Arthur froze for a while with doubts, but it was just for a while.
“No, stay quiet and mind your own business.”
After that, another bullet flied over. It grazed Arthur's ear, leaving a bloody mark.
Jocelyn was afraid to move and whispered.
“Who are they?”
“They can be anybody." Arthur looked calm and looked around. His eyes fell on the soldier sitting on the passenger’s seat. "Did you just say you want to help me?”
“Yes.” Jocelyn came back to herself. “What do you want me to do? "
“Give me that gun.”
There was a gun on the soldier’s back. He was already bleeding. Jocelyn thought that he was probably dead.
Jocelyn took a cold breath.
“Scared?” Arthur asked.
It was normal to be afraid, not to mention a woman like Jocelyn.
“Give me a knife.” Jocelyn reached out to him and said. "Plus, you pinned me down, I can not move. Just move yourself.”
Then, under Arthur's surprised gaze, Jocelyn grabbed a Swiss army knife, crawled under the seat, and cut off the rope tied to the gun. Finally, she got the gun.
She was so calm that she did not even shake her hands in the whole process.
“Here you go.”
Jocelyn crawled under the seat beside the pedal and handed the rifle to Arthur, who was still lying there.
Arthur had no time to think about it, put his gun at a comfortable angle in his hand, put it on the window with full of broken glass on it, and shot at a few figures in a distant garden.
“Enemies are all cleared at 12 o'clock, I will draw fire. You search sniper on the top floor as soon as possible.”
“Yes.”
In a flash of lightning, Jocelyn's ears were filled with gunfire and screams as the enemy fell to the ground.
She could see Arthur's cold face when she raised her head. Now he was like a real soldier when he commanded calmly. His charm could not be concealed at all.
It was hard to imagine how an excellent man like him faced his own dignity and competitiveness when his legs were wounded in the middle of a drill.
Jocelyn analyzed by her own and heard the voice coming from the intercom.
“Snipers have been cleared, the special forces in the fourth zone have arrived, the enemy situation is basically relieved. Chief, are you all right?”
“I’m fine.”
As Arthur put his gun down, a guard came to open the door and changed car for Arthur. He got out of the car and sat in his wheelchair, with his eyes falling on Jocelyn, who was patting dust over her. The doubts in his eyes was more.
Jocelyn was choked by the smell of the bullet and sneezed. She accidently saw a dark hole from the rearview mirror.
She was still in a daze, and someone pushed her from behind. Then she heard Arthur’s low voice.
“Get out of the way...”
Before he finished his words, the bullet grazed Jocelyn's hair, straight hit the door of the car and blew out a black gray mark of coke.
Two guards on Arthur's side almost instantly killed the lurker in the flower bed.
Jocelyn fell on the ground, put her hands on the chest with fear.
Although she had been dead once, but this dangerous feeling would be still frightening no matter how many times you had been dead.
“Chief, do you hurt?”
The voice of the guard came.
Jocelyn scrambled up and staggered towards him. "How are you? Where have you been hurt? "
When Arthur pushed her, the wheelchair backed quickly under reaction force. His arms wiped against the broken glass on the car window. The sleeve of his shirt was bleeding red.
“Nothing. Bring the first-aid kit.”
Arthur looked calm and commanded. He got into the other car with the help of Jocelyn, and the security guard brought them the emergency supplies.
“You have to go to the hospital.” Jocelyn looked at his wounds with concern.
After all, Arthur wouldn’t get hurt if he didn’t save her, which proved he wasn’t a particularly cruel person.
“Just a simple dressing, didn’t you learn that when you study medicine?”
Arthur's voice pulled her back to reality and her face changed slightly.
“What is the matter?” Arthur looked at her face and his eyes became deeper and deeper. "You don’t know how to do?”
“Of course I know.”
Jocelyn bit the bullet and opened the first-aid kit. "It has been a long time since I did it. I’m a little strange to do it. If you do not mind, I will just give you a simple dressing and leave the rest to the hospital."
“I do not mind.”
When she heard the three simple words, Jocelyn’s heart missed a beat. She could just follow her memory to find the medicine to clean the wound.
Alcohol, gauze, cotton balls, these steps were very detailed in her memory. Jocelyn Turner was a little nervous, but when she got these things, a sense of familiarity suddenly came to her, which made her at ease.
Sure enough, this body used to study medicine, she could feel it when she grabbed the things. When she grabbed the things, the body seemed to know where to put itself. She didn’t have to think on herself.
“Well, do not touch the water these days.”
Jocelyn put things back to the first-aid kit and said with confidence. "It seemed I still can do this well. You don’t have to go to the hospital now. "
Arthur looked at her with his deep eyes.
“I remember you just told me you had studied jewelry design for eight years.”
“That is an elective.”
She had figured out how to answer his questions after this accident. “That is just my own hobby. I have learnt for many years, but I didn’t have a real opportunity to study it systematically. So I let my father give me a chance to work in the design department of the company. "
“Well?” Arthur’s eyes were so deep and so dark. He said significantly. "You had plenty of time to allow you to learn jewelry design while studying medicine."
“Because I like it.” Jocelyn smiled at him calmly. She was so calm that he couldn’t see her flaws.
Car arrived at the Morrisons.
The Morrisons had heard about the attack. First, Selena Alger cried loudly and complained the troops for the lack of security. Then she cried and complained her life was miserable. After Mr. Morrison scolded her, she could finally stop.
Mr. Morrison looked at Arthur and asked.”
“I heard you had been to the Turners today?”
“Yes.”
Then Mr. Morrison nodded thoughtfully. "It is time to go to visit them. After all, you have been married for three years. Three years ago your body was weak, so didn’t accompanied Jocelyn to go back. This is the thing you should do. But this attack is a little weird. "
Hearing this, there was a chill in Arthur's eyes.
“It is weird.”
The Morrisons lived near the military region. He usually didn’t go to the other places except the troops. But this attack just happened when he went back home.It was hard to believe if this wasn’t prepared by someone in advance.
