After we finished, Marlee lay slick with sweat, the lamplight making her gleam as if oiled, a languid glow rippling over her skin. She collapsed on top of me, panting, limp as a rag, with no time to clean up.
My hands were injured, so I couldn't wrap her in my arms. I asked, "How do you feel?"
"Exhausted," Marlee said between breaths.
