Miss Sung left Devyn for a while. That's when Kiel approached her and said. "President, is the clothing from Miss Feng not to your liking? Do you want me to suggest–" He paused when the lady sealed his lips using her index finger. "What are you talking about? I didn't say I don't like it," she smiled. "If I am going to the party with such branded clothes, of course, I will not let my assistant be left out." Her hands moved down to his chest. "I will choose a suit perfect for your handsome face, Mr Kiel." She blew on his nape before walking past him, leaving Kiel in his stance. And as soon as Miss Sung came out of the fitting room, she grabbed the tall man by the arms. "I have prepared some suits for you. Come here for a second," then the two vanished. Devyn sat on the waiting solo sofa while different outfits were being thrown at Kiel in the fitting room. At first, he showed himself wearing a white pair of suits. It suits him, but they are not going to a wedding, Soso, the lady said no. Then he went out with a red pair of suits again, showing himself to Devyn, who immediately shook her head for a no. Another try for a light blue suit, which looks so bright, and the lady told him that he would just attract more attention by being the bright one, so she said no again. Black wasn't to Devyn's taste since she already guessed that some of the people there would wear black. She didn't want her assistant to be dumped in all black. "Miss Sung, come here for a minute." She turned on her phone screen and showed what she was going to wear, then she whispered. "I want him to wear what matches mine." Finally, the middle-aged woman got it, and Kiel showed himself for the last piece. After settling everything, the two left NJ Clothing. Kiel hurriedly drove her home to give her more time to prepare. They talked about the car with him since he will also drive her to the party later. He lay down on the bed after putting his things down on the floor. He's feeling very sleepy since he took two medicines at a time, and needed more for the upcoming party later. He's not that sensitive around other omegas' pheromones, only in his rut. Kiel put his arm on his forehead and brushed his face. He used to be at Devyn's side even though he was in a rut. Her pheromones don't affect him after all, besides feeling a little dizzy, but he can endure it. He was sure of himself that he could endure it. Tonight was an important event. He shouldn't let his guard down. Some of the other rich alphas might stick around the lady and do something for their own selfishness. He needed to be there as her assistant who would protect her in case. He finally stood from the bed and took a bath instead to freshen his mind. He also received a call from the hotel receptionist, confirming their presence at the party. As soon as he wiped his hair, he completely fell asleep. AT THE LOWELL MANSION "Devyn, sweetheart. Are you free right now?" Madame Evelyn knocked on the door with a plate of peeled apples in her hands. Her daughter opened the door and took the plate from the woman's hand. "What is it, Mom? I'm quite busy." Madame Evelyn peeked at her side, scanning her room. "Are you preparing for the party already?" she smiled as the young lady nodded. "You need something?" Devyn asked, delivering a slice to her lips. "This tastes sweet." She added, munching. Madame Evelyn saw the juice dripping from her daughter's lips, so she wiped it off. "Oh no! Your makeup. I'm sorry, I should have just called you downstairs," she said, getting the plate of apples back. Devyn frowned. "It's fine. But if you're going to nag me again about that non-stop blind dates setting of yours, I will not tolerate it anymore." She snorted. "Why so blunt?" Madame Evelyn chuckled, revealing her thin smile that stretched her wrinkles more. She tucked her short, grayish hair and pinched her daughter's cheeks. "I wonder where you get that attitude?" Devyn chuckled, too. "Hmm–I wonder, too. Maybe it's from my mother?" "What a silly young lady." The middle-aged woman tapped her daughter on the shoulders. "How are you these days? You rarely talk to me. Always going straight to your room after work." Her eyes revealed How sincere she was with her daughter. Devyn hugged her and kissed her mother on the cheeks. "Why are you worrying so much? I'm not a kid anymore, Mom. I know what I'm doing." Madame Evelyn smiled and crossed her arms. "Now you sound like your father." However, that sadness didn't leave her lips. It feels like she's getting along day by day since both her daughter and husband were busy at the Corporation. She rarely talks to them, and by the time they're Home is where she is already asleep or tired. Even Saturdays and Sundays were busy days for them. The woman put her palm back on her daughter's cheeks. "I'm just worried that you might be lonely forever. I just want someone who can also look after you when I'm not there." She apologized for nagging Devyn onto those blind dates. "Mom, you know how my ways work. I told you I don't need that." Devyn rolled her eyes. Changing the atmosphere to stop her mom from worrying. "I have so many men crawling towards me, so why would I ask for them?" "Okay, okay. I get it. You're just trying to stop me from crying and drama again." Finally, Madame Evelyn smiled again. "Just don't overwork yourself, okay? I'm here as long as you're happy." She pinched the young lady by the nose. "Enjoy your party and don't come home super drunk, okay?" Devyn nodded. "Of course. Thank you, Mom."
