Chapter 10: Time to Leave

(Aline POV) I wandered the streets aimlessly for a long time, carrying that box full of personal belongings, like an abandoned wanderer. Eventually, I unconsciously returned to Evan's house. This really was the only place I could call "home" now, even though this home was still very strange to me. The door opened, and I walked in. The living room was very quiet. Warm sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the small decorations I had carefully arranged yesterday....
