"What did you eat yesterday?" Leonard Zimmerman asked, fingers resting lightly on Erin Quatremane's wrist as he took her pulse. His tone was gentle and concerned.
Her pulse seemed steady, nothing out of the ordinary, but sweat dotted her forehead. Pain twisted her features; she looked like she was weathering a storm.
"Ice cream lately. And watermelon, some other cold drinks," Erin murmured, one hand clutching her belly. The cramps had come out of nowhere and felt vicious.
