The night before the pack's annual celebration, Kieran came home late. "I’m leaving for a business trip tomorrow," he said offhandedly, not even looking at me. "I'll meet you directly at the celebration when I return." I didn't reply. My silence must have irritated him because he turned to face me. "Are you mad?" He frowned. "Just because I had a private meeting with Seraphina?" I met his gaze, my expression calm. "No," I said softly. "I understand." He smirked, as if pleased by my response....
