An image flashed through Adam Wokey's mind: himself with Rodrigo Shirvinton and a stunning woman, the three of them playing off one another. His pulse quickened, and he thought to himself, "Who knows, maybe this will fix my problem getting it up. Then I can finally do my marital duties when I get home."
The moment he pictured his wife-like a tigress-Adam felt a twinge of dread.
…
The day slipped by.
After work, Rodrigo hurried to Shanton Fitness Club. By the time he got there, everyone was already there. He taught with his usual care and focus.
When class ended, he announced, "Tomorrow's the weekend. To keep our training on track, I'm taking everyone on an outing to the Cloude Mountain Scenic Area. We'll spend a night out there. Hope you can all join us."
People signed up. Brooke Casson put her name down as well.
"This trip will be my chance. It would be a crying shame to waste it," Rodrigo was thrilled.
Whether Brooke meant it or not, she shot him a meaningful look and a radiant smile. In front of so many members, Rodrigo felt oddly ill at ease.
Unaware of what was going on between them, the others joked with him. "Coach, you better help carry our stuff when the time comes!"
Rodrigo grinned. "No problem. I've got you covered."
…
Back home, worried her husband might suspect something, Brooke said, "Honey, I'm going to Cloude Mountain tomorrow for a class reunion. I'll be gone two days. You'll have to take care of yourself."
Adam felt uneasy letting his beautiful wife go. He was reluctant, but faced with her determined look, he swallowed his objections.
"Go on, I don't mind," Adam said. "Just be careful out there, and don't make me sit at home worrying."
Brooke pouted. "I'm not a three-year-old. What's there to worry about?"
Rodrigo had not won her over yet, but she was already leaning his way. She was itching for something to happen in that unfamiliar place on Cloude Mountain.
"In that case, I won't say more," Adam said, not suspecting a thing. "Turn in early tonight."
"Okay." She nodded.
…
At first light the next day, a charter bus from Shanton Fitness Club pulled out with over twenty people on board, heading toward the Cloude Mountain Scenic Area.
Once they left the city center, wide roads and tidy houses stretched out outside the windows. From time to time, street vendors were out selling their wares.
Brooke sat one row in front of Rodrigo. With that view right in front of him, he barely noticed the scenery outside.
The wind through the window kept tossing her long hair back across his face. She had showered the night before; the mix of shampoo and body wash, warmed by her skin, drifted over and went straight to his head.
His thoughts had already flown to her, and he pictured stealing a moment that night to confess his feelings.
When they reached the Cloude Mountain Scenic Area, they checked into the Cloude Mountain Resort. Rodrigo got Room 201, and Brooke got 202, across the hall.
After stowing their luggage, they went to lunch together. Then they drove out to soak in the hot springs.
This time, since Rodrigo hadn't been roped into carrying everyone's bags, it was easy enough for him to end up sitting with Brooke.
The springs were close, about a twenty-minute drive.
On the way, he didn't get a chance to talk, but he still let his fingers brush hers. She pinched him-a light warning-and shot him a fierce look.
At the hot springs, no one had brought swimsuits, so they bought them on the spot. After buying suits, they split up to change. The trunks Rodrigo picked were too small. He had already torn the packaging, so he couldn't exchange them. He had to make do. His trunks were stretched tight over him, bulging like they might burst, and it was wildly uncomfortable.
With Brooke in mind, he picked up a pair of goggles, thinking they'd come in handy.
By the time he slid into the water, Brooke had not yet finished changing, so he chose a spot with a clear view and waited for her.
Within minutes, she emerged. A green swimsuit hugged her tall, curvy figure, and the green set off her fair skin, making it glow.
Thinking of the body beneath that suit, Rodrigo felt his own body respond, beyond his control.
