"That sounds kinda scary when you put it like that!"
At that, Lana shot a look toward the bedroom and said, "I was joking. I'm not about to go pick up some random guy. Also, I don't want to go to a bar. Those places are too rowdy. Let's find somewhere private to drink and talk, and maybe spend the night there."
"Come to my place then," Blaire said.
"If your husband's around, it's hard to really talk."
"He's on a business trip. He won't be back till next week."
"In that case, I'll head over to yours."
"I'll roll out the red carpet."
After she got off the phone, Lana went to the bathroom to rinse off and clean up, then went back to the bedroom.
As she started getting dressed, she said, "Blaire's husband is away. She wants me to keep her company. You're on your own tonight."
"That's sudden."
"She just called. We were chatting, and she asked me to come keep her company."
"I'll drive you."
"No need. I'll grab a cab. Make sure you get to bed early."
Dressed and smiling at her husband, Lana picked up her bag and left the house.
When she arrived at Blaire Saxon's, she found Blaire in a black strappy nightgown, the same style they had bought together last time, just in a different color. On the coffee table sat beer, duck feet, peanuts, chips, and other snacks.
Taking in Blaire's trim figure, Lana teased with a smile, "Your husband can really stand leaving his gorgeous wife to sleep alone?"
"He certainly can. Things between us are pretty so-so."
"I hate hearing you say that."
"I told you ages ago," Blaire said from the sofa, her tone cool. "Right after we got married, he treated me very well. Then we were together long enough to get bored. At this point, we're more like roommates-so familiar it's boring. So when you told me about Taylor Rathbone earlier today, I was genuinely worried. I like him, so I really don't want to see you two end up divorcing. Don't just stand there-sit. Having a total knockout looming over me is stressful."
As Lana sat, Blaire cracked open a can of beer.
She handed one to Lana, opened one for herself, and they clinked cans.
After a few sips, Blaire asked, "Was he still pushing you to go through with that?"
"No," Lana said. "He left the WhatsApp group he had joined and blocked the people he'd been messaging, but in his heart, he's still thinking about it. When we were doing it tonight, I asked if he would get angry if I was with another man, and then he suddenly became… became…"
"Got really into it?"
"He was rock hard and suddenly started going at it."
"If that turned him on, he's clearly still into the idea."
"That's why I felt so torn and asked you to drink with me."
"Lucky you came to me. If you'd called some other guy, you'd probably have ended up doing something you'd regret."
"I'm really frustrated," Lana said, taking another swallow of beer. "We're married-how can he even think about his wife being with other men? Thank goodness I have self-control. If I didn't, I might really go find someone else. If he's going to push me toward other men, I might as well do it on my own terms, right?"
"You really think that?"
"I did before. Not anymore."
"There's something a little wild you could try-it might help."
"Like standing in the street and shouting my head off?"
"I'll tell you later."
"Keeping me in suspense?"
"Yes, I am. What can you do about it?"
Lana looked at Blaire's mischievous grin and gave a helpless little shrug.
They ate and drank for over an hour, and both got pretty tipsy. Blaire held her liquor far better than Lana, so even when Lana was drunk enough that her eyes could barely stay open, Blaire was still relatively clear-headed.
Knowing Lana couldn't take another sip, Blaire helped her into the bedroom.
Once Lana was sprawled across the bed, Blaire slipped off her slippers.
Looking at Lana's pale, soft thighs, Blaire's brows drew together.
After a moment's hesitation, her right hand came to rest on Lana's thigh and drifted slowly toward the space between her legs.
Through the thin fabric, her fingers found soft warmth. Lana let out a tiny, breathy "Mmm."
Blaire didn't pull back. She began to move her middle finger in a gentle rhythm.
As Lana's breathing grew quicker, Blaire's own drew short.
Just then, Lana managed to pry her eyes open.
"Blaire… you… you…"
"Try something a little wild with me," Blaire murmured.
"We can't…"
"We're both women-it doesn't really count as cheating," Blaire said. "Things with my husband have always been mediocre, especially in that department. I don't even remember the last time we did it. Sometimes I think about cheating, but I don't dare. It feels wrong for me. Then I thought, if I don't look for a man, only for a woman, maybe it's not really a problem. But I'm not really into women, so I don't want a girlfriend. I just want a straight woman I can get a little intimate with once in a while to let off some steam. You argued with your husband and even thought about being with another man. Better to be close with me once. That way you get some relief and try a kind of closeness you've never known."
"Too… too strange…"
"Weren't you the one who said you wanted to go wild after a few drinks?"
As she spoke, Blaire's middle finger slipped under Lana's panties.
Lana let out a faint whimper, and Blaire's finger slid into her.
At that point, Lana couldn't really resist. She was drunk, limp as a noodle, and she could only let Blaire have her way.
Seeing no more resistance, Blaire lifted Lana's skirt.
With a sultry smile, she slowly drew down her panties.
Gazing at the view, Blaire lowered her head.
"Blaire… no… don't… don't do that!"
