Celestial Arcane Realm, Pyrean Spire.
Kingsley Yale dropped from the heavens and landed before the imperial palace. He lifted a finger to the two Immortal Dynasty guards, signaling for silence.
Only after he invoked the Celest‑Cycle Projection Art and veiled his aura did he stride inside.
Spiritual mist billowed through the halls. Immortal radiance spilled across jade pillars. From deeper within came the steady, suggestive sound of flowing water, one soft splash after another, inviting the mind to wander.
"Splash… splash…"
"So much water…"
Kingsley froze, then understanding flickered in his eyes.
Judging by the spiritual resonance in the palace, Daniella Greaves was most likely… bathing? Tempering her marrow and forging her bones?
What a coincidence.
He walked farther in, rounded a screen, and his gaze tightened.
Behind it, a flawless, snow-white back reclined against the edge of a white-jade spirit pool. From time to time, she lifted an arm like carved jade and let a curtain of spiritual liquid rain down over her shoulders.
Her ink-black hair was coiled atop her head, making her slender neck look even longer. Her delicate skin, pale as first snow, had been dampened by the spirit brew and flushed faintly pink, glowing with a warm, pearly sheen.
Lazily, she raised her arm again. The liquid traced her elegant collarbones and dripped into the pool, rippling outward in layered waves.
Even Kingsley could not bring himself to interrupt. He stood in the hall, silent, taking in the once-in-an-age view.
A little higher. Yes, that's it. Sit up a little more…
He exhaled.
Daniella slowly straightened, stretching her waist. As her curves rose above the waterline, swaying with the motion, Kingsley's breath caught hard in his throat.
"Hm?"
Daniella's expression blanked. She whipped her head around toward the white-robed figure in the hall, her pupils tightening.
"Kingsley Yale!!"
Her startled cry rang out. She made to stand, then seemed to remember something. A blush like rosy clouds rushed across her cheeks as she sank back down. "When did you get here?!"
"I've been here a while," Kingsley replied.
He clicked his tongue in open admiration, looking her over without the slightest shame. "I saw you tempering your marrow, so I didn't disturb your cultivation."
"You… shameless…" Daniella ground her teeth, yet she did not dare move recklessly. She sank deeper, hiding herself beneath the water and leaving only her head exposed, which somehow made her look almost playfully cute.
As if he was sparing her cultivation.
"Oh, right." Kingsley seemed to recall something. He took out a suit of gold-thread soft armor from his Cosmic Vault Ring and set it by the edge of the pool. "This sacred artifact soft armor has terrifying defense. You've lost your cultivation. Put it on later."
"Huh?" Daniella stared at him, disbelief written all over her face.
Since when had he become so considerate?
Was this really the Kingsley Yale she remembered, the selfish devil who cared only about becoming an immortal?
[Ding. Congratulations, Host, for gifting the Fated Maiden a sacred artifact armor. Ten-thousandfold Return Reward activated: Supreme Star Robe (Supreme Artifact).]
"Cultivate in peace, Daniella. I'll come see you again after a while," Kingsley said.
Before Daniella could even recover from her shock, he had already turned and walked out.
"Oh, and since you like bathing so much, the Yale family has a wonderful place for it. When you have time to visit the Yale family, I'll take you there myself."
Kingsley believed that with enough persistence and relentless frequency, Daniella's Dao heart would waver sooner or later.
"Kingsley Yale!!"
Only after his aura vanished completely did Daniella snatch a plain white gauze robe from the nearby rack, wrap herself up, and step out of the spirit pool.
She lowered her eyes to the gold-thread armor in her hands, her confusion deepening.
A sacred artifact was already an unmatched Fortune.
Yet Kingsley had handed it to her like it was nothing, and he had not asked for anything excessive in return.
What did he want…?
Buzz.
At the same time, Kingsley left Pyrean Spire. Strands of starry spiritual patterns lit up around him, ancient and profound, weaving themselves into a pristine white robe.
With this Supreme Robe, Kingsley felt confident that even if a powerhouse of the Severing Way‑Sovereign Realm tried to kill him, it would not be easy.
"No. I can't get careless. I still need to work on other angles," he murmured.
After a brief pause, he glanced at the Swimming Dragon Body Technique in his hand and let a sinister smile curl at the corner of his mouth.
