The Yale family's Ancestral Shrine.
With a loud clang, Kingsley shoved the main doors open. Drew Yale stood before the ancestral tablets, alone.
Kingsley's scalp went numb. His voice shook as he asked, "Grandfather… where's the Supreme Bone?"
"Oh?" Drew turned, then nodded at him. "Kingsley, so you already know."
"I know you're in a hurry, but don't panic yet." Drew's tone stayed unhurried, almost soothing. "I already checked everything for you. Santiago Yale. A collateral branch member of the main line. Orphaned since childhood. A few days ago, he awakened the Supreme Bone. I've sealed his consciousness and locked him in the rear hall."
Drew's eyes gleamed. "Kingsley, once you fuse the Supreme Bone into your body, and pair it with your Double Pupils, the Battle of Divine Sons a month from now won't even be a fight. No one in the Yale family will be able to touch you."
"Orphaned… and the bone gets dug out…" Kingsley murmured.
His gaze tightened, but the cord in his chest finally loosened.
The surname matched. The name matched. An orphan…
And it hadn't been dug out yet.
"I refuse!"
"Hm?" Drew's expression froze. He frowned at Kingsley. "Kingsley, do you even understand what a Supreme Bone means? It means you'll become the most monstrous prodigy in the Three Thousand Wayrealms. Invincible among your peers. A young supreme!"
"Double Pupils already walk an invincible path," Kingsley said, face solemn, pressure rolling off him. "Why would I borrow someone else's bone?"
The Supreme Bone was priceless, but the moment he pictured the ten-thousandfold return he'd get for refusing, something in Kingsley stirred.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have broken the villain setting. You refused the Supreme Bone and obtained a ten-thousandfold return reward: Innate Way‑Sovereign Bone.]
[Would you like to bind the Son of Destiny: Santiago Yale?]
"As expected…" A sly glint flickered in Kingsley's eyes. He sighed inwardly. *The system really is insane.*
Innate Way‑Sovereign Bone!!
He had once heard Drew say that "Supreme" was only the peak of the Great Dao within the Three Thousand Wayrealms.
Above Supreme, there were still the Emperor Realm, the Immortal Realm, and the Dao Realm.
The Yale family was called an eternal clan precisely because an Emperor had once emerged from their bloodline. They were a true imperial-blood clan.
And an Innate Way‑Sovereign Bone had already transcended the category of living beings. It was a true bone of the Great Dao.
"Bind him."
[Ding. Congratulations, Host. You have successfully bound your second Son of Destiny and obtained Fate Value 1%, 2/100.]
"Kingsley… you…" Drew started.
"Grandfather, you don't need to say anything." Kingsley lifted a hand, cutting him off. "I know what to do. Give me the Cosmic Vault Ring."
Before Drew could react, Kingsley snatched the Cosmic Vault Ring from his hand and strode toward the rear hall.
…
[Son of Destiny: Santiago Yale]
[Cheat: Supreme Bone]
[Hidden Cheat: Chaotic Divine Physique]
[Template: Bone-Digging Awakening Route]
[Identity: Collateral disciple of the Yale family main line, successor of the Innate True Spirit]
[Plot Trajectory: Son of Destiny gets his Supreme Bone dug out, awakens the Chaotic Divine Physique, escapes the Yale Family Territory, stumbles into a mysterious mountain village, receives True Spirit teachings, becomes invincible in his era.]
Inside the rear hall, Kingsley studied the black-clad youth lying on the bed, eyes narrowed in thought.
He had refused to dig out the bone and received an Innate Way‑Sovereign Bone from the system, but Santiago had been sealed and imprisoned here by Drew. He had likely already guessed what awaited him.
At a time like this, even if Kingsley let him go, Santiago would never trust him again.
Still, a Chaotic Divine Physique would make a decent enforcer in the future.
A villain, after all, couldn't be without lackeys.
And if those lackeys were all Destined One…?
Kingsley's lips curled.
"System," he asked softly, "as long as I'm the one giving out Fortune, does it matter when I give it? As long as the Destined One opens it every seven days, I'll still get the return reward?"
After a brief pause, Kingsley made up his mind.
Unlike Daniella Greaves, Santiago had no emotional foundation with him at all. Only hatred.
So if Kingsley wanted this Son of Destiny to submit, he couldn't just play the warm-hearted benefactor.
