Chapter 4: Fucking Psycho

The only reason I let this young woman believe that she captured me was that she was my mate and that I needed to know the state of her life. When I sent that lead out anonymously, I purposely sent all my guards away for the people coming to capture me to think they were catching me off guard, because I had hoped I’d successfully be able to lure out the king of the starlight pack. What I didn’t see coming was for the king to send his daughter in his place, knowing damn well that no one he sent out to come capture me in the past had successfully returned to him. As I stared at my mate right now, at the rising confusion on her face as she stared between my brothers and me, I decided within myself that she was not what I expected in a mate. My brothers and I have been searching for our mate for decades. We had searched everywhere possible and had still been unable to find her despite all our efforts. We might not have cared about finding our fated mate since we could easily get together with whoever we wanted, but since we were all cursed, we had no choice but to keep hoping to find our mate before the curse ended up killing us. Finding out that our mate was the daughter of our sworn enemy was the last thing we expected, but of course, we couldn’t be choosers, right now,w so we couldn’t even dream of rejecting her, er, no matter what. My brothers and I exchanged looks, and I knew they had a lot of questions; it was starkly written across their faces. I walked forward to where my mate was still sitting in the large bed, and she instantly crawled backwards, eying us wearily. "Stay back!" She called out, and I rolled my eyes before crouching at the foot of the bed. "I want to introduce you to my brother," I informed her, watching as her pretty face scrunched up as she looked between my brothers and me again. I hadn’t been joking when I referred to her as gorgeous, because she was one. Granted, she was wolfless and also a hybrid– I had been able to figure those details out because of how extra strong my sense of smell was. "Why did you bring me here? You kidnapped me! And now you’re introducing me to your brothers?! Since when did you even have brothers, and how come no one ever knew?" She screeched, and within the bond I shared with my brothers, I could feel Damon’s irritation. "I didn’t kidnap you, I brought you with me because you’re my mate... our mate." I corrected, gesturing to my brothers. I got a scalding look in return. "Okay, so reject me and take me back to my pack. You think I’d suddenly be happy to be taken away against my will because we’re mates?" She demanded, and I sighed, massaging my forehead. "We’re not rejecting you...So you should start getting used to this." Landon drawled from behind me, eyes playful when I glanced at him. He was focused on our mate, whose gaze instantly narrowed. "This is getting weird. I suddenly have three mates who’re refusing to reject me. So does this mean I’m now your captive? Is this payment for capturing you?" She snapped out, and I resisted the urge to chuckle because she was very cute right now. "You’re not a captive, gorgeous. It’s a little complicated to explain right now." I said calmly, and she bristled. "Well, I don’t care. I want to leave here right now. You almost killed Chris just like that? Because I told you..." "Well, he hurt you, didn’t he? And besides, he’s not dead, but he might not be able to use that arm anymore. And that asshole Chris is not as innocent as you think. He had that coming for him a long time ago." I drawled, and she blanched, gaping at me. "You don’t need to believe me now. The truth would unravel itself soon." I continued as I rose to my feet, pocketing my hands. "So, what’s your name, stunning?" Landon drawled this time, and our mate scowled again. "Don’t call me that." "So, what’s your name then? I’m Landon, and that’s Damon." Landon continued, referring to our third brother, right before he pointed at me. "And the one who found you is Angelo." "Well, I didn’t ask, and I’m not telling. Now, I’d like to leave." She spoke flatly, and I snorted. She was more hefty than I anticipated. "It’s Sue, isn’t it?" Damon spoke, voice carrying the usual bored lilt, and Landon and I glanced at him at once. "It’s right there on her necklace." He explained, and on glancing back at our mate, she had on a scowl while shoving said necklace into her blouse. "I swear, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll let me go, else I’d kill you all, I swear it." She said vehemently, but I rolled my eyes before heading for the door after my brothers. "We’ll be back soon, gorgeous." "Don’t call me that!" She screamed, but I slammed and locked the door. "She’s a freak," Damon said flatly, back facing us. He was staring out the window, and I knew he was trying to keep his emotions under control. He was the one between us who was getting affected the most by the curse on us all, which meant he urgently needed to break the curse before Landon anIlf. If not, the curse would end up fully consuming him first, which would automatically put an end to his life. "She’s wolfless, so what? You know we can’t afford to be picky right now, especially you, because you badly need your curse broken as fast as possible." I pointed out, knowing he hated it whenn the situation of his curse was being pointed out like this, but it was the plain truth. Damon remained silent, and I turned towards Landon. Landon was the complete opposite of Damon. Damon was a brooder; he was collected, intelligent, and thought before he acted. But Landon was the most easy going among us, along with him being a shameless slut. As for me, I was stuck between their two personalities. "What do you think?" I said to Lan, Don, who shrugged. "You’re right, we can’t be choosers right now. And she’s not that bad. Besides, we only need her to break the curse, and that’s all." He said, and I hummed because he was right. "She’s a warrior, do you know that?" I asked and Landon cocked his head in curiosity. "She’s so different from other girls, in more than one way. Look at how she still kept trying to get us to reject her despite us being royalty. Other girls would kill to be in her position." I said, and Landon hummed again. "Perhaps it’s because you almost killed her lover, Chris, from all I’ve gathered." Damon drawled, and I frowned. "He betrayed her and was getting married to her sister before I played him a b,t," I explained slowly, and Damon snorted as he turned around till he was facing us. "Doesn’t mean she’s no longer in love with him. You know how dumb girls can be." He reasoned, and my frown deepened. From the little time I spent talking with her in that cell, she didn’t seem dumb to me. If anything, she seemed very confident to me because not everyone could confidently speak to me like she did. Not everyone could speak to my brothers' name I the way she had, the way she practically told us to our faces that she was gonna kill us. I couldn’t lie. I was intrigued. "We’re all accepting her, right, guys?" I asked while rubbing my hands together, and Landon nodded. Damon reluctantly nodded. "Just for the curse. If she let us feed on her blood till our curse gets broken, that’s all we’d need. After the curse gets broken, we can get rid of her or something." Damon said, and I narrowed my eyes at him. "We’re not killing her, the fuck?" The thought of killing her made a bitter taste settle over my tongue. I didn’t know a thing about him, Mr, but there was just something about her that made me feel bad at the thought of her being killed. "Fine, I guess. But we’ll reject her after the curse gets broken, then she can return to her wretched pack." When we returned to the bedroom where we left our mate in, she was almost escaping through the window when I hurriedly grasped the blanket she was using to climb down the high walls, which I used in hurling her back through the window, holding her firmly while she trashed and screamed thousands curse words at me. "You fucking psycho." I rasped, grasping her chin firmly and forcing her to go still against my chest. "You’re stuck with us from now on."
