Alex's POV -

The first thing I smell is the thick heavy damp clinging in the air. It's almost suffocating, filling the darkness with unbreathable air. I tighten my stomach, urging myself not to gag. I can't see anything in front of me, not even my own hand. I remain still and listen out for any noise to walk towards.
