On the fifth day after Cora Yavener returned home, Evan Lyson finally couldn't take her coldness any longer. In front of their son, he demanded, "You chose to come back, so that means you've forgiven me. If you've forgiven me, why do you keep giving me the cold shoulder?" Cora took their son back to his room, then pulled a Divorce Agreement from her bag. "Sign it." Her expression was blank, giving nothing away. Evan stared at the papers, stunned for a moment. Then, his temper flaring, he tore the Divorce Agreement to shreds. "Cora, what the hell is this? I told you, I'm not getting a divorce. Is this about Hayden Sabey? I heard he went to France too. Are you two together? Is that why you had the baby aborted?" Smack! Evan was so angry he said whatever came to mind. Cora had been perfectly calm until his last accusation. Her expression changed, and she struck him hard across the face. "Evan, you bastard! How dare you bring up the baby? How dare you even mention our child!"