A bold plan had already taken shape in his mind. If it worked, he could milk Santiago endlessly, and one day make him follow with absolute loyalty.
[Ding. In theory, yes.]
"Good."
From Drew's Cosmic Vault Ring, Kingsley selected a divine art treasure technique called the Ape Demon Body Refinement Technique, a seventh-grade Foundation Establishment Pill, a top-grade Dao Artifact called the Nine Dragons Prison Heaven Cauldron, a spiritual ginseng great medicine, and a pile of Divine Talisman materials. He sealed them into different storage pouches and set conditions for when each could be opened, divided by realm.
By Kingsley's estimation, once Santiago awakened the Chaotic Divine Physique, his cultivation would skyrocket.
Even if Kingsley couldn't personally hand him Fortune, as long as Santiago periodically opened the Cosmic Vault Ring and used the treasures and materials inside, Kingsley would receive endless returns.
[Ding. Approved by the system. You're really damn vicious.]
Kingsley stepped up to the bed and leaned in, voice gentle enough to sound almost intimate. "Little brother, bear with it. I'm going in."
He reached out, and his palm plunged unerringly into Santiago's chest.
As a strand of spiritual patterns laced with a hint of demonic intent dripped down, the golden bone in Santiago's chest instantly turned black, completely concealed, its aura erased.
Celest‑Cycle Projection Art!!
This treasure technique was a Supreme Law rewarded by the system. It could perfectly conceal any aura.
That way, Santiago would believe Kingsley had dug out his Supreme Bone, and it wouldn't affect his plot trajectory.
Only by suffering, by growing quickly in hatred, and by bringing his divine physique to completion would Santiago become useful to Kingsley.
As for that strand of ever-changing demonic intent, it allowed Kingsley to sense Santiago's location at any time, so he wouldn't get ambushed and killed.
It would also become the opening Kingsley needed to tame him.
*My foolish little brother, hate me.*
"Gah… it hurts…"
Slowly, confusion surfaced on Santiago's face. It felt like he was being torn apart, like something had been forced into his body.
Thankfully, the tearing pain came from the front. Otherwise, Santiago might have wondered if the clan head had some… unusual tastes.
He opened his eyes and saw a young man before him with a gentle expression and bloodstained hands. His pupils shrank.
"My Supreme Bone…"
Santiago lowered his gaze to his shattered chest. His face drained of color.
Gone.
He couldn't sense even the faintest ripple from the Supreme Bone. In an instant, he understood.
"Kingsley Yale! You dug out my Supreme Bone? You animal-"
Smack.
Before Santiago could erupt, Kingsley slapped him across the face.
"Raging without power is the most useless thing you can do." Kingsley's voice stayed cold. "I've taken your Supreme Bone. That ring contains some pills and cultivation arts. Consider it compensation. You can leave."
He casually tossed the Cosmic Vault Ring onto the floor, his expression never changing. "Of course, you can refuse it. But if you do, you might lose more than just the Supreme Bone."
Kingsley chuckled, calm as a drifting cloud, and turned to walk out, ignoring the killing intent and venom in Santiago's eyes.
"Why didn't you kill me…?" Santiago rasped.
Without turning back, Kingsley answered, "Because I'm… kind."
He walked out of the hall and vanished.
Pfft.
Santiago clenched his fist and spat a mouthful of blood.
In Kingsley's eyes, the first-ranked heir of the Yale family, a collateral like him was no different from an ant.
That feeling of being ignored, of being toyed with at will, stoked a fire in Santiago's chest until it roared.
Then his expression abruptly stiffened. Horror and disbelief flooded his eyes.
He could feel it.
From the place where the Supreme Bone had been "dug out," an ancient, mysterious chaos aura was slowly awakening.
"This is…"
Santiago swallowed hard. After a brief hesitation, he bent down and grabbed the Cosmic Vault Ring from the floor. Gritting through the pain in his chest, he fled the Yale Family Territory like a madman.
Otherwise, if that grandfather and grandson discovered his secret again, they would stop at nothing to steal what was meant to be his.
"Kingsley Yale," Santiago swore through clenched teeth as he ran, "just you wait. One day, in front of the entire Holy Dominion, I'll rip open your chest, expose your ugly face, and take back everything that's mine."
