Chapter 4

"Mom I don't want to do this anymore," I told her as we sat outside of the large university. I was just wearing a pair of black basketball shorts some Jordan's and a hoodie then plus my wig.
"Oh no. Don't you dare chicken out! You never know after all this you may date one of these guys some of them are fine,” my mom said, winking at a guy making him and I both choke on our own spit in disgust.
"Can you not," I asked, glaring at her.
"Sorry, being here makes me think of my college days. I was one hot sexy prude back then,” she said fixing up her hair and lipstick.
"Prude?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yea that's what all the boys would call me,” she told me before puckering her lips.
"Mom, do you know what a prude is?" I asked her and she nodded.
"I'm not that old Claire I'm only forty-one. When they started calling me a prude I didn't know but when I asked they told me it was another word for sex goddess,” she told me flipping her hair. I stared at her for a minute before bursting out laughing, tears started to form in my eyes from laughing so hard.
"What? What is so funny?” she asked me.
"Nothing mom," I told her shaking my head and biting my lip to hold back any more laughter.
"Okay, well you have to get going you want to try to get the best bed. Remember to call me so you can let me know how things are going and it's still college so have some fun and make some friends. Don't just spend all of your time stalking your father,” she told me and I simply nodded.
Yeah, because it's easy having fun and making friends while pretending to be a boy.
"Here is a bag of your regular clothes just in case you do get some free time. Just remember I love you and if anyone calls you a prude you are off to a very great start. Now bye honey!" she said waving, and I shut the car door. In case you haven't noticed my mom is a little weird. I decided to make it easier on myself and put my stuff on my skateboard and just roll it.
"Great idea man," a guy told me walking next to me as he struggled with his stuff.
"Thanks!" I said and he gave me a weird look. My eyes widened and I quickly corrected myself and coughed.
"Sorry I have a cold my voice is a little off but um yeah thanks, bro," I said lowering my voice and giving him a light punch on the shoulder he gave me another weird look and nodded.
"Well, I have to go hope to see you around,” he said and I nodded and he started to walk away but I still heard him mumble,
"Loser."
Wow, Claire thirty seconds of being here and you're already blowing it. I thought to myself sighing. I picked up my stuff off the skateboard when I noticed the stairs in front of me. Grabbing my stuff I started to slowly walk up the stairs. Finally! Reaching the doors I headed in and was surprised by how nice the school was and went into the doors that had a sign that said office.
"Name?" the lady asked and I replied the name my mom wrote down on the sheet from home.
"Jason Lockwood," I replied and she typed my name into the computer.
"Room 326 here's your key and schedule.” She handed me the envelope and went to texting on her phone. How friendly, I thought sarcastically. I remembered my mom telling me about this being almost like a boarding school you didn't apply you get sent here. Going onto the elevator I waited till it got to the 3rd floor once the ding went off the doors opened I started down the hall mumbling the numbers to myself as I passed.
"321"
"322"
"323"
"324"
"325"
"326"
"327"
"32- wait 326!" I turned around and backed up two doors. Sliding my key card I opened the door and headed in, the sight that greeted me wasn't too pleasant.
"Baby!" the girl moaned making me quickly turn around.
"Sorry!" I said closing my eyes trying to block out the image of the naked girl. The sound of someone hitting their head and yelling hey made me almost open my eyes. Almost.
"Who are you?" the guy asked making me open my eyes I realized he was still wearing no clothes and I made sure to keep my eyes from wandering while he just stood there with his arms crossed in all of his naked glory. Great my roommate is freaking hot as hell and is a sex god. I thought as I took in his features on his face. He had hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair that almost looked brown that was in a messy form which looked like bed head but I knew from the sight a minute ago is was definitely not bed head.
"Jason Lockwood, I'm your new roommate," I told him rubbing my hand on the back of my neck awkwardly.
"Baby, I thought you said you didn't have a roommate,” the girl said, and I noticed she was now only wearing a long guy’s t-shirt which I was guessing was his.
"Why are you wearing my shirt?" the guy said coldly also glaring at her and the girl frowned. "And I said I usually don't get one and when I do the guy always ends up switching rooms."
"Sorry,” she mumbled and started taking it off, I removed my eyes from the girl and just looked at the ground. I heard a door closing and noticed the girl was gone.
"I thought this was an all-boys university...,” I said trailing off awkwardly.
"It is and you won't tell anyone about my little guest or else we'll have a problem,” he told me sliding up his jeans.
"Yea, I won't tell my lips are sealed," I told him pretending to lock my lips and throw out the key.
"Great I have a loser as a roommate,” he said not bothering to hide the fact of what he thought of me. "The name is Caiden Anderson- stay out of my way and we'll be fine,” he told me and I nodded bringing my bags over to the other side of the room where the unused bed was. The door shut signaling Caiden left and I sighed and put my hands on my face.
