I hesitated for a few seconds, then spotted some pebbles beneath the window. I scooped up a few and pitched them toward the window on the far side. It was a classic distraction-make some noise over there so they look that way. It would give me away, but not my exact spot, and if luck tilted my way, I might even take out one or two hoodlums.