Buzz.
Just then, a petite figure darted out of the mountain forest ahead and threw herself straight into his arms.
In an instant, a shocking softness slammed into his chest, rising and falling as she trembled.
"Big brother, save me…"
Behind her, an enormous demon ape, tens of feet tall, lumbered forward with a grin, pouncing toward Kingsley.
"Hm?" Kingsley frowned slightly. Spiritual brilliance burst from his Double Pupils.
He extended a hand and snapped down several talisman seals, smashing them onto the ape's head.
In the blink of an eye, the Soul Sea Beast went utterly slack-faced. The grin vanished.
Seriously? I'm just a little Soul Sea demon, playing around with a girl. You had to drop seven Divine Talisman on me?
Its massive skull exploded under the seals. Blood and bone fragments sprayed across the ground.
"Wow, big brother, you're amazing." The Green-Clad Girl pressed her lips together, her teal eyes turning hazy. Even her breathing grew a little quick. "Big brother… do you want it?"
"Hm?" Kingsley lifted a brow and nodded slowly. "I do."
"Heehee, what do you want?" She bit her lip and lowered her gaze, seductive to the bone. "Tell me."
"I want rivers and mountains to stand forever, all living beings to be blessed, and every honored reader to live a hundred years in health and have everything go their way."
"Huh?" The Green-Clad Girl's expression stiffened.
She did not really understand what he was saying, but it sounded nothing like what she had imagined.
"Then… big brother, do you want a well-behaved, obedient pure-blood mount? Very pure…"
"I don't." Kingsley shook his head, solemn as a judge.
"I'm a beautiful mount and you still won't take me? Then what do you want to take?" she snapped, cheeks puffing with indignation.
"I want to take back the Daozhou territories seized by the dark races. The human race's homeland."
His tone remained calm and dignified, yet he still did not push her away.
In the end, he reached out and patted her little head, speaking earnestly. "You're small, but your thoughts are filthy."
"You!!"
The Green-Clad Girl finally could not hold back. She broke free from his arms and fled, vanishing at the end of the ancient forest like she was escaping a ghost.
"Testing me?" Kingsley snorted and continued toward the Yale Family Territory.
What a joke. He, Kingsley Yale, was devoted by nature. He could withstand any trial.
He swore he would always be loyal to eighteen-year-old girls with snow-white skin and burning-hot bodies!
A soft laugh escaped.
Inside Pyrean Spire.
Daniella listened to the Green-Clad Girl's complaints, and a gentle, warm smile bloomed across her flawless face.
"Hm? Daniella, you're still smiling?!" The Green-Clad Girl clenched her teeth, clearly never expecting Kingsley to be so upright it was infuriating.
"He's a Double Pupils bearer," Daniella said, shaking her head, her gaze distant. "Did you really think you could hide your cultivation, or your demon body, in front of him?"
No matter what, she could feel it. In this life, Kingsley was different from the last.
She could not tell whether that difference was an act, or the truth.
Buzz.
Time passed.
Two days later, thunderclouds gathered once more above the Yale Family Territory, and Dao patterns surged and rolled.
A grand decree of the Great Dao slowly manifested, letting down countless divine runes like a waterfall.
"This is…"
"A Heavenly Dao omen? The Yale family has another Heavenly Dao omen again?!"
The entire Holy Dominion erupted in astonished cries.
Immortal Sect masters and undying sect leaders all stared toward the Yale Family Territory. Their faces showed little shock anymore, as if they had grown used to it.
Buzz.
Inside Kingsley's sleeping hall, a white-jade spirit pellet at his dantian sea hummed as it spun, evolving mountains and rivers, chaos and primal mist.
Supreme Foundation Establishment Pill!
At last, after Kingsley successfully fused this peerless immortal pill, his realm stepped beyond the Ninth Layer of Soul Sea and broke into the Divine Wheel stage.
The dantian sea became a Divine Wheel, and heaven and earth split into turbid and clear.
What delighted Kingsley even more was that under the nourishment of the Supreme Foundation Establishment Pill, his Divine Wheel within the dantian sea took on a golden hue, wreathed in mist.
Threads of chaotic qi surged and roiled inside it, boundless and vast beyond measure.
"This is… a Chaos Divine Wheel!!"
