Chapter 6: He Was Still Nothing but Trash!

Cloud Quinny had barely returned to the Profound Heaven Sect when the Grand Elder and the others hurried up to meet him.
"Little rascal, you're finally back!"
The Second Elder looked like he was a breath away from tears. After Cloud Quinny went out, the entire Profound Heaven Sect had been on edge. They had sent people all over Lorton to search for him.
Until he showed his face, the Second Elder and the rest had been sick with worry, terrified something might have happened to him.
"Quick, let us see. Are you hurt?"
"Little rascal, why did you go out without telling us?"
"If you had to leave, you should've said something. We could've sent people to follow you."
All the Elders crowded around him, checking him from every angle. Only after they were certain he was uninjured did they finally breathe again.
Seeing the anxiety written all over their faces, Cloud Quinny felt both touched and ashamed.
Too much had happened to the Profound Heaven Sect lately. After several Elders were badly wounded, the remaining Elders had been buried under even more duties, busier than ever.
Because they were so overwhelmed, Cloud Quinny had not wanted to bother them. He had gone to the Lyson family alone.
He had not expected it would make them worry this much.
Toward the Elders, Cloud Quinny felt gratitude and respect from the bottom of his heart.
From childhood to adulthood, they had treated him well. Even when his talent was mediocre and others mocked him as trash, the Elders still comforted him and told him not to pay those people any mind.
They had always treated him as the Young Master of the Profound Heaven Sect.
Every time the Profound Heaven Sect obtained fine spiritual medicine, they always gave him the best portion first. Only what remained was left for themselves and the disciple.
After confirming again and again that Cloud Quinny was truly fine, the Elders finally dispersed. The Second Elder stayed behind, since this month's duty rotation fell to him.
"Second Elder, you don't have to follow me," Cloud Quinny said, glancing back at the man trailing him. "I won't run off again."
"Young Master, your status is incomparably noble. Nothing can be allowed to happen to you," the Second Elder insisted.
"I've heard that so many times my ears have calluses," Cloud Quinny muttered, digging a finger into his ear. Ever since he was little, the Elders had always said he was noble, that he could not suffer even the slightest harm.
The Second Elder chuckled anyway and kept following.
Cloud Quinny could not be bothered to argue.
As they entered deeper into the sect, he noticed some Core Disciple practicing a combat technique. Only then did he remember he had never learned one himself.
The Profound Heaven Sect had rules.
A disciple had to reach the Circulation Realm before cultivating a combat technique. Below that, the meridians were too fragile to withstand the power of such techniques, and it was easy to damage them.
Cloud Quinny's cultivation base had originally been only the Energy Refining Realm, so he had not been able to cultivate one.
He had reached the Energy Condensation Realm, and with the Heaven-Swallowing Divine Vein supporting him, cultivating a combat technique should not be much of a problem.
"Second Elder," Cloud Quinny asked, spotting a few familiar faces among the Core Disciple, "why are Senior Gurnil and the others all back?"
Those Core Disciple rarely returned. They spent most of the year training outside, yet they were all in the sect today.
"They were called back a month ago," the Second Elder said. "You didn't see them because they were in secluded training. They were only released recently."
He continued, "They're preparing for the Lorton Ten Sects Assembly, held once every five years. It's the day after tomorrow."
Understanding dawned on Cloud Quinny. "So fast. In the blink of an eye, it's already time for the Lorton Ten Sects Assembly again."
The Ten Sects Assembly.
Ten sects within Lorton's three-thousand-mile region sent their disciple to compete, then divided up the Cultivation Resources of Lorton's three-thousand-mile region according to rank.
Mines, mountain forests rich in spiritual medicine, all of it became spoils to be split.
The higher the rank, the more resources a sect received.
In recent years, the Profound Heaven Sect had only managed around seventh place. With so little to claim, the sect's growth had been slow, and there were even signs of decline.
Watching the Core Disciple train with everything they had, Cloud Quinny quietly made his decision. He would also join the Ten Sects Assembly the day after tomorrow and do his part for the Profound Heaven Sect.
Before, he had not had the strength. This time, he had confidence.
When he fought Quincy Lyson and the others at the Lyson family, he had realized just how terrifyingly strong his physique was. He could crush the strong with the weak, relying on his body alone.
Back at Cloud Sky Pavilion, Cloud Quinny shut his door.
He took out the spiritual medicine he had obtained from the Lyson family and continued devouring it.
