Chapter 28: A Feisty Girl

By dusk, around the entrances to Royphia Village and along its lanes, villagers were gathered, chatting away.  As the weather heated up, small wild animals started going after the fruit, so those of us who had orchards under lease made the rounds of our own trees.  With nothing better to do, I wandered along the edge of my grove. If these apricots ripened, they'd bring in money. I figured I could use the earnings to fix up the house. It'd be nice to live more comfortably in a bright, airy place...
