Khalid Ghazi adjusted his silk lapels, his eyes narrowing as he watched Tariq standing near the periphery of the exhibition hall. The sting of the earlier confrontation still hung in the air, but Khalid's disgust had long since calcified into a dull, constant ache. "What a useless man," Khalid mumbled, his voice thick with annoyance. He turned his back on his son-in-law, dismissing him as one might a piece of faulty furniture that didn't fit the room's aesthetic.
