Two minutes later, Casper Zimmerman picked a middle-of-the-pack horse-not the best. He didn't want anyone accusing him of taking unfair advantage of Lewis Casson.
Lewis shot him a cool look, seeing right through him.
"Stop staring. Let's race."
A glint flickered in Lewis's eyes. He swung up into the saddle and burst out of the stable.
"Hyah!"
Casper Zimmerman spurred after him.
They lined up side by side. At the outer rail, Faith Scurr called out, "I'll count down-go on one. Three, two, one!"