The Heaven-Swallowing Divine Vein truly was monstrous.
The medicinal power within each stalk of spiritual medicine was absorbed completely, as if he were swallowing ultimate elixir one after another. His cultivation base surged upward.
A short while later, he stopped.
He had reached the Ninth Level of the Energy Condensation Realm.
The next realm was the Circulation Realm. To break through, ordinary spiritual medicine would never be enough. He needed something far better.
Cloud Quinny took out that Grade Nine Spiritual Medicine and began Refining it on the spot.
Its medicinal power poured into him.
A sound like rushing tides echoed from within his body. True energy began to circle through his meridians, completing a Circulation Cycle. Only after it swept through a full great loop did it finally slow.
True energy multiplied wildly.
Like a flood, it roared with a deafening rumble.
True energy flowing like a torrent, cycling through the Circulation Cycle. That was the sign of the Circulation Realm.
After breaking into the Circulation Realm, nearly half the medicinal power still remained. Cloud Quinny's cultivation base continued to rise, surging from the first level into the second…
It did not stop until the Sixth Level of the Circulation Realm.
"The effect of a Grade Nine Spiritual Medicine is insane," Cloud Quinny murmured, feeling the powerful true energy rolling through him. "It's like swallowing dozens of ultimate Grade Nine Elixir in one breath."
A deep sigh escaped him. At last, he had strength. Real strength. At the very least, he was no weaker than his peers.
…
Beast Taming Sect.
Luna Lyson stood surrounded by Core Disciple, the center of every gaze, as if the stars themselves revolved around her.
Just moments ago, her aptitude had been tested again, and it revealed an even more terrifying potential: the Earth Spirit Bloodline.
If she continued cultivating, she would have a chance to awaken the Earth Spirit Bloodline.
The Sect Master of the Beast Taming Sect announced on the spot that Luna Lyson had been promoted to Reserve Sect Heir.
In other words, as long as she kept growing, she would inevitably become the Beast Taming Sect's true Sect Heir and a Sect Master Candidate.
Luna Lyson lifted her chin slightly, arrogance plain on her face.
Leaving the Profound Heaven Sect and joining the Beast Taming Sect was the best decision she had ever made.
If she had stayed in the Profound Heaven Sect, she would have been forced to spend her life beside Cloud Quinny, that piece of trash. Worse, she might have been dragged down by the Profound Heaven Sect's decline.
"Miss," a servant from the Lyson family said, rushing into the Beast Taming Sect. "The family head ordered me to deliver this letter to you."
After Luna Lyson finished reading the letter from Quincy Lyson, her expression darkened.
"Disciple," the Venerable Beastmaster asked gently, "what happened?"
"Master, I was deceived by Cloud Quinny." Luna Lyson's voice turned sharp with fury. "That liar hid his true cultivation base. He wasn't in the Energy Refining Realm at all. He was at the Fifth Level of the Energy Condensation Realm."
"He tricked me, and that would've been bad enough. Then he went to the Lyson family and beat my cousin and my distant cousin to death. He even injured my father."
"Master, you have to stand up for me."
Cloud Quinny was the Young Master of the Profound Heaven Sect. The Venerable Beastmaster frowned. "It won't be easy to move against him."
The entire Profound Heaven Sect protected Cloud Quinny. Even the Profound Heaven Patriarch had intervened for his sake.
And that Profound Heaven Patriarch was not someone to take lightly. With the Venerable Beastmaster's current strength, he was not confident he could defeat him.
A long-faced man suddenly spoke. "Master, and Junior Sister. We may not be able to touch that trash Cloud Quinny for the time being, but we can touch the Profound Heaven Sect's Core Disciple."
"The Ten Sects Assembly is the day after tomorrow. Their Core Disciple will all attend. As long as we target the Profound Heaven Sect, we can wipe them out."
Luna Lyson's eyes lit up.
Right. If she could not deal with Cloud Quinny yet, she could deal with the Profound Heaven Sect's Core Disciple.
If those Core Disciple were all dead, the Profound Heaven Sect would have no one to inherit its future. It would collapse soon enough.
Once the Profound Heaven Sect fell, that trash Cloud Quinny would have no one left to shelter him.
Even if Cloud Quinny had hidden his cultivation base, so what if he was at the Fifth Level of the Energy Condensation Realm? In Luna Lyson's eyes, he was only slightly better than trash.
Trash that was a little stronger was still trash.
