"Quickly, take the old master to the hospital!" The old butler urgently exclaimed.
"It's too late."
Noah Jiang stepped forward, opened the medical box, and took out a set of silver needles, preparing to administer them to Master Ruan.
The situation was very critical. If his sudden symptoms weren't stabilized in time, there was a risk to his life.
"What are you doing? Can a quack like you cure my father's illness? Get away!" Aria protected Master Ruan, preventing Noah Jiang from administering the needle.
"Elder sister, do you still expect him to treat our father?"
Alfie Wang stepped out, pointing at Enzo Zhang, whose face was full of panic. Trusting Noah Jiang's medical skills, he said, "Let Doctor Jiang administer the needle. If anything happens to the old master, I'll take responsibility!"
"Fine, wife, step aside. Let them try. I want to see what skills this quack has to treat the old master." Max Zhao immediately pulled Aria back, allowing Noah Jiang to proceed.
However, a hint of malicious intent flashed in his eyes as he looked at Alfie Wang and Noah Jiang, sneering inwardly.
If the old master met any mishap under Noah Jiang's treatment, he would have a reason to claim that Alfie Wang brought a quack to kill the old master. Then, the entire Ruan family's inheritance would be his.
"Young man, my father-in-law's life is in your hands now." Alfie Wang was anxious, but he still trusted Noah Jiang.
With a solemn expression, Noah Jiang instructed Alfie Wang to lay the old master flat on the living room carpet. He then removed the old man's shirt, pressed his finger to the acupoint on his chest, and took out a 20mm silver needle, slowly inserting it into the acupoint. An energy invisible to the naked eye was transferred into the old master through the needle.
After a moment, Noah Jiang withdrew his hand and took out a 15mm silver needle, positioning it at the acupoint on top of the old master's head. He steadily inserted it, infusing another stream of energy. Immediately, the old master's eyelids twitched as if sensing something.
Standing nearby were Max Zhao, Aria, the old butler, and a few servants. They watched with focused attention as Noah Jiang performed the treatment. Seeing the old master showing signs of life made Alfie Wang both anxious and excited.
"The third needle, Yujue, Spirit Penetration!"
Noah Jiang took out the third needle and swiftly inserted it into the old master's Fengquan acupoint.
"Cough, cough."
The old master coughed twice and gradually regained consciousness. Alfie Wang sighed in relief, a smile forming on his tense face.
"What..."
Max Zhao and Aria were shocked to see the old master waking up.
Standing aside, Enzo Zhang stared at Noah Jiang in astonishment, his heart racing.
"Don't move. Lie down for a while."
Seeing Master Ruan regaining consciousness, Noah Jiang let out a slight breath, wiping the sweat from his face. Using his energy to perform the third needle of the Nine-turn Magic Needle technique was quite draining for him.
"Young man, you are truly miraculous."
An excited Alfie Wang approached Noah Jiang, asking, "How is the old master now?"
"Mm, I've stabilized his sudden symptoms. However, I'll need to administer another needle soon." Noah Jiang nodded.
"That's good, as long as the old master is alright." Alfie Wang said eagerly, hoping for his father-in-law's recovery.
Noah Jiang turned to the tense-faced Enzo Zhang beside him and said, "You're not from Longren Clinic, are you?"
"Isn’t him from Longren Clinic?" Alfie Wang was startled and turned to look at Enzo Zhang.
Even Max Zhao and Aria were stunned. Noah Jiang coldly said: "Even though I had never seen a doctor from Longren Clinic, I had heard about them long ago!
Master Ruan's illness, which resulted in his constant coughing, pale face, and purple hue between his eyebrows, is due to accumulated qi in the lungs. From a diagnostic perspective, the area between the eyebrows corresponds to the lungs. Such obvious symptoms are something even a beginner in traditional Chinese medicine could identify. But if you couldn't see it, it just shows that you don't understand traditional Chinese medicine at all and you're certainly not a doctor from Longren Clinic."
"So, not knowing traditional Chinese medicine means he's an imposter?"
Alfie Wang was taken aback, and nearby, the couple Max Zhao and Aria were completely dumbfounded.
Having been directly exposed by Noah Jiang, Enzo Zhang's face was filled with sorrow. He thought to himself, 'How could I be so unlucky today? Meeting such a patient with an unexpected condition, I'm finished.'
"Oh! So you're not from Longren Clinic. You're a fraud!"
"Call the police! Arrest him right now!"
Max Zhao and his wife reacted, their emotions running high. They immediately ordered people to restrain Enzo Zhang.
After lying on the carpet and resting for a while, Master Ruan's complexion gradually improved, and his previous intense coughing had reduced significantly. Noah Jiang approached to remove the silver needles, and with Alfie Wang's assistance, helped him sit back on the grand master's chair.
"Dad, it was our fault. We didn't know that Enzo Zhang was a fraud. We thought he was genuinely from Longren Clinic," Max Zhao and Aria immediately knelt in front of Master Ruan, explaining with regret and anger.
Master Ruan weakly waved his hand. Noah Jiang said: "First, let's help Master Ruan back to his room. I need to apply the second round of needles."
"Alright, Butler, please help Master Ruan to his room and let Dr. Jiang continue the treatment."
Alfie Wang quickly nodded in agreement. The old butler and the servants helped Master Ruan back to his room. Noah Jiang, carrying his medical kit, followed closely. He didn't even look at Max Zhao and his wife who remained kneeling.
Max Zhao helped Aria up and glared fiercely at Alfie Wang, warning: "Alfie Wang, don't think you've achieved something great by saving the old master. We'll see."
"Brother-in-law, sister, take care."
Watching Max Zhao and his wife leave dejectedly, Alfie Wang felt quite pleased. He then entered the old master's room, where Noah Jiang was applying the second round of acupuncture.
The old master seemed to be drifting into sleep. Judging by his complexion and breathing, he was evidently much better.
In half an hour, Noah Jiang had finished the acupuncture, collected the silver needles, and put them back in their case. He stood up slowly, taking a deep breath, wiping the sweat from his forehead. The second round of acupuncture had drained him.
"Young man, how is my father-in-law now?" Alfie Wang asked in a low voice.
"Well, the second acupuncture session helped alleviate Master Ruan's accumulated qi in the lungs. Fortunately, his accumulation wasn't excessive; otherwise, he would've needed surgery," Noah Jiang motioned for everyone to leave, so they wouldn't disturb Master Ruan's rest.
"Thank you, young man."
Alfie Wang nodded, increasingly admiring Noah Jiang's medical skills. He also felt proud, having earned some face in front of his father-in-law.
"It's nothing, you’re too courteous."
Noah Jiang waved it off. Everyone returned to the living room. He then opened his medical kit, took out paper and pen, and said: "I'll prescribe a formula for Master Ruan now. He should take it for a week, and then I'll come back for a follow-up."
The old butler respectfully stood by. After Noah Jiang wrote down the prescription, he carefully instructed the butler on how to prepare the medicine. It wasn't until after midday that Noah Jiang and Alfie Wang left the mansion and drove back to Traditional Chinese Medicine Street.
