Hannah was visibly shaken today. William instructed Alexander to take her and her daughter back home to rest. On the way to the Xu's Villa, Hannah made a call to Andrew Yang, asking him to visit the Xu's Villa in the evening.
Upon reaching the Xu's Villa, Grace Fang was overjoyed. She immediately embraced Little Evelyn, continuously cooing "My little treasure."
"Mom, please see to their accommodation. I need to make a trip to the security company," Alexander bid farewell to them and drove straight to the security company.
Watching Alexander Xu's departing figure, Grace smiled at Hannah and said, "That boy, he could have stayed for a chat! Really!"
Her words sounded like a complaint, but there was undeniable pride in her voice. Her son was on the right path now, becoming a true man.
"Let him be. He rarely takes his duties seriously. Besides, Evelyn and I will be staying here for a while. We'll have plenty of time to talk later," Hannah thought of Alexander visiting the injured, remembering how he riskily saved Evelyn, and felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
Arriving at the company, Alexander saw Brandon and others training. He called Brandon over and asked, "How's the injured one?"
"It's nothing serious, just a graze from a stray bullet. Won't affect our training," Brandon replied excitedly.
The day's battle made them realize their progress. Previously, defeating such fierce opponents would have taken at least an hour with suppressive firepower. Today, they did it in just half an hour using their makeshift weapons. The progress was beyond their expectations, and the team was eager to train harder.
Seeing the team's spirits high, Alexander Xu nodded, "Train hard. We have a mission in ten days!"
"What mission?" Brandon Li's eyes sparkled with a bloodthirsty fervor, and his long-suppressed lust for battle reignited.
"You'll know when the time comes," Alexander smiled and instructed Brandon, "Keep a close watch on Jason. Report his whereabouts and list everyone he contacts. Be cautious; Jason has skilled people around him."
The Li Family's power matched that of the Chen Family, thanks to their formidable forces. He didn't want any accidents for those monitoring Jason Li.
"Understood, I'll ensure tight surveillance," Brandon assured.
After instructing Brandon, Alexander called Anthony Chen, "Anthony, do you have any info on Jason Li?"
As underworld figures, the Chen Family controlled the northern district of Tianhai City. The Chen and Li families divided Tianhai's underground forces, each guarding their territories. They were rivals, yet unable to overpower each other.
Both families often clashed over territories. Under national crackdowns, they had been relatively quiet in recent years, but covert struggles persisted, rarely escalating into full-scale battles.
Alexander believed Anthony would have information on Jason Li.
"Jason Li?" Anthony sounded puzzled on the phone, "Boss, why do you need his info? Did that scum offend you? Want me to take him out? I've always disliked him."
His tone indicated a keen interest in eliminating Jason.
"Calm down! If you cause trouble, your dad won't let you off! Just send me Jason's info and don't worry about the rest," Alexander replied, slightly irritated.
If he wanted Jason Li dead, it would be easy, but he needed to understand why Jason targeted Evelyn and if other forces were involved. He intended to eradicate the Li Family from Tianhai if necessary, without causing unnecessary turmoil.
The two families had finally settled down. If there was a quarrel because of this guy, and the people above were really serious about it. Both families would not be able to please each other. As the culprit, Anthony would definitely be severely punished. The punishments of these gangs were not as simple as a beating, they would often involve amputating hands and feet. He didn't want Anthony to have any accidents because of his own affairs.
"Okay, I'll send you Jason Li's info," Anthony chuckled, then asked, "By the way, Boss, what have you been up to? You haven't hung out with us since leaving the hospital. You seem like a different person."
Alexander was taken aback. Did Anthony notice the change?
"Just busy with the security company. Once I'm done, we'll meet up. I'm thinking of turning over a new leaf. You guys should consider it too, stop messing around," Alexander advised.
"Ha, you turning over a new leaf?" Anthony laughed, "I'll tell the others, let's see what you've become!"
Anthony didn't believe a word about the change and never saw anything wrong with their lifestyle. Why change if it's not wrong?
"Sure, call me before you come," Alexander agreed readily, already aware they noticed his change and wanted them to get used to it.
Shortly after hanging up, Anthony sent over Jason Li's details.
Jason Li, real name Aaron Li, 27 years old, the only son of Eric Li and grandson of Brian Li, the current head of the Li Family.
Personality: cold, ruthless, decisive, and cunning with a knack for treachery.
Public Identity: Vice General Manager of Bowen Group.
True Identity: Strategist of the Blood Wolf Squad, assisting his father Eric Li.
Reliable sources indicated that Jason Li oversaw most of the Blood Wolf Squad's operations, and Brian Li might be grooming him as a successor. Jason Li's influence in the squad could surpass Eric Li's.
...
The rest of the information was trivial, detailing Jason Li's affairs and liaisons.
Reading Jason Li's profile, Alexander smirked wryly at the lack of substantial information amidst the gossip. But one thing was certain: the kidnappers of Evelyn were indeed from the Blood Wolf Squad.
"Heh, if the Blood Wolf Squad dares to strike, they're doomed. Tianhai's landscape is due for a change."
Deleting Jason Li's information from his phone, Alexander turned on the TV. It had been nearly two hours since they left the warehouse, and the police must have arrived by now.
As expected, a beautiful reporter appeared on the screen, reporting from the scene, "This morning, around ten, a shocking shooting incident occurred near an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts, resulting in thirty-two deaths. The police suspect it's a gang shootout. The criminals were highly skilled, leaving no evidence. We'll now interview Captain Yang, in charge of the investigation."
The camera shifted to Andrew's face, and the reporter asked sharply, "Captain Yang, what's the police's next move? Any suspects? How soon can we expect a breakthrough?"
The question asked by this reporter was quite pointed. Alexander folded his hands and watched the TV with interest, wanting to see how his brother-in-law planned to deal with it.
Alexander watched intently as his brother-in-law, Andrew Yang, straightened his posture and spoke, "We believe the incident is gang-related, with criminals likely having military training, possibly involving a terrorist group. The authorities have decided to conduct anti-terror drills citywide to combat these gangs. We assure the public of our investigative capabilities and urge everyone to assist. Rewards will be offered for useful information..."
Listening to Andrew's official rhetoric, Alexander admired his evasion of direct answers, even bringing in terrorism, a masterful deflection.
The reporter tried to ask more questions, but the scene was being cordoned off, and interviews were declined.
Switching channels, Alexander noted widespread coverage of the incident, signifying police attention.
As a former Law Enforcer, he was used to causing dozens of casualties. He hadn't considered how a thirty-plus death toll from a shooting would be perceived by ordinary people.
The entire Tianhai police force, including Captain Andrew Yang, was under immense pressure to solve the case within half a month.
Frustrated, Andrew kicked a wall, "How can I solve this in half a month?!"
With years in the force, Andrew had never encountered such a case. Except for one victim strangled, the others were expertly shot, either in the forehead or chest. Such precision indicated highly trained perpetrators.
The more skilled the criminals, the harder the case. Externally, it could be framed as a gang shootout, but the police knew better. If gangsters were this professional, what use were the police?
"Damn it, who did these bastards provoke!" Andrew Yang cursed, kicking a nearby corpse.
