“It’s impossible.”
Hearing it, Alex’ face turned purple but he was still stubborn.
“Seeing is believing.” Jocelyn glanced at him with a contemptuous look.
The man was pathetic, too. He even couldn’t know the bitch’s true colors. It was a waste he got brain.
“Jocelyn, Katherine’s temper is not too good, sometimes she would do things out of lines. But she is not the kind of person you say, there is no evidence, you should not judge your sister so.”
Alex even started teaching her. Jocelyn was even more contemptuous. She was deeply suspicious of why the body's owner fell in love with this kind of man.
Because of his look? Not to mention to compare with Arthur, he couldn’t even compare with Nicola Morrison. He was totally nothing comparing with him.
“No evidence?” Jocelyn rolled her eyes. "She couldn’t change her nature. That is my evidence. "
Katherine never let go of any opportunity.
Jocelyn heard that Arthur was going to play chess with Father Turner. Now Father Turner should be looking for a chessboard, and Arthur should be alone in the study. It was the only chance for Katherine if she was really interested in Arthur.
“Jocelyn, what happened to you?” Alex looked painful.
She knew he was going to teach her again. Then a sound of a glass breaking came from the study.
Jocelyn left Alex and walked away in a hurry. She hid the joy in her heart. Then it was opening the door, screaming and shocking, all the emotions was so smooth.
“Arthur, are you all right? Are you hurt?"
Arthur was still in his wheelchair and there was still no expression on his face. There were a broken tea cup, a ground of water and Katherine, who was sitting in the water and looked embarrassed.
“I am fine." Arthur glanced at Jocelyn and said in a cold voice. "But your family education is quite unique."
In fact, his scold included Jocelyn. But the situation was so confused that the man at door and the woman on the ground didn’t know that at all.
Jocelyn's mind was running fast, looked directly at Alex Smith at the door and scolded.
“Alex, you should give her more control. It’s all right in front of Arthur, he is your brother-in-law. But if others see this, it’s totally a joke. It can lose face for us.”
Alex was so embarrassed that he kept staring at Katherine in anger. But he even couldn’t say a word, there was only disgust left in his heart.
Katherine did not expect things would be like this. She stood up slowly.
“Alex, it is not what you think...”
“...”
After they left, Jocelyn called the servant to clean up the broken cup and asked Arthur casually. “Do you still want to stay after this? "
Arthur looked at her with his sparking eyes.
“You seem indifferent about these things.”
Jocelyn got nervous. “Actually, it’s not like what you said. This is my family. You have known before we married. I can’t hide it. If you don’t like, you can just let me back alone, there is no need for you to accompany me to come back.”
That was not what Arthur asked. She dragged the point away.
Father Turner had found the chessboard and went back. So, the topic was over.
Jocelyn didn’t have interest in watching Arthur and Father playing chess, so she went to the yard alone to watch the flowers and trees. And the sound of a man and a woman were arguing deep in the garden.
Jocelyn stopped and watched Katherine defending herself in front of Alex. Hearing her brilliant logic, she even wanted to applaud for her.
“I just want to know whether my brother-in-law is reliable. Do not forget our thing. It really hurt her. I’m just anxious for my sister.”
Katherine even made this lie up, and Alex was moved?
They were such a match.
When it was almost at dusk, Arthur called his aide to push the wheelchair. Before they could retain him, he said he would go back.
Jocelyn politely took the wheelchair from his aide. "It is time to go. It is getting late. You have to go home for dinner. Your body is weak. "
Arthur accustomed to the way Jocelyn acted. He nodded to the Turners who came to say goodbye to him, and directly got into the car.
Two jeeps went ahead and the other two jeeps was behind the car. Jocelyn followed Arthur to get in the black car. They sat together without a word.
The atmosphere was a little awkward for a moment.
For a long time, Jocelyn whispered, " Thank you. "
“For what?”
“Thank you for backing me up.” Jocelyn said this without conscience. She knew that Arthur had other intents, but at least he did support her.
Arthur slightly glanced at her and changed the subject. "Next monday you are going to work for father's company. I heard from mother that you do not want to be director of design, but you want to start as an assistant? "
“Yes.” Jocelyn nodded. "I do not want to be judged, I can just take my time and I won’t bother you."
“You know that.” Arthur said directly. "Since you do not know anything, do not follow others to enter the workplace.”
Hearing it, Jocelyn, who was moved at first, said angrily. "Know nothing? I have been studying drawing since I was young, and I have learned jewelry design for eight years. Now you say I know nothing?”
“Jewelry design?”
Arthur suddenly looked at her and said in a calm voice. "Did not you study pharmacology in college? "
Jocelyn's face suddenly changed and her heart was beating.
She spilt the beans accidently. Jocelyn used to study pharmacology, and Joanne, herself, studied jewelry design!
“I...”
The atmosphere froze. Under Arthur's oppressive gaze, she panicked, unable to speak even a word to cover for herself.
At this point, a loud noise came from the window, cracks were like spider web, quickly spreading on the window. Suddenly the window was broken into fragmentations.
The bullets penetrated into the car. The men sitting on the driver's seat and also the passenger’s seat were shot down. The whole road was in a mess. The sound of brakes and crashing was mixed, which was extremely sharp.
The moment Jocelyn saw blood, she screamed, but was quickly pushed down by a powerful arm. Then she heard a deep voice.
“Stay here and don’t move.”
She turned her face, and saw the cold side face of Arthur. Their noses almost met. He put on a serious face and took out intercom calmly.
“What is going on?”
After the electric current sound, inside the intercom came a man's voice. "Chief, it’s an ambush. Someone attacked us, are you all right? "
“I’m fine.”
Arthur answered him, looked up into the distance and said in a low voice. "Ten o'clock, there is a sniper on top of the building, finish the sniper first. "
“Yes.”
Jocelyn was pinned down by Arthur and unable to move. Seeing he was commanding calmly, and she was a person who had lost life once. So she calmed down and asked.
“What can I do for you?”
