A jolt of excitement surged through Santino. He scrambled up, pulled on his clothes, and, heart thrumming, followed the sound, sneaking along. He slipped into the yard. The light in Clementine's room was still on. Curiosity prickled. He tiptoed to her window and, holding his breath, peered in. Clementine stood inside, clothing loose, cheeks flushed. Her breath came soft and unsteady, little murmurs spilling from her lips. He froze. The sounds he had heard were hers.  Heat rushed to his face....