"What did I agree to?" I asked myself quietly. Deciding to get my unpacking done and over with I folded and put my clothes in the empty dresser and put my bag with my natural clothes under my bed with my skateboard. About an hour later I was done with everything and sat on my bed not really knowing what to do. I got a text from Mia and smiled at what it said,
-
----------------------------------------To: Claire From: Mia Delivered: 1:27 P.M
Hey, girl! How is the guy life? Any hot guys? Text me back as soon as you get this.
-----------------------------------------
To: Mia From: Claire Delivered 3:49 P.M
Hey Mia! I already miss you! The guy life is already horrible and I've only been here for less than 2 hours. I walked into my hot roommate getting it on with some girl. I'll explain it all later when I call you tonight. Since we had to cancel our plans last night we can go clubbing possibly this weekend.
Ps. Everyone I meet thinks I'm a loser.
-----------------------------------------
The door opened and Caiden walked in with a group of guys behind him. I noticed one of them was the guy who I talked to while walking in.
"You have a roommate?" one of the guys asked looking surprised and Caiden shrugged.
"Yea, but he will probably move out by the end of the week," Caiden simply said.
"Do you play basketball?" a guy asked and I shrugged.
"A little," I told him in reality I was on the girls’ basketball team since middle school and he nodded.
"I'm Nick and this is Kyle, Max, and Tom,” Nick told me pointing at three guys. Kyle was the guy who I met earlier I noted.
"Nice to meet you," I said.
"You should join us in basketball so we can play three on three," Kyle told me and I shrugged.
"Sure just a game," I replied. When we all got to the court I noticed a group of guys that applied of about seven, singing together in the corner.
"Who are they?" I asked.
"The weirdos who think they can sing," Tom yelled. I raised an eyebrow at this and he shrugged. "They needed to know my opinion." As soon as Tom said this I immediately knew who I was 'hanging out' with.
These boys were found at every school you go to, in elementary school, in middle school, and in high school.
First of all, there was Tom. Tom was obviously the jock that liked the attention and most likely played lots of sports. Kyle? He was the cliché bad boy wearing the black leather jacket and jeans with the chains attached that were hanging halfway down his butt. Now, Max, I could easily see he was the quiet one, most likely the relaxed one also. Finally the last two, Caiden and Nick. Well, Nick was the best friend and the closest one to Caiden. He was the oh-so-obvious player also.
Now I wasn’t judging him by just his appearance, I was judging by what I've dealt with the last half an hour of being with them as well. I know this fact by Nick stopping by the office on our way back to make plans for a 'quick meet up' with the secretary after she gets off.
Now combined all of these together, the jock, the bad boy, the quiet one, the player and just add an extra personality the cocky one. The outcome you may ask? Oh, that's simple, Caiden Anderson. Now each of these guys you put together and you get a pack of wolves. Oops, I mean a group of guys who are cocky and think they are better than everyone and sexy popular group. The pack of wolves is just what I like to call them all because they all act like wolves following their alpha around or in this case Caiden around.
"Jace, dude watch out!" Tom yelled I looked up just as the basketball connected with my face making me fall backward and land on the green painted court.
"Ow," I moaned rubbing my now sore face. Everyone started to head over at the incident.
"Act like a man," Caiden told me as he looked down at my figure on the ground.
"I didn't exactly expect to be hit in the face with a basketball,” I snapped back making sure to keep my voice a little lower like I've been.
Caiden simply shrugging before turning around and heading off the basketball court. Everyone noticed he was leaving and quickly walked off after him leaving me behind. Like I said a pack of wolves. They don't leave their Alpha, their leader.
"Great guys they are huh?" one of the guys from the corner asked me holding out a hand. I grabbed it and thanked him.
"Yes, they are just peachy," I mumbled angrily.
"Are you gay?" the guy came straight out and asked. My eyes widened at his blunt question and frowned.
"No," I said, offended. He quickly noticed this and apologized,
"Sorry, it's just you walk in a feminine way. It would have been okay if you were. I mean I'm gay and that's why most people don't like me, but my friends that you saw earlier are okay with it and all accept me... at least I think they do. It could be the fact that most of them are bi,” he said nodding. "Hey, have you heard that song Same Love by Macklemore? That song is very inspiring! Oh my, I'm so stupid. Are you against gay people? I had a feeling you were just like them and that's why you-" The guy rambled on making me put my hand over his mouth causing him to stop talking. I sighed in relief.
"I have nothing against anyone who is gay so don't worry I'm not like Caiden’s stuck up group. The name is Jason or Jace as they call me,” I told him.
"My name is Eddie. Why do they call you Jace?” he questioned.
"They told me it sounds cooler but in all honestly I could care less how it sounds," I said shrugging and he smiled.
"I think we'll be very good friends," Eddie told me pulling me into a hug. I just nodded slowly and awkwardly patted his back.
