaville, not the petty thug he used to be. He hated it when people called him that.
Giving Trevor control of the Viper Gang was his way of trying to go legit and leave his old life behind.
Levi's words cut deep. It was like he was saying Enzo would always be a lowlife, no matter what.
"Boss, don't bother making deals with him! I don't believe he really has the guts to kill me. Hey, you punk, if you mess around, you and your whole family are dead!" Trevor spat out, struggling to breathe.
"Oh yeah?" Levi's eyes narrowed.
Crack.
Levi snapped Trevor's neck without hesitation.
"Trevor!"
"Shit, he killed Trevor! Get him!"
"We gotta make him pay!"
The club was full of the Viper Gang's toughest guys. Trevor's death set them off, and they all charged at Levi with weapons in hand.
In under a minute, every Viper Gang member was on the ground, groaning in pain.
Enzo was freaked out by Levi's strength. He backed up until he hit a pillar and couldn't go any farther.
"You guys love threatening my family, huh? Maybe I should just wipe you all out right now and save myself the trouble later," Levi said.
"You… you can't kill me! Thaddeus will come after you if you do!" Enzo stammered, scared out of his mind.
"Who's Thaddeus? Actually, I don't even care. Go ahead, call him. In ten minutes, you'll all be dead," Levi said, cold as ice.
Levi figured he might as well deal with all of them once and for all, so his family wouldn't be threatened anymore.
They brought this on themselves.
Enzo didn't waste the chance-he grabbed his phone and called Thaddeus, quickly filling him in on what was happening.
"Don't let him get away. I'll be there in ten," Thaddeus said, then hung up.
That call gave Enzo his confidence back.
"Thaddeus'll be here in ten. If you're so tough, don't even think about running! Nobody in Jorkville can beat him!" Enzo sneered at Levi.
"Haha, if he's so powerful, why stay in Floriaville?" Levi scoffed.
Floriaville was just a small town in Jorkville, known for its scenic beauty but lacking any distinguishing features. Compared to other cities' economies, it lagged far behind. Those with real strength and ambition wouldn't be content to stay here.
"What do you know? Twenty years ago, Thaddeus was a renowned figure in Jorkville! He was framed and imprisoned, and after being released last year, he lost his former ambition and settled here for retirement."
"Have you heard of Ninos Prison? Only big shots deserve to be sent there."
"When Thaddeus arrives, you'll be begging for mercy!"
Enzo was full of confidence in Thaddeus, convinced that once he arrived, he would undoubtedly avenge his buddies.
Little did he know, Levi, after pondering Enzo's words, already knew who it was.
"Well, this is interesting. I didn't expect to meet an old acquaintance." Levi's lips curled into a slight smile.
Enzo had no idea what Levi was thinking. Seeing him still smiling at this moment, Enzo assumed Levi was clueless about the impending danger.
As the ten-minute mark approached, a Rolls-Royce slowly pulled up in front of the club.
An elderly man in traditional attire stepped out, accompanied by several aides, exuding an air of importance as they entered the club.
"Thaddeus, you're finally here," Enzo exclaimed excitedly, as if clutching at the last straw.
Thaddeus surveyed the scene, observing the chaos and the Viper Gang's toughest guys lying motionless, unsure if they were dead or alive, causing him to frown slightly.
"What kind of trouble have you stirred up?" Thaddeus asked in a slightly reproachful tone.
"It's just a nobody, but he's unexpectedly skilled. However, now that you're here, his end is near!" Enzo said, pointing in Levi's direction.
Thaddeus looked over, seeing a man with his back to them, seemingly indifferent to their presence.
"You punk, who do you think you are, acting like this in front of Thaddeus?"
"It's truly amusing that even in a small place like Floriaville, someone dares to put on airs in front of Thaddeus. I guess you don't know the meaning of death!"
"Just because you defeated these useless Viper Gang members, doesn't mean you're anything special. In front of Thaddeus, you're just an ant."
Thaddeus's aides couldn't help but curse at Levi's audacity.
Enzo's face darkened at their words, but he conceded that in front of a martial arts master like Thaddeus, his subordinates were indeed insignificant.
"Thaddeus Wilson, it seems life has treated you well since getting out of prison. Not having to endure beatings must be quite a relief, isn't it?"
At these words, Enzo and Thaddeus's aides were left bewildered.
It wasn't surprising that Levi knew Thaddeus's name, given his notoriety, but how could he know about Thaddeus's experiences in prison?
Impossible!
For a strongman like Thaddeus to be bullied in prison was unthinkable!
"Do you think this will scare Thaddeus? Ridiculous! It'll only hasten your demise!" Enzo said coldly.
Unexpectedly, just as he finished speaking, Thaddeus suddenly asked in a trembling voice, "L-Lordling? Is it really you?"
As Levi slowly turned around, Thaddeus, recognizing his face, was so terrified that his legs gave way, and he dropped to his knees with a thud.
