William Li's ex-girlfriend, Cindy Chen!
They had been together since high school and were even close to discussing marriage three years ago.
But Cindy Chen insisted that William Li pay a dowry of 188,000 yuan and buy her a house before she would marry him.
William Li, just a worker, barely managed to save enough for a down payment on a house, let alone afford the dowry.
Moreover, Cindy Chen was lazy and vain, spending lavishly on her desires, always at William Li’s expense. He could hardly save any money.
In the end, she left him for a wealthy man.
"Cindy Chen, long time no see..." William Li didn't expect to run into his ex-girlfriend here.
"What long time no see, William Li? Don't think I don't know; you came here on purpose to find me, right? But I've already told you, we're not in the same world anymore!" Cindy Chen scoffed and pointed to the clothes' brand. "Do you know what this is? This is Prada, not something a loser like you can afford!"
Cindy Chen’s words made William Li’s expression turn unpleasant.
After all, they had been together since their student days. Despite three years having passed, William Li still felt unsettled about Cindy Chen.
He couldn't understand why the once innocent girl had become like this.
But he didn't blame Cindy Chen; maybe it was his own lack of success.
"Let's go to another store," William Li suggested to Aiden Ye.
"Why should we change? Let's stay here," Aiden Ye said, squinting his eyes.
Cindy Chen was just an employee at a luxury store, thinking too highly of herself.
But that was normal; Prada is a top luxury brand, and Cindy Chen saw wealthy bosses regularly, so her standards had naturally risen.
This is a common issue for many women. Once they date someone with a Porsche, they start to think only those kinds of men are suitable for them.
"Oh, isn't that the live-in son-in-law Aiden Ye? You're still alive? Can you even afford this store? Do you know what Prada is? Top luxury brand, you probably can't even afford a pair of socks!" Cindy Chen sneered.
"Cindy Chen, you can't talk to Aiden like that!" William Li didn't care about being insulted by Cindy Chen, but he wouldn't allow her to insult Aiden Ye.
"Heh, how should I talk to him then? Three years ago, he was nothing more than a dog of the Shen family, and now that they don't want him, he's nothing. William Li, I told you three years ago not to hang around this loser. Look at you now, aren't you worse off?" Cindy Chen was ridiculed.
Slap!
William Li slapped Cindy Chen across the face.
"William Li, you... you dare to hit me!" Cindy Chen looked at William Li in disbelief.
In the past, William Li treated her like a queen.
He never even dared to speak loudly to her, and now, he had slapped her.
"If you dare to insult Aiden again, I'll tear your mouth!" William Li said coldly.
He knew that the Cindy Chen he knew was gone, so there was no need to be polite.
William Li, although thinner, was still tall. Cindy Chen, in front of him, seemed like a small chick and dared not be rude anymore.
She knew William Li was very protective of his brother.
She said coldly, "Please leave!"
"We came to buy clothes. Why should we leave?" Aiden Ye said.
"In this store, there's nothing cheaper than 10,000 yuan. I heard Elsa Shen only gave you 500 yuan a month for pocket money. Can you afford it?" Cindy Chen sneered.
"Are you so sure I can't afford it?" Aiden Ye asked, narrowing his eyes.
"What's going on, Cindy? Why are you driving customers away?" At this moment, another female employee walked in from outside.
She and Cindy Chen were both employees here, and she had just gone to the restroom.
"It's nothing, just came across two poor guys. I told them to leave so they wouldn't dirty our clothes," Cindy Chen said disdainfully.
"Everyone who comes in is a customer. How can we drive them away? What clothes would you like to see? You can try anything," the female employee said gently to Aiden Ye and William Li, even bowing slightly to them.
This lady seemed nice and was even more attractive than Cindy Chen.
However, she must have joined later than Cindy Chen, as her name tag read 'intern'.
"You have no sense at all. Just like this, you'll never become a permanent staff. If you want to serve them, go ahead!" Cindy Chen sneered and stopped paying attention to them.
The intern began to introduce clothes to them carefully.
Even taking down clothes they were interested in for them to try.
"Aren't you afraid we won't buy?" Aiden Ye asked the female employee with a smile.
"It's okay. There's no rule saying you have to buy just because you came in," the female employee replied with a sweet smile.
Aiden Ye nodded and said, "Alright then, wrap these up for me!"
"Ah?" The female employee was clearly surprised, not expecting Aiden Ye actually to buy.
"Did I not make myself clear?"
"That, that will cost quite a bit..." The female employee seemed to doubt Aiden Ye's ability to pay.
"Are you worried I don't have the money?" Aiden Ye frowned.
"No, of course not... I'll wrap it up then..."
"Wrap it up!"
"Just warning you, if you dirty these clothes, you'll have to buy them, and you won't be able to afford them if you sell yourself!" Cindy Chen interjected coldly at that moment.
The female employee became afraid.
After all, she was just an intern.
She definitely couldn't afford to pay for them.
"Let's swipe the card first!" To allay the female employee's fears, Aiden Ye took out his bank card and asked her to charge him first.
"It's okay, sir, I trust you," the female employee began packing the clothes for Aiden Ye.
She packed very carefully, afraid of accidentally wrinkling or dirtying them.
Watching this, a cold smile appeared on Cindy Chen's face.
She walked over with a cup of coffee to the female employee, who was focused on packing, and patted her on the shoulder.
At that moment, the female employee was highly focused, and Cindy Chen’s sudden pat startled her.
The female employee reflexively knocked over Cindy Chen's coffee.
The coffee spilled over the clothes being packed.
Even several pieces that Aiden Ye didn't want got stained.
The female employee was shocked by this incident.
Even if Aiden Ye didn't buy a single piece, she could have still put them back for sale.
But now, with coffee stains, they were ruined.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry. I saw you working hard at packing and thought you might want a drink," Cindy Chen feigned an innocent expression.
Then, she said with a smirk, "Oh dear, all these clothes are dirty now. What to do? You'll have to buy them all yourself!"
