Chapter 19: The Zipper Was Open

Alex Hayde didn't stay excited for long. He didn't open it. He hesitated, then thought back to yesterday's dark brown briefcase. Damn it. Same color, but the design on the outside was different. Yesterday there was a nude-woman charm hanging from the handle; today it was a woman in a tweed coat. He let out a long breath and studied the zipper. A moment later, he spotted something as thin as a hair attached to it. Could it be an alarm? Cold sweat ran down his back. He let go of the zipper right away...
