The next day, at the mate ceremony. Alpha Kane stood at the center of the ceremonial stage, holding a white rose. Guests below eagerly awaited, while cameras from global media outlets broadcast the event live. At exactly noon, the ceremony officially began. The entrance music for Luna played, and Kane's palms began to sweat nervously. As the music ended, there was no movement at the main doors. Guests started whispering among themselves. Just as Kane was about to send a message, the emcee stepped onto the stage. "Honored guests and Alpha Kane, thank you for your patience. Luna Aria mentioned yesterday that she wanted to surprise the Alpha, so an additional segment has been added to the ceremony." Kane's tense heart finally eased. So this was the surprise his little wolf had spoken of. "Everyone, please look at the screen!" All the guests raised their heads toward the large screen. A smile appeared on Kane's face, and he too eagerly anticipated the surprise. But the next moment, the content on the screen changed everyone's expressions. The screen displayed two figures entangled on a sofa, their primitive gasps echoing intermittently. Initially, the guests couldn’t identify them and began murmuring among themselves. "Who are these two? How dare they ruin Alpha Kane's mate ceremony?" But Kane recognized them instantly—it was him and Julia! He roared furiously at the emcee. "Turn it off! Turn it off now!" The emcee hurried backstage to stop the video, but the computer had frozen and wouldn’t respond. As the video played to its climax, the faces of the two individuals became unmistakably clear to everyone. The venue erupted into chaos. "My goodness, it’s Alpha Kane! Is he cheating on Luna Aria?!" "Wasn’t Kane supposed to only love his Omega? So why is he with a Beta?" Meanwhile, the livestream had attracted nearly five million viewers, with comments flooding in. "So Kane’s just another Alpha who can’t keep it in his pants!" "I feel so ashamed for ever praising him as the perfect Alpha!" Kane immediately ordered the video and livestream to be shut down. He grabbed the microphone and demanded that no one on-site speak of what had happened. Someone muttered under their breath. "Didn’t they say this was a gift prepared by Aria? Maybe she knew all along." Kane's face turned pale. This was the possibility he dreaded most. He tried to reassure himself. Aria was a fool. She never checked surveillance footage. As long as no one mentioned it to her, she wouldn’t find out. But the prolonged absence of his Omega began to unsettle Kane. He pulled out his phone and sent a message to Aria. "Little wolf, are you here yet?" One minute passed, but there was no reply. Sweat formed on Kane’s palms. Just as he was about to make a call, the main doors of the ceremony hall slowly opened. Every pair of eyes in the room turned to the entrance. Kane’s face lit up with joy. His little wolf had finally arrived. Thankfully, the video had been dealt with. Holding the bouquet, he walked forward slowly, ready to welcome his mate. But just as he extended his hand, he froze. It wasn’t his long-awaited mate who entered. Instead, several men dressed in black walked in, carrying a coffin behind them. Kane’s eyes burned with fury, but one of the men stepped forward, his face filled with sympathy. "Alpha Kane, your mate took her own life yesterday. We are deeply sorry for your loss." Kane refused to believe it. Just yesterday, he had spoken with Aria. She had been fine, so how could she have committed suicide? He let out a cold laugh. "You think playing that video wasn’t enough? Now you’re spreading lies about my mate’s death? Tell me, who sent you here?!" The sympathy in the man’s eyes deepened as he gestured toward the coffin. "If you don’t believe us, you can see for yourself." Kane scoffed, his anger flaring. "Fine! Let’s see what kind of trick you’re playing!" He stormed toward the coffin, but the moment his gaze fell upon the person inside, all the strength drained from his body. "Aria!"
