Jason Sowden rode along the country lane by Beldon Reservoir. The mountain road above was well built, with streetlights every twenty feet or so-bright as day. Down by the reservoir, there were no streetlights at all.
Only the moonlight lit the water, sending silver ripples across it.
The headlamp on his little electric scooter burned bright enough. It lit up the reeds and set the insects buzzing.
What started as light flurries thickened into big, fluffy flakes.
